I absolutely love early morning fishing! Just today I got up at 4:30 and was on the water by 5. That being said I don’t catch many fish early morning. I just love being out on that water that time of day with a thermos of coffee.
You probably hate some of my comments but I appreciate your knowledge and mental Monday talk as much as anyone. Not easy to have an honest opinion anymore but you give yours with integrity
Thanks for the good info! Summer is the only time of year I get up early to fish simply because it gets so hot where I live. I’ve still noticed my best catches come from 10-2 tho lol hopefully these tips will help
Like the vids. Title doesn’t cover those of us who really don’t have a problem catching bass. 9:00 o’clock start after breakfast for this old man. 😂❤️👍🇺🇸✝️
I love early morning fishing. I fish the bank and it's nice to be the only one out. I also like hearing the birds and seeing life start to wake up. It's relaxing. I've also caught 4 of my biggest bass early in the morning.
Must say Randy I respect you and I like your take on things. I agree on most of your points and although there’s a few things I thought were my own secrets that you let out the bag! there’s also many things you’ve opened my eyes to. One of the few people on social media I can say I truly benefit from. Feels like I know you. Thanks man, keep doing what you’re doing….
I’ve really struggled for bass in the morning but mornings are often the only time I have to fish. These are some great ideas I’ll definitely use soon. Thanks for the suggestions!
I will never forget how you were pitching over the trees on TV with a jig letting that jig down in those willow trees when I was a youngster , I used that techinique after I saw you doing it , except I was in Venice mouth of the Mississippi River with current and deep holes on the back side of willow trees , I used to pin em with heavy mono in the willow trees then troll as fast as I could to plow my boat in there with the trolling motor to dig em out , 3.5 pounders , footballs
Very good!!!! As always, very informative. I would like to sorta comment on suspending fish. Im also an avid night fisherman, as well as love to get out and sweat it all day on those ledges and brushpiles. I’ve noticed, with three decades of night tournaments, that ALL bass on just about every body of water I know, will TEND to feed strongly in the first few hours and the last hour or so of daylight, (not sunrise, daylight). Fish that we see suspended over ledges and structure, IMO, are the fish we catch on that stuff, MOSTLY. You can actually watch fish come out of suspension and go to the structure and start feeding with active sonar. I’ve done it. In my part of the country, carp are the prominent marks we see in suspension during the day, along with gar, trout, even walleye and muskie. It’s still plain old hard to distinguish bass from other species like these because they share many of the same habits and thermocline preferences. It is rare to be in a night tournament where the bite goes all night, almost always kicks in around 4am, and again about 6pm, lasting til 10:30-12, then shutting down. Sure, a few bites are caught, but I don’t think out of feed, only out of instinct to eat close opportunity. (Scavenge). You mentioned big worms? Well my friend, I too am a big worm aficionado!! Nothing goes in to the dead center, deepest, thickest part of the brush (where the shade is) and back out easily like a big worm. Many people tend to overweight them for brush fishing. Only need 1/4oz or so, otherwise, you’re gonna hang and spook your fish. Save the heavy stuff for dragging. Preach on brother, love your vids!!!
Just the video I needed! Quick, full of great useful info and i love your theories regarding the bass daily rotations (I mainly fish for smallmouth and it made total sense). Keep it up
Loving the hat!!!🤓let's see if your willing to part with one at 75k!!!with that signature touch😁as an added bonus to the give a way package🤓nice tips in the great outdoors🤓
Just some input... I Fished a tournament at night, and we had luck on a red/black shad 7" ribbon tail worm on spinning rod. Just casting out and fishing it on either a drop shot, or shaky head or darter head. Also, we fished a big dam, and sides of rocky walls all night catching big bass on a black big 10" ribbon tail by zoom I believe. We came in second place. when it's full nighttime black and dark colors seem best...
@@lydiapawlak8564 Sure appreciate this Lydia! Night fishing is brand new to me and I’ve been studying. I’ve struggled though, with extremely calm conditions with little current also. I think this has hurt the bite (like these do in the daytime also). I’ll keep chipping away at it though. Thanks!
Yup night fishing in the heat of summer. Fishing seems to crap out an hour or two before sunrise. Maybe stragglers like you said. Interesting you think the suspenders are the shallows night fish. I thought the opposite having trolled for suspenders at night and done well, but not so much on the deep bottom fish. Great video!
Saturday, fished from 11am till 10pm with a break for dinner and a catnap between 4-7pm. Crushed em during the day 40 fish day between 4 of us. Sunday morning I went out, couldn't catch anything from 6-11am, sun made an appearance and the topwater bite turned on. 12 smallies in 2 hours on a giant dog x in gg perch.
My local lake doesn't have much shade from the bank right now because it is so low. I have to focus on the docks for shade. I have caught a good number of fish early on a topwater bite at times but most of the time I find the early morning bite to be no better than later in the morning. I prefer early morning fishing but find it hard to get up that early. The very hot summer we are having is making it a necessity to fish early.
Crazy how he has most of his success during mid day meanwhile most of mine comes in early mornings or late evenings. Mid day I like to get out of the heat if I can
I've had great days early, I've had bad days early. I feel the moon and cloud cover plays into the mix also. I've always had better early catches around the new moon.
If I get up and it's cloudy, and sprinkling rain, and it's gonna be cloudy and misty or sprinkle throughout the day, me and my dad are canceling whatever, calling into work, and hitting the lake. We have had some outstanding days with crank baits and topwater catching numbers as well as big fish. We've caught em on top all day long. I say we but me really. Dad just throws his crank baits. Dt 4 and dt6, bandits, bombers, are his go to cranks. Ol man wears me out with them sometimes.
Can you talk about night fishing in summer and what baits to use and where the fish usually position? (ie main lake, first part of creek, back of creek)
I’m new to your channel, and I like it. I’m on Bull Shoals, mid lake. I was told when I moved here the Bull is a night time lake. The greatest challenge for us is the fluctuating water level! It seems the fish pull back from shore and go deep. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thank You sir
I fish in Florida and you'd better be out there as early as u can. Bite 90 percent slows down in bluebird skies as the sun gets higher. Over cast/ front different story but any random day first light bite for me
Hey randy been here since you started but I never heard what your biggest bass are!!!!! Would love to hear 👂 stories of your top 5 big bass thanks man great content as always
Not sure about the rest of the country, but up here in western NY, I can’t catch any fish until mid day. It’s like the bass up here are like drug dealers who sleep till 2pm. Then they wake up and bite everything! 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Who's y'all!? 🤣😂 JK but man that was a HUGE one I caught yesterday. I hit a different spot today to leave that one alone. 👎 I'm already home. Going back tomorrow.
Randy, I may get scorched on here for suggesting this but: Is there any way to take pics of surroundings on a lake and then describe what you would do in this situation. Example. Say you take a pic of a cove that has laydowns and rip rap. You could actually show what you would do in that situation play by play. And the baits to use in that situstion. While we see the pic on screen. Thanks
it they would just stock the lakes with our license money like they use to do everyone be catching fish they stopped stocking an the lake just went south then they started stocking stripe bass an them things eats up all the babies also then the herring eats the baby they put in our lake also
Hey Randy honest question. Didn’t you once say you formerly rushed to get on the water first for a tournament, then realized it gave you no advantage? Wondering how this video relates to that. I’m sure you have a good rationale!
I absolutely love early morning fishing! Just today I got up at 4:30 and was on the water by 5. That being said I don’t catch many fish early morning. I just love being out on that water that time of day with a thermos of coffee.
I don’t like getting up early to go fishing, but I LOVE watching the sunrise while I’m on the lake.
74K subscribers- Not that long ago you were amazed when you hit 20K, Randy. Quality info, topics, perspectives and expertise. Outstanding!

Yeah I’m in east Texas so I hit it early but they never bite til late either 😅
Same here! Maybe because less people are fishing later, so there's less pressure?? 🤷
Early mornings is only rivaled by a full moon rising at sunset! Love those tips. Thanks!

You are the first BASS Master pro I’ve ever seen do that and this was way before punching was even a thought

Try some live bluegil or shiners

A lot of good info here Randy! I'd love to take you at the break of dawn fishing on the Rappahannock to get some of your advice
Great video , here mr.Randy if I can find moving water shallow and deep I can catch em good here in the summer
I do my best in last 30 minutes of the day. Fish move to certain locations as evening falls.
Crazy how he has most of his success during mid day meanwhile most of mine comes in early mornings or late evenings. Mid day I like to get out of the heat if I can
totally agree
Agree 100%
Legend!

No doubt there is something about a new moon. Me and my uncle fish alot we are both convinced the best time for a big fish is a new moon
Damn bro, you really calling me out.
Great content thank you. Keep it up. You looking handsome too.
Enjoy your videos Randy. What is the vegetation called that is over your left shoulder toward the end of the video? It is in Old Hickory Lake also.
Can you talk about night fishing in summer and what baits to use and where the fish usually position? (ie main lake, first part of creek, back of creek)
Yes. You're loving the sport to death. Things you find out if you put in the time to discover the wonder.

I have caught my biggest fish around 11am
9am-2pm and then 5:30pm-Dark
Texas
New sub! Liked ✌️🤗😀
Thx for joining!
Rip rap along dam walls with blue or junebug spinner baits in the morning. In Texas where I’m at soft tails don’t help on your spinner baits.
Can you do a map for a lake in Pennsylvania on fish the moment
My thoughts were go 2 shady side that holds morning shade the longest....I'm dead wrong....?
Can't tell u how many times in team tourney's every one I spoke with said they never had a bite past 10:00 ! Same for me... Florida
I am not an early morning fisherman lol, but I will cause hey I've caught good fish then,
Can you gonna give us a fishing video again soon maybe
Hey randy been here since you started but I never heard what your biggest bass are!!!!! Would love to hear 👂 stories of your top 5 big bass thanks man great content as always

What famous fisherman called Randy “The most analytical angler in the world”?
it they would just stock the lakes with our license money like they use to do everyone be catching fish they stopped stocking an the lake just went south then they started stocking stripe bass an them things eats up all the babies also then the herring eats the baby they put in our lake also
You contradict yourself right off the bat! You don't like early morning? I've caught my biggest at the crack .right off the bat! Lol 😂
I don’t like early morning. I’ve caught good fish early but I still don’t like fishing early
Paradox.......night fishing is like a burger plain. The mornings are Majiç.....
Hey Randy honest question. Didn’t you once say you formerly rushed to get on the water first for a tournament, then realized it gave you no advantage? Wondering how this video relates to that. I’m sure you have a good rationale!
I just go live scope snipe them 🤫🤫
Whats rip rap?
man made chunk rock banks like you see along bridges or dams

Fellas… get out there and fish the heat. Not many bites but the big girls like to play in extreme conditions… fish the extremes. Bar none
I'm gonna post a video on why you struggle to win a bassmaster classic or any event for that matter... lmao..
Lol early morning is about the easiest time to catch bigguns in the summer.
Do you ever fish? or do you just talk?
Bass fishing for kids man
