- Newport News Shipbuilding’s Dry Dock 12 was originally designed to build commercial ships. At 2,173 feet in length, it is the largest dry dock in North America. Today, the dry dock is being modified to better support aircraft carrier construction. Watch this video to learn more about the improvements underway.

We need more drydocks in this country
I’d love to see some kind of update on the Enterprise
NNS has built multiple carriers in DD12 before, and launched one from the back of the dock out over the flooded keel of the second one. I was there and watched it as it was being done.

Looking forward to the launch of CVN-80 ENTERPRISE (hopefully one day y'all will build "starship ENTERPRISE ").
We're already equipped. Vcs are practically space ships
these are good changes now both Big E and Miller can be built at the same time.
The dry docks are getting work done, but we are falling behind. The John C. Stennis is supposed to be finished now but now will take til 2026. The Chinese Navy will produce 31 ships in one year, while we are barely getting 10 ships a year done, not to mention budget cuts.
