I adore whenever Frieren and Fern get recognized as mom/daughter. What a precious gift Heiter gave to each other, truly.

28:20 Stark asked Fern on a date as a "getback" for Fern always being harsh with him. He wanted to mess with her, his initial thought wasn't "I want to go on a date with her", it was supposed to be kind of a "prank" but her reaction surprised him (he even says "that's not the reaction I was expecting"). So this helps a little his case that he only noticed or acknowledged Fern as cute when they were in a date lol.

@@lindsayroutliffe there's quite a bit that will get great reactions from the content which would probably be included in a season 2.

Well, Frieren is basicly a second mom to Fern and closest person in the world after Heiter death

If you look back at episode 2, Heiter mentioned the same reason when asked why he saved Fern: "It was what Himmel the Hero would've done". Ohhh love your reactions to the manga!! I'm excited for you to read the upcoming arcs!

Fern do Frieren "angry braids" when she in bad mood and "good one" when she is happy

Any time villages shrinking or disappearing is used in this series to denote the passage of time I think about all the media in Japan that makes a note about the dwindling populations in rural villages or towns that aren't big cities. Most people move to go to Uni, but not many of them seem to move back home. (Ofc in a setting like Frieren's, merchants live on the go, and farmers are susceptible to monster attacks, so populations dwindle unless there's a defense in place anyway)
Also, I like that we can't visually tell the diff between Fern's good mood braids and her bad mood braids, but since it's Frieren's hair being braided she definitely knows if Fern's in a good or bad mood lol

Stark's got that Child at Heart perk from Fallout lol
Them translating Frieren-sama to "mistress Frieren" is still off-putting to me. It is correct, just sounds weird to me.

Great memories chapter 65. Very Stark centric what was needed. 5:25 top "etwas" pronunciation.
Chapter 66 "I'm a lady after all. Frieren smirk trademarked TM getting me all the time.
Chapter 67 Yes people will freak out, when the two chapters will drop in an episode. Well it is cute and we have this typical Stark "Nanda"- moment.
For reading suggestion you could read ch68/69/70 in the next video. Since a mini arc comes after that you might wanna read ch71 up to including 76 in one go. And after that well you will get to see what many people are waiting for to become animated.
Here are the next pronunciation assistance Ch68 you should try that word in advance (you can also use google or some translation site that have a word probe if you don't feel right); Ch69 is rather full with german words; ch73/74/75 since these are spells the german part in it are less worrisome I guess and they are made to be "fantastical" anyway.
    ch68:
Nachricht eng. message. Nachricht [ˈnaːxˌʁɪçt]. It is pretty complex for a non native speaker to get it right. So don't feel bad. There are two "ch" sounds that are on top of it differently pronounced. It starts with "Na-" sound like in the food "nachos". The first "-ch" again with nearest is the -ch- sound is in the Scottish word "loch", "-richt" take the Richter-scale as guidance for the end of the word. The second "-ch" non german speaker often form as a "k", but here we have the german specific "ich"-sound that has no analog in the english language. It is for the ch part often compart to a hizzing cat.
    ch69:
Boshaft eng. malicious. Boshaft [ˈboːshaft]. "Bos-" is near to the word "boss" but with an elevated "o" like in "bo" in boring. "-ha-" as in "hard", "-ft" as in deft.
Bier eng. beer. Bier [biːɐ̯]. Pronounciation is similar to the word beer just the first e slides to an "i" sound like in "big" and the "r" doesn't lower the voice to the end as it is the case in the english pronounciation.

Fass eng. barrel. Fass [fas]. Start with "Fa-" sound like in "farm". In the word "facility" is the "s" sound we end the word with. So to speak it is pronounced like "fac-ility" but with the "F" from "farm".
Milliarde engl. the number billion. Milliarde [mɪˈli̯aʁdə]. Ok this is a leanword from italy. "Mili-" like in "milimeter" then we squeez in a soft nearly not hearable "j" to soften to the "a". For the "-ard" part from "guard" and "e" "garde//ning".
    ch70
Norm engl. standard, norm. Norm [nɔʁm]. Similar to the englich normal, but in german "o" don't get dragged down but stays high pitched like in the word "note"
    ch71
Rufen engl. to call, shout. Rufen [ˈʁuːfn̩]. The "Rouf-" part sound like the word "roof", just the "R" is pronounced differently By itself, the German "r" sounds a lot like the word "err" in english as if you're gargling mouthwash. Not easy to get without a demonstration so don't be to bothered.
Since you come to know "Genau" and "Methode" before it will not feel right to give you pronounciation for them.
    ch72
Revolte engl. revolt. Revolt [ʁeˈvɔltə]. Starting with the mouthwash "R" it is near the english but instead going into an "i" we stay with the like in "revolution". Don't miss to end it on "-te" like in "telephone"
    ch73
Nebela'dora has the german word Nebel in it. Nebel means fog. Nebel [ˈneːbl̩]. "Ne-" like in the word "next" and "-bel" as in the country "Belarus". The "bl"- sound is also in the word "bible".
The "a'dora" part is fictional I would say
    ch74
Digärdnacht has the german word Nacht in it. Nacht means night. As with "Nachricht" it starts with "Na-" sound like in the food "nachos". The "-ch" again with nearest is the -ch- sound in the Scottish word "loch" and it ends with a "t"
Di is used in german from the greek number system to express two "gärdn" comes near to "gärten" or near to "gerte" so either garden or the riding whip. So nothing exactly is clear as the last part of the spell.
    ch75
"Medrozbalt" and "Elil'fratt" would be spelled diffrent in german, but I don't have a clue what they mean and giving advice for a german pronunciation will not make it better.

@@lindsayroutliffe As said previously. You try and that is for those following along a new experience I recon. Since these german words are meant to make it "special" I really like that you treat this angle of the manga with appreciation too. And they have a purpose with hidden clues embedded. Well it can come of as imposing on you, so I'm glad you like it.
