You`re absolutely correct ! , they are shit personified ! , our cistern took ages to fill ,so I disassembled the inlet valve and, the tiny hole through which the water enters the cistern, I drilled it larger, to 2.5mm. and it fills much faster now. Then, a few weeks after we bought it, it continually leaked water into the toilet bowl if you flushed in the usual way. We found that we had to keep the button depressed until the cistern was empty - and then release the buttom really quickly so that it snapped back into place. It worked 99 times out of a hundred but was a right pain to do. Our next toilet will be a handle flush type, we have one upstairs and it`s never, ever given any trouble whatsoever. At the moment I`ve taken out the dual flush valve and applied sealent to both the bottom rubber washer and the seat into which it fits and am waiting until tomorrow until the sealent cures to see if that cures the problem.

One flush only uses half of the water in the cistern which is why you get two flushes and then it takes ages to refill

Unscrew the cover button off and then check your fill valve as if its taken a long time to refill it is most likely the fill valve that is causing the issue

The diaphragm in the fill valve is probably split, if it’s taking so long to refill. Mine was the same a few months ago.

its got nothing to do with the flush button! Turn the outer ring of the silver flush button and it will unscrew. You will see 2 seperate units. the flush button and the fill inlet valve. The inlet is filling too slowly. Can not say exactly why without seeing it. There are many different types. If you have the practical skills it may cost a couple of quid or nothing.! if not then you will probably have to pay for a plumber who knows what he is doing and run the risk of being sold a load of parts you don't need.

If you`ve ever looked at the inlet hole in the fill inlet valve you`ll see that it`s tiny, drilling it out to 2.5mm. cured the very slow cistern fill, it fills really quickly now.

@@serberious your problem was the Diaphram.. drilling it will long term mess up the valve

that tiny hole isn't supposed to have water coming out. thats the diaphram not working properly which is making the water find an exit in an unnatural way. the water comes down the inlet valve as shown in the instructions.

@@bobmarley-rl8vn I drilled it about five or six years ago and haven`t had a problem with the cistern filling ever since.
