I remember the good times, the Sombreros. As a suburban San Diego native and highschooler when this album came out it was like it was full of songs written just for me. Makes me miss those times, but I love the memories. Thanks for them!
What I liked most about Dude Ranch was how Mark & Tom's vocals complemented each other throughout the entire album and every track seemed distinct in a way. In hindsight this album was very well produced. Skits were kept to a minimum, but seemed to complement the album well and yet the album plays through like a breeze. Surprising, as the total length of Dude Ranch was nearly 45 minutes! Which is a lot longer than your typical punk album or even rock album for that matter! A+

As much as I like California, I will always like the older stuff best. Such as this song, Punk Rock/Pop Punk never usually had a meaning. This song is literally about Marks' "girlfriend". Now with California, It seems like they're trying to get a really deep philasophical meaning for each song. Also, the music videos were way funnier and more random than they are now.

He's the true heart of the Band, has ALWAYS given it 100%. We've had blink without Tom, without Travis, even without the original drummer Scott...but never without Mark.
What happened to this blink. I was there in so cal when this came out. It was amazing. The whole environment, music,culture. We were all just innocent and not a care in the world. After enema it all changed, we didn't feel it anymore. I dig Skiba tho, pretty awesome that they played m&m's at SOMA.

I still eat at Sombreros in Poway sometimes. There used to be shrine to Blink there on a tac board and they used to get fan mail sent there. Now there’s just a single picture of them tucked behind a bunch of shit. The City of Poway is crazy for not making that place a historical landmark. Blink was a cultural phenomenon and put Poway on the map. They still have hundreds of millions of fans.

Personally, I think they were better past then. I saw Blink 182 and MCR back in 2011 and they put on a hell of a show!! Poor Tom had a super bad cold and couldn't sing every song, but Gerard came out and sang a few songs with them. It was a great show :)

I don't really remember anything before like late 1997/98. So I mostly grew up in the early 2000s. But yeah, the early 2000s were still awesome. Not quite as awesome as the 90s (some stuff from the 90s lingered on into the early 2000s), but still pretty awesome.

I say that as someone who didn't do that, I regret wasting my years in college tbh, so that's the advice I'd give, just put yourself out there and be yourself. Just make some experiences oh and go to class lol I didn't take it seriously and failed a few times lmao It sucks that Covid will unfortunately not make these things possible but when things go back to normal hopefully soon you can make some new experiences.

As much as I like California, I will always like the older stuff best. Such as this song, Punk Rock/Pop Punk never usually had a meaning. This song is literally about Marks' "girlfriend". Now with California, It seems like they're trying to get a really deep philasophical meaning for each song. Also, the music videos were way funnier and more random than they are now.

He's the true heart of the Band, has ALWAYS given it 100%. We've had blink without Tom, without Travis, even without the original drummer Scott...but never without Mark.

What happened to this blink. I was there in so cal when this came out. It was amazing. The whole environment, music,culture. We were all just innocent and not a care in the world. After enema it all changed, we didn't feel it anymore. I dig Skiba tho, pretty awesome that they played m&m's at SOMA.
A blessing, I grew up in that era. You dont realize how simple and fun it was until youre a bit older and you look back to it. This generation will never understand.

I still eat at Sombreros in Poway sometimes. There used to be shrine to Blink there on a tac board and they used to get fan mail sent there. Now there’s just a single picture of them tucked behind a bunch of shit. The City of Poway is crazy for not making that place a historical landmark. Blink was a cultural phenomenon and put Poway on the map. They still have hundreds of millions of fans.

Personally, I think they were better past then. I saw Blink 182 and MCR back in 2011 and they put on a hell of a show!! Poor Tom had a super bad cold and couldn't sing every song, but Gerard came out and sang a few songs with them. It was a great show :)

@Mathias Montagner While the 90s were arguably the best time to be alive, the early 2000s were pretty damn awesome as well. I was born in 1993, so I missed out on most of the 90s. I don't really remember anything before like late 1997/98. So I mostly grew up in the early 2000s. But yeah, the early 2000s were still awesome. Not quite as awesome as the 90s (some stuff from the 90s lingered on into the early 2000s), but still pretty awesome.
@Mathias Montagner thats because your looking at the 90s from a nostalgic video or from a hollywood movie. People were the same, just different styles and fads. The present is way better, you like using UA-cam ya thats not a thing yet. You just like it because its different from your current life, I guarantee kids from that era were saying "I wish it was the 80s".
@Mathias Montagner ya it's hard man I've recently finished college so I get you. The best thing to do is just put yourself out there eventually you'll find people that you can connect with. I say that as someone who didn't do that, I regret wasting my years in college tbh, so that's the advice I'd give, just put yourself out there and be yourself. Just make some experiences oh and go to class lol I didn't take it seriously and failed a few times lmao
It sucks that Covid will unfortunately not make these things possible but when things go back to normal hopefully soon you can make some new experiences.
