    As a person with perfect eye sight I feel blessed tbh. Idk what it is since I literally am on my laptop or phone for almost 10-14 hours a day for work but somehow I still have perfect 20/20 vision.
    I feel like I could never live with glasses and if I had nearsightedness I would rather have a surgery.

    • @ahokay3119
      @ahokay3119 Рік тому +2

      Being on a laptop or phone doesn't really have much to do with whether or not you develop myopia. Myopia usually develops at a young age due to the eye growing more than was necessary. So, the eye is shaped more like a football than a baseball and it refracts the light to the wrong point in the eye. If you didn't develop nearsightedness as a child, you probably never will. What causes the eyeball to grow too much is genetics and exposure to sunlight. Children who are exposed to an inadequate amount of sunlight are at a much higher risk for myopia. This is why myopia is becoming more and more common as children stay inside for school and for fun. Anyway, almost everyone will develop some degree of presbyopia sometime after age 40. This can be fixed with a surgery or you can just wear reading glasses.

    Unfortunately a few months later the lens in my right eye rotated and I got blurred vision and infection. I documented that as well ua-cam.com/video/552EJmAUaSE/v-deo.html
    The right lens was replaced and everything is back to normal again. Hope my videos help!

    I have the halos too but mine are only 1-2 directly in the center and it kind of grows or gets larger and comes at me.. if I were to explain it. I don’t see the multiple halos around each light source like you explained here. Just thought I’d share my point of view for others who are reading the comments. It’s not too bad, I’m getting used to it and it’s only when the light hits the eye a certain way and if I decide to focus on it. Other than that it’s amazing that I can see now!

If I'm gonna pay 6000 bucks=usd then I want to have perfect healthy vision just like I had before with glasses or lenses; glasses doesn't give you dry eyes, glare, or halo problems. Unfortunately the technology is not available yet to get perfect eyesight (20/20 vision) with no side effects. I rather wait to see what the technology in the future has to offer.

      This surgery sometimes causes vitreous detachment which is a liquid into our eye that is close to the retina.
      When you get this surgery you eye pressure changes dramatically in a short time and then it comes back to normal.
      This change makes your eye to make king of a move and can make this vitreous gel to move and get separated from the retina and more and more floaters will be visible to you all. That's why I'm asking whether you had floaters before surgery.
      Thanks!

      It gets better.
      I can look cloose at maybe 10 cm from my eyes. Im 28 so my natural lens is still flexible. You will loose close up vision when you are above 40 years old due to natural ageing of the natural lens. You can use reading glasses for close up vision.

    • @MetallicReg
      @MetallicReg 7 місяців тому +1

      Depends on the type of safety you are looking for.
      Wearing contact lenses = the unsafest option of them all. Also guaranteed damage over time.
      Laser surgery = less precise, will damage the integrity of the cornea, damages nerves in cornea (dry eye risk etc), can’t be repeat as easily or has accumulation of damage if repeated, will mess with HOAs of the cornea and can be problematic if you want to use multifocal lenses later in life after lens exchange.
      It is however much safer than contact lenses and it is minimally invasive.
      ICL = it is invasive and you better get it done in a very good clinic where any form of the risk from the surgery itself isn’t relevant. They need to choose the perfect size of the lens.
      Other than that and the halos of the Aquaport - it has only positives compared to the topics above.

      @@josephwright4096 You probably have the same advice being advised of the 20/20 rule. Every 20 minutes look 20 feet away for 20 seconds. It not only helps prevent the headaches but helps take prevent myopia and astigmatism progression which they are finding is more common after the 20 something cut off age that most studies previously suggested. Excess dryness after ICL is not uncommon and the halo effect diminishes so long as the eyes are kept moist. Long stints at the computer usually cause lower blink rates thanks to how the computer screens/work flow happens. This causes dryness and an increase in halos and contact lens discomfort. ( Hence, why I wear glasses. I don't like them but they are low maintenance compared to contacts and I don't have to apply wetting drops when using them.)
      Not trying to be accusative here. I work on or near computer screens enough that I am in the same boat, wondering about whether to get ICL or stick with glasses and other contact lens modalities.
      This new finding of worsening myopia in previously stable age groups is down to a few factors (like genetics which of course we can't change) environment, and lifestyle habits. The last two are the only ones we can control and health gurus prey on that.
      Hopefully, this reply doesn't get a bunch of "End Myopia" woo that a lot of other eye health channels seem to get. There is a very small basis of truth for a small section of their claims but the underlying methodology of the studies they reference and the care models they reference are not current with our understanding of how eyesight tends to worsen AND how eyes tend to change through the stages of child to middling and later adulthood.
      To refute briefly some of the claims made by the "End Myopia" accounts, the studies they reference are theoretical models. I.e studies questioning whether different supplements actually present a health benefit to human patients, as many of these research trials are sponsored by multi-vitamin companies without meaningful control groups (meaning there is no way to tell if the treatment or some other outside factors would have caused the same perceived levels of improvement.) The best trials would be a randomized, double-blind study ( so neither the optometrist or patient was sure which treatment or what level of change they should expect.) People's perception of how bad or good their vision is is subjective, even when empirically we can measure that their eye shape has changed, and that therefore their prescription has changed, they will insist that their vision is clear.
      Supplement and vision therapy gurus of the "End Myopia" group have no control groups given placebos or no therapy and a further reassessment down the line. One of the ironies is that both groups can show progression in their vision improvement or deterioration in essence despite of the fact that they were given something to treat the condition, meaning then, that their was no meaningful (called a significant difference, there are mathematical thresholds in the terminology but I am going to keep it simple.) differences between the treatment and control group. Therefore, we can conclude that taking a supplement had no measurable impact on the outcome of the study, in this case, a patients stabilization or improvement of their vision.
      Studies looking at supplements are simply meant to be "What if's" for researchers. If something looks promising enough researchers will design double blinded research trials in human patients to see what happens. That last bit, the use of in-vivo, in humans, versus in-vitro, in cell culture, mediums is the critical difference between applicability in study results. Cells in a dish or an animal are rarely comparable to how drugs and other medications react within the bodies own systems. Whenever you see the study results applied to cells in a dish, always ask, "Is this how the product or medication will be used in real life?" and "What other biological systems would either help or hinder the anatomy or physiology of the human body from being impacted by these drugs, items, or products?" The answer is usually both highly technical and complex. Something the "End Myopia" group rarely acknowledges, when it comes to interpreting studies with any nuance.
      Okay, rant over.
      Hope you have a lovely day and an easier decision making process when it comes to getting ICL done or not. (And sorry for the spiel, I have a family member in Eye Health and they tell me about the latest and greatest in science and dodgy health practitioners as a way to let off steam. Let's just say having the "All natural" crowd deny their very myopic kids correct vision prescriptions and treatment plans is a HUGE pet peeve.)

      Sometime this lens can cause glaucoma due to fluid interference between crystalline lens and anterior part of the eye.
      Although new models don't need iridotomy to be made in the iris (it was a hole made by a loser yag to improve humourous circulation) the hole may not be enough and glaucoma can occur.
      Also cataract formation is a concern and can lead to early opacities in the crystalline lens because of the ICL...then you may need cataract surgery sooner than you're supposed to and retinal detachment risk is higher in high young myopic patients (so this consideration has to be taken into account).
