I'm only interested in 3-9 year reliability, anything beyond that should be a classic car territory. People say that modern cars don't last long, but what cars last long? How long are you planning to live? Are you buying a car at the age of 30 and planning on selling it at 60? Seriously,30 years? Well, even oil tankers usually scrapped after 30 years of service. Yes, old cars that last usually sit in a garage to be driven once a year to a car show. I cannot come up with a good practical example of a "good ole car" that you can own for decades without a serious maintenance. What about technology? It gets old, airbags may not deploy, frame will rust, would you trust your life to an old piece of junk simply because the transmission is "unbreakable"? 🤓
@@Vincent-ke5zn Accident can always happen, will the airbags work properly? In aviation a metal part will go a certain number of flight cycles then it's usually thrown away even without an inspection. I don't think military airspace spec standards should be applied to civilian tech but some of it's practices can be used when dealing with civilian cars. By the way, modern tank will last 300 hours only before some major maintenance. Even the toughest metals will break under the load
Well some people want their cars to keep it forever and I understand them . Some of my father friends didn't want to sell their cars. Even I will do that if I have opportunity to have some of my dream cars
Now in these days definitely Bmw wins in reliability .But i have question . Which mercedes do you recommend me from 2009- 2018 about long term reliability sedan or Suv and which models and which engines . Again amazing video

Neither, my brother in law just sold his 335Xi. First problem was engine related it cost him over 4K at the dealership then other smaller problems here and there however it’s always in the thousands to fix(parts and labour). I have an 08 G35X almost 300 thousand kilometres and it’s been a solid vehicle. So without a doubt my next vehicle will be either a Lexus, Acura or another Infiniti.
@@josephfamilyrocks I really feel the Accord is better to drive despite being less powerful and perhaps a little less comfortable and a little less insulated. Only an Acura, Lexus and BMW felt better to drive. But I'd still get a Mercedes over a Chevy (consistently the worst cars I've driven) 😂☠️
That's exactly why I chose BMW over the Mercedes, yes I have four(4) BMWs in my garage, of course cars breakdown and have maintenance issues but I think BMW is better value for money over the Mercedes and why is Mercedes more expensive then BMW in every class is to me a mystery. BMW all day long.
Mercedes is all round more reliable and well built imo, get an E class or S class, they are still made in Germany, (c class is junk) They last forever especially if well maintained especially their v6 & v8 engines. The post b58 bmw are very well made as well, but we have to see how well they will hold up to the test of time but I’m definitely considering a b58 as well

I have a 2014 M6. Zero repair costs over 10 years. But I always do the scheduled preventative maintenance, unlike 80% of the idiots out there. With German cars, you *must* adhere religiously to the scheduled maintenance!
No car is perfect, unlike humans! lol / I love and hate my BMW, love to drive it but hate the constant glitches that frequently happen. I've been looking at Mazda lately! Thanks for the video!
they are both struggling with Reliability...I have both Mercedes and BMW techs as clients and they are telling me to stay away... BMWs have major cooling engineering issues that they cannot figure out... the vehicles are literally melting and going into VAPOUR LOCK because the got the engineering all wrong on these new motors and of course the famous timing chain issues that they copied from AUDI... anyway Mercedes is no better... their electrical and battery issues are world famous.. and they are getting worse My client had a Mercedes with 20,000km and it stopped dead in the middle of an 8 lane intersection... diagnosis? are you ready>? Alternator failed... wear and tear they said... . then my other client had a PCV FAIL check engine light disaster.... The valve is on the bottom of the motor so you have to tilt the motor just to replace a $39 piece you just cannot trust the Germans.. because they are not very good at Engineering.. eveything they try to do is a copy from the Italians or Chinese... their cars are flawed from the beginning from poor engineering... instead of designing simple motors they over engineer them and then they cannot fix them
Mercedes more reliable? Bro what year did you live? Bmw improved their reliability last few years while Mercedes reliability go worse and worse. If I have to pick reliability from both brands that would the new bmw and old mercedes
@waelgalal5808 that's what I'm talking about. Bmw improved their reliability from 2018 until now . With their b48,s58 and b58 everything change. Wish I can say that about Mercedes too
i would keep away from all german cars unless on lease , under warranty or you like spending money on repairs & being without your car in the meantime.
It's sad that you lie to your viewers about BMW's. The engine and drivetrains are not the only factors that make a car reliable. Bmw are good pieces of plastics to last till 70-80,000 miles. They are over engineered thus making them complicated for even something as insignificant like power windows. Flat beds were invented to get bmw owners home. @@borghorsa1902 my Ford Focus has 293k miles with a manual transmission
My 2002 Nissan Micra (k11) has just turned 112k miles and will never stop until it corrodes in decade's time. It's only a 998cc engine too.
Now in these days definitely Bmw wins in reliability .But i have question . Which mercedes do you recommend me from 2009- 2018 about long term reliability sedan or Suv and which models and which engines . Again amazing video
Mark I learn so much with your videos. 🙂
Thanks for share all your knowledge!
I ended this one thinking, how would BMW compare with Audi on a same context. Just giving the idea! Cof... Cof... 😬
I’m a Lexus guy I keep looking at BMW but years ago I promised an old friend I would never buy one.🏖️
Lexus is a lovely brand that I stylish and dependable. That’s a great luxury that’s harder to find than one would think
After trying a late model Mercedes, I was quite happy to get back into my Honda.
Why?
Super bias hahahahaah😂😂😂😂, but we on the same page
Mercedes is all round more reliable and well built imo, get an E class or S class, they are still made in Germany, (c class is junk) They last forever especially if well maintained especially their v6 & v8 engines. The post b58 bmw are very well made as well, but we have to see how well they will hold up to the test of time but I’m definitely considering a b58 as well
Mark where are you? Even in Edmonton is summer! I chose Lexus.
Haha I know I filmed it a short while back when the weather was nasty. Which Lexus did you buy? Great choice by the way.
Times have changed. In a world when Toyota now Honda is putting out crap 💩 so bad that now BMW is reliable now with actual proof that shows me that you can buy a quality automobile when you shoved out the dough as BMW are not for poor people
Times have indeed changed
i hope the bugs are work out in the 2025 Mercedes Benz GLC 300 SUV, i want to buy one
This guy is a BMW fan boy
He has a lot of videos criticizing bmw. You’re wrong
You are probably right, but it's a bit like saying Jeffrey Dahmer was a much nicer person than Ted Bundy
Hands down BMW better than Mercedes
"Things are tight and you can pull on it..."
Very true when you're young. Such is life.
Mercedes is nowhere near of what it was. That is because of the greed for more profits. People on the top has to be replaced
I’ve always loved the way BMWs look but I have heard so much shit…I won’t ever buy one. Toyota,Honda,Lexus for life. Honorable mention~Chevy Tahoe
Does it mean the audi came in 3rd places
No way! #3?
Believe it or not
As I told you on another reklama, there is a better way Benz to pay you 😁, it is to speak vice versa.
Thanks for sharing
You’re not helping with the Canadian stereotype, although you could’ve made this on may long weekend in Alberta :)
Where does bro lives
Canada
BMW 💪🏼

Unbiased journalism. Not
they are both struggling with Reliability...I have both Mercedes and BMW techs as clients and they are telling me to stay away...
BMWs have major cooling engineering issues that they cannot figure out... the vehicles are literally melting and going into VAPOUR LOCK because the got the engineering all wrong on these new motors and of course the famous timing chain issues that they copied from AUDI... anyway Mercedes is no better... their electrical and battery issues are world famous.. and they are getting worse
My client had a Mercedes with 20,000km and it stopped dead in the middle of an 8 lane intersection... diagnosis? are you ready>? Alternator failed... wear and tear they said... .
then my other client had a PCV FAIL check engine light disaster.... The valve is on the bottom of the motor so you have to tilt the motor just to replace a $39 piece
you just cannot trust the Germans.. because they are not very good at Engineering.. eveything they try to do is a copy from the Italians or Chinese... their cars are flawed from the beginning from poor engineering... instead of designing simple motors they over engineer them and then they cannot fix them
How people compare between this 2 car in reliability bmw tons of problems mercedes more reliable
Mercedes more reliable? Bro what year did you live? Bmw improved their reliability last few years while Mercedes reliability go worse and worse. If I have to pick reliability from both brands that would the new bmw and old mercedes
@@olympbarca3313 bmw improve reliability from 2018
Mercedes improved reliability from 1970 until 2018 which brand is better ???
@waelgalal5808 that's what I'm talking about. Bmw improved their reliability from 2018 until now . With their b48,s58 and b58 everything change. Wish I can say that about Mercedes too
BMW is the worst in depreciation among all German cars. Don't have to take my words but just check for yourself.
@@dchang168so is Benz. I know because I just got rid of one
BMWs are much better now than the new Mercedes
i would keep away from all german cars unless on lease , under warranty or you like spending money on repairs & being without your car in the meantime.
I love bmw for life nothing else
Both are insanely expensive cars ...buy only American garbage vehicles if you are a nation lover...
Thanks
Biased 🙄
Just go for Lexus, problems solved
Mercedes is still a better car
They have much nicer tech and design language than BmW these days IMHO
Lexus is the winner here 😂
I have one of those as my daily driver I also have a BMW perfect for long trips 😊
You would never take a 3 year old bmw on a 500 mile journey without praying to all the gods😅😅😅
Both garbage bimmer even more
