I think that the reason Mariah Carey likes them so much is not only the fact that they acknowledge her as their idol but no one of them sounds remotely like her. Originality is a big deal for Mariah that is why she loves them. Unlike other artists who just rip off their idols. Mariah also had her influences but she remained true to herself, that is why she hates it when an upcoming artist is compared to her. Because that only symbolizes that they do not have the creativity to be their own original, some just copy her like you know who.
mariah is not all that original either . shes not the first to do whistle tones and shes not the best at it either . not to say shes not successful and talented, just shes not extraordinary .
That is exactly my point. We all know Minnie made it popular in pop music. But Mariah was inspired by her. But the thing is, her whistles are different, the texture and the tone. She incorporated in a way that it was new and fresh again. Plus she doesnt really sound like Minnie.
Jimenez Vincent Yes, she is... she invented her own singing technique, and she wasn't the first to do whistle notes, but she took them to a completely different level and she is/was the best at them. No one could/can do them like her. She was also doing music that wasn't exactly popular at the time.. She was doing something different, and also writing and producing her own songs, when none of the other big voices divas were only singing songs written for them. She also started the whole rent-a-rapper trend in music, which is so popular.

What I love so much is that they're standing on their own. I love their dances, it's pretty cool. It's a nice change to have them up on stage just having fun and be in the moment. YES!

I love how they acknowledge Mariah's vocal slayage and influence by singing her songs (unlike others whose name wont be mentioned..) and I love how Mariah acknowledges their talent back! Plain camaraderie! And i love it! Im a lamb that stans for them now too! Im a melodizer or harmonizer however they call their fans! ;)
If you're talking about ariana, she's done multiple mariah covers and addresses her constantly as one of her idols.

It is really good that Camila was chosen as the lead singer of the group. She is by far the best singer and the most popular member of the group.She is treated like a star by great world stars. Selena Gomez, and Tylor Swift were on Camila`s birthday party. Ariana Grande is Camila`s friend and Ed Sheeran said that Camila was incredible when she sang Lego House.

She wasn't chosen as the leader, they haven't really picked anyone! People just assume seeing she has the most solo. She has a great voice and range. It's just the tone can get a bit squeaky.

Thirdly they are all friends with celebrities. Correction on the birthday part. Camilla didn't have a party, Taylor swift just invited her over cos Camilla wasn't doing anything for her birthday and that's where she me Selena. The only thing you were kinda right about is her being the most famous and that's if we are judging from their individual twitter followers. So get your facts right.

And Normani. Seriously this Normani is equal to or less than Camila BS is getting old. Mani works too hard slaying us with her high notes, runs, bass etc, while Camila squeaks through all her lines, & they both are called equal or Mila above Mani. Normani is vocally on another level above Camila.
