I’m 14 now one of my parents are on disability from working theirselves into the ground after my mother got into an accident at work 2 years ago and can no longer work now we are living in a camper because we can afford much right now I’m trying to get a job with a work permit to help this song has been my life line right now
That blows ass man, remember you are never alone. Talk to your coworkers. No matter where you end up working, fight to unionize.
I'm sorry that things are so hard for you right now. You are a damn legend for stepping up to such a situation.
Sorry to hear that
Try and stay positive and keep faith man
I'll keep you and your family in my prayers
God bless
When you or I know where the bottom is…up is just another step!
Keep your head, use your instincts…the future can be dark or light, depending on your outlook
Real talent this should be big am going to play it
One of the best original and soul artists out there.
Jesse, I just found this song and listened about 20 times today before and after my general labor job shift. As I fellow singer and songwriter, I have to thank you for this. This is the exact musical medicine and poetic power I needed today man. I sent this to many of my musician friends to spread you music. Keep writing and singing from the heart brother, there's always the little guys out here like me that feel you! Stay real, you got talent!
This gave me chills! The real American anthem right here, damn!
We are living through an awakening! This music makes me so happy because I know I’m not alone in the way I think, and with that realization we all have the ability to grow stronger as a united working class in the face of systematic injustice
United We Stand 💜
You are cursed to be born in this time. I am blessed to be born while you are here. Keep it up!
Great song! They say jobs are being created....but I am unemployed, struggling, and applying for every job I see....only to get no call backs or not hearing anything after interviews. Disabled veterans dont mean anything to employers. They see us as liabilities and would rather hire some 20 year old kid with zero experience. But yet....they make it sound like it is our fault.
I hope things improve for you brother. And I wish I had advice. Only thing I can say is don’t tell them your disabilities or that you have any. It’s not part of the hiring process. They don’t need to know. And if you have PTSD don’t tell them anything. Find your niche and brotherhood. Good luck and stay strong.
@@dlmyrs Thanks. It is one of those questions "do you belong to a protected class". I have started leaving that one blank.
@@eastcoast16s I don’t think protected class means a lot. However, look into state jobs. Sometimes they have to hire vets first. And once you’re in you’re good.
@@dlmyrs Tried that. Even though I am retired military I cannot get a state or fed job. Let's just say that I am flagged in the system for any govt job. No criminal history but they just dont like something that I am a part of (and not being a part of it would still not change that). lol
@@eastcoast16s I left all my clearances at the door when I left. I was just don’t with government and military. Wish I could offer more advice. I’m retired too. Now I just stay home, stay inside, and enjoy my dogs and family.
Dude is brilliant. I love you, man.
Those internal rhymes got my head spinning. Great song!
The irony of a system designed to keep the masses poor and subservient, while at the same time telling them anyone can "live the American dream" if they jusy work harder and feed the cycle that perpetuates their poverty.
Another hit, feels like history being made every song
I just discovered him and been listneing to different songs over the last hour and I am awe struck. This is amazing. This one hit pretty hard.
Damn, Jesse, you're killing it!!
another goose-bump inducing song
I've worked hard all my life, just to go to the end of the line because I gave my turn to someone more in need or more deserving because there aren't enough folks helping the ones in need. Your songs wake people up.
Thank you.
@@MrYowen88 I was curious; I peeked at your profile. Is that you in the marching band? I played sax in a rag-tag matching band until a few years ago when I moved away. I miss it immensely. So much chaotic revelry.
Well this is who I’ll be listening to religiously for the foreseeable future.
My favorite and your best so far. The melody is simple and the message is received. Thank you.
I understand why your other song "war isn't murder" has the comments turned off but i just gotta say it's one of the most necissary bits of music out there right now. It so perfectly represents what i've always felt about the military industrial complex and I applaud you for being willing to speak up about it.
Especially the part in the song where it goes, "the dead don't talk but their children don't forget so in 20 odd years you may live to regret"
War does not prevent future violence it only perpetuates it in the victims left behind in the rubble.
He actually had the comments turned on originally. I believe they got shut off by UA-cam after a few days because a commenter or multiple reported the video for hate speech, I remember seeing someone comment on another song of his that they were proud they had reported his video and gotten the comments shut off.
@@abominathan932 WHAT A TURD OF A HUMAN BEING TO BE PROUD OF THAT. likely a russian bot.
@@abominathan932 Wow that's messed up on so many levels. it's sad how an anti-war message could be so controversial
This song hits me right in the Disorder. I can see the work you've put into your craft and I can't wait to see where you go with it next. Keep Loving Learning and Growing.
This man gets it. God bless em. Modern day Dylan. Have faith people. People like this cause revolutions!
He may write like Dylan but he looks exactly like Morrison. Dead ringer.
I saw this on TikTok and I was immediately in love, can’t wait for this to be on Spotify
Outstanding in his field LOL Love the background too
That's a good one
I'm going to steal this pun for a playlist of my favorite songs by Jesse.
Thank you. Your music means a lot to me. Please keep sharing 💜
God damn kid. I'm just sitting here having my morning coffee, trying to work up the nerve to go to work and here you go kicking me in the feels and shit
Hope you're not a man.
A man never cries and has no feels, mind you
I'm following this kid. He's the new Bob Dylan. He's making statements. But you HAVE to have empathy to hear and understand him. Sadly, empathy is a rare commodity these days. I'm praying the Millenials will save us all. Fortunately, most are too young and poor to give a fuck about stock prices and care more about Human Beings.
i agree hes good, similar to Dylan in social issue commentary put to music and wit, but evolved to a more modern tone in the chords used and all. Def just followed him too
Jesse Welles wields the guitar like a club and the word like a scalpel.
Trying to play his stuff ain’t that easy
I wouldn't say scalpel, but club certainly
This man does not and I mean does not miss. 20+ songs we are ready for the album of the year here
July 4th, I’m ready!
Awesome job. Keep singing from your heart. Well done. May Jesus bless you.
The algorithm was very generous sending this my way today.
Great song, great delivery, subscribed
Beautiful. Tells shit exactly as it is, and people refuse to see it.
This is the epitome of folk music. It’s as punk as you can get 🤘
I've never seen punker.
Put this on spotify lad i listen to it atleast once every few days , its more than just a song for america , many people can relate to it even us irish 🇮🇪
I came across your War Isn't Murder song a few weeks ago and I haven't been able to stop listening to your music since. I haven't been to many concerts but I would love to see you perform.
Individual has a very unique way of putting phrases and sentences together very clever. He’s very very good. I really enjoy his music.
Some really clever lyricism here. Speaks to the people that can read between the lines while making those who can't think he's speaking their language.
Lol exactly. So many people in the comments are taking the lyrics literally, that's right wing brainrot for you.
I was genuinely shocked at how many people didn’t realize the lyrics were sarcastic
@andrewcavallo1877 Same
Holy F dude. Powerful. You are impressively talented and genuine.
This songs one of my favorites I’m glad I found it. I love the irony and the hidden sarcasm I understand exactly what it means good work !
Reminds me of Neil Young, dude's bringing back folk!
Me too.
Before he sold his soul and his brain leaked out. So yeah sounds like good Neil.
This is one of his best. The system is f**king us all over from before we're born. We need to get smart and get TOGETHER!
Beautiful irony, intelligence and energy. With the heart of Woody Guthrie and the steel of Curt Cobain. Thanks, Mr. Wells.
I love your music man just the lyrics alone your a damn poet, keep a picking.
This should be this summer rich men north of Richmond. Great song
I love when he drops little nuggets of wisdom and spits out the cold hard facts.
I just got off work, and I'm drinking a beer that I paid $2 of my $300 paychecks a week for. This shit hits home.
Yeah and they tell you its the beer that you have to get rid of, thats holding you back of course
The fact you said a beer and not beers is what most of the rich race will miss.
@@lukesutton4135 for sure
Stay calm, you can buy 149 more beers.
@@lukesutton4135 Don't glorify him, he's a drunkard
I CAME HERE SPECIFICALLY TO TELL YOU TO PUSH THIS SONG ON ALL PLATFORMS, this is the only way I can listen and I WILL EVERYDAY!
I'll second that
I already heard it now for at least 20 times.
Download it
That doesn't sound very specific.
And why in all caps, words are violence
Favorite song ! I got that free Lunch! Hits home. God bless you
Solidarity with the working class and the working poor. Worker’s rights ✊
Collectively we have the power
Hello 20 year old Neil Young it's nice to see you again. Never thought I'd see you make an appearance this far down the road.
This song is spiritual & soulful! Makes me cry makes me smile with joy.
I’m working two jobs a total of 75 hours a week and can still barely pay my bills because I have three kids. At a certain point it doesn’t matter how hard you work. When you have kids to feed the prices of everything, literally doubled in the past 10 years. It’s almost impossible to make it on one persons income. Me having two jobs and I can barely pay the bills now.
well if you worked a little harder......
Never give up dude. I have one kid & that's a big deal.
