4:57 If possible try to power up cooling pad using a power bank, rather than directly from laptop. It will help to bring down temperatures even more efficiently and will avoid framerate drop and heating better in laptops

I believe the end result depends on whether the fans at the bottom of the laptop are for exhaust or for air intake.

I was just looking at your previous videos about useful gaming laptop gadgets and cooling pad and you just dropped this video
guys let me share my experience after buying this. So I compared the squall 300 with the normal amazon basics 4 fan cooling pad. The results were really unimpressive.
Environment for testing : Apex Legends menu screen (after login 10mins till you get disconnected due to inactivity)
Amazon basics : Peak temp : 86 degree
Squall 300 : Peak temp: 87 degree
I have tested this around 5 times and every time the amazon basics would reach peak temp lower than squall 300 and also the rate of rise in temp is lower in amazon basics cooling pad.
The problem I think with squall is that the central fan is blowing fan (1500rpm) and the other 4 smaller fans (2500rpm) are in pairs. One is blowing other one exhaust on each side respectively to supposedly improve the air flow but it does no such thing.
Now compare this with amazon basics cooling pad which has 4 blowing fans (1000rpm lesser than squall) still it outperforms.
Conclusions: Squall 300 a waste of money (dont tell me you wish to pay 2000rs extra for the riser)
Note: You cannot return this Squall 300 after buying, only replacement is possible
The primary motive of buying a cooling pad is "cooling" and not the "extra" features. So save yourselves a whole lot of money and get any simple 4 fan cooling pad or get the cosmicbyte meteoride or cyclone.
Edit - I confirmed my theory again with overwatch 2 this time
Amazon Basic cooler - Peak temp 85 degree
Squall 300 - peak temp 87 degree

I ordered Cosmic Byte Cyclone because my laptop bottom panel is ventilated in half top side, which matches the cyclone design, its centre fan being situated at more top.
Now Cosmic byte have delayed the delivery by 2-3 days (for which they are famous), my 3 orders they did same.
And this cooling pad is getting into my nerves because maybe its better, maybe not, but it have in-build stand, which can help my laptop raise further from desk. The gap created at bottom helps in much better air flow.
So is it good or bad ???

I have a budget deadcool cooler and I replaced usb connection with DC port and I use it with 12v adopter and before it barely gave diff of 1-2° and after this it easily cools down more than 10°. Full cost 1600 cooler + 100 12v adopter

i had purchased Asus tuf A17 a month ago and no matter how many games i play, the temperature wont go beyond 70 degree celcius. Is it normal for a laptop to be so cool ? I only use a laptop stand no cooler or anything. Btw your videos are really helpful sir
Cos it's a new laptop. Your thermals are good right now. So no cooling pad needed. You will be fine for 6-8 months more. After that that there will be dust build up and that's what increases heat

I also had 85-92C temps on my i7 laptop.
Did throttlestop undervolting to -142mV & repasted with Rs 600Cryonaut paste & after that it doesn’t go above 65C in most games & 70-75C in heavier titles.
Kryonaut dont last more than few months in laptops, i have used 2 1g tubes and now using 5.5g tube in less than 2 years. I switched to Cooler master gel maker on cpu though. My repaste dont last more than 3 months, kryonaut dries fast in laptops due to excessice heat. Its overclocking paste for desktops which dont go above 70 generally and are easy to repaste.
I use Intel XTU to lock turbo boost to max 3.8 gz instead of its peak 4.6 ghz on 17 11800H to reduce throttling while gaming.
@@FriendlyPCGamers I had repasted it after 2 years (2021-2023) when it startes reaching 75-90 in games like witcher 3 and rdr2 and it was still gummy looking and not dried out . Now second repaste after 4 months is still stable at 60-70C so YMMV. ✌️

I have a question. Does a cooling pad result in dust build up inside laptop? I have never used one and I was thinking of getting a cooling pad. But a friend on mine said that having a fan blowing air into the laptop would make dust build up and it will affect the thermals in the long run. Can you please clarify on that???
