I really miss the Turbostars, especially in the Carmine and Cream SPT livery.
They have class 385s now
Just wish that the Edinburgh to Perth and Dundee Line was electrified... :(
Ah the good old days
Before anybody idealizes the "good old times" here: let's P L E A S E not forget how shitty the older generations of DMUs were!!! class 158 had an air condition that never functioned meaning it was an oven in summer and an ice box in the winter. Class 165 didn't even have an air condition. Train lines all over the country got better and better since the 1980s but Scotland was (ONCE MORE!!!) left behind. Class 170-172 (Turbostar), a very normal DMU (really nothing special), was almost a "luxury train" on the rural lines in Scotland. And yet everybody was grateful that they came. Modern electric trains are always the best solution. Electrfication (on ALL standard gauge lines) cannot come fast enough.
2:17...brilliant
Why is the track gap at Larbert so wide?
Used to be 4 lines between the platforms with the current track being the slow lines, think it was like that until the 80s
2:15
Annie and clarabel have had a makeover.
When was this filmed?
Between 2013 & 2018
@@GJ37425 Knew it was around 2013 because I saw the SPT Livery
