    Thanks for another great knitting pattern! I'm still working on the Lacey Leaf pattern that I am making as a wrap :)

      Looks like it is. It’s a very repetitive pattern. I think that once you’ve got the repetition down, you’re golden.
      I knit a lot of lace and this one looks like a stitch where in time, it’s easy to see what you need to do once you learn to recognise the stitches. And… it’s a beautiful shawl. I think I’m going to make it with some laceweight yarn I’m spinning up.

    You make this look like something I could do. I learned to knit years ago but pretty much stay with crochet. Maybe I'll give it a try.

      There's plenty that I can't do, trust me. As much as some other crafts appeal to me (woodworking, leatherworking, glass crafting, etc) I tend to avoid crafts that involve tools that I can accidentally maim myself with. 😁

      I've tried several times now and frogged it all. Every time I managed a bit further and I even managed to do up to and including row 13.
      Those odd-numbered rows with purl stitches are a bit of a pain.
      Could you perhaps elaborate a bit as to why you purl those? Can't it be done with knit stitches instead?
      I'll try again tomorrow. Perhaps I'll make a simple swatch just to get the hang of those pesky purls.
      Oh, and I learned a new cast-on method that is easier than the long tail cast on, so there's that at least. Cheers!

    • @FiberSpider
      @FiberSpider  15 днів тому +1

      @stonytina5177 proud of you that you're trying! First off, use a Lifeline, it'll help prevent you from having to frog your work.
      ua-cam.com/video/t0vQccdOaL8/v-deo.html
      As for the purls, it creates the defined look of the lace. Yes, you could use knit stitches instead, but will look very different and the decrease ridges won't be as defined.

    • @stonytina5177
      @stonytina5177 14 днів тому +1

      @@FiberSpider Thanks for the tip. The reason I frogged was because the stitches were not neat and regular enough to my own liking, but I will use s lifeline from now on. I also took the frogging as part of the exercise, a way to get comfortable with knitting.
      I am definitely going to see this through and knit this lovely shawl.

    This is beautiful. I'm going to have to try this. For the circular needle cord length, how long of a cord would you suggest using in order to make sure there is enough room for the neck?

    • @FiberSpider
      @FiberSpider  16 днів тому

      Thank you! My cord length was over 40" but could have used a shorter one. I like lots of wiggle room.

      I tried for the better part of a decade to knit and failed every time
      But with the help of fiber spider I finally got it. You just have to be more stubborn than the craft is hard.
      Knitting is simple, the hardest part is learning how to hold everything and move the yarn along.
      Watching videos is a huge help. And also watching videos on how to fix mistakes really saved me.
      If you want to knit then binge his videos! You can do it ❤❤❤
