Other than the name badge , what’s the difference between the 2024 Super Snake? Same 5.0 coyote motor, supercharged. Oh yeah…. It’s the 25hp difference all for $159,000

This will never be a '16 Mustang GT350 successor. Nothing beats OEM design & engineering. But the gt350r was a very exotic, epic drivers car/track car.. And the 5.2l fpc v8 was one of a kind. It was the Ferrari 458 of Mustangs. (& proof that massive horsepower is unnecessary) (And Im a hardcore GM/Camaro/Corvette/Cadillac guy.) 👍
Actually the first time GT350s or GT500s construction were handed over to Ford and completely built at a Ford factory was in 1968. Partly why 1965 to 1967 Shelby Mustangs are the most valuable.
I feel like with the Ford Performance offering of the 350 and 500, makes the Shelby American versions waaaay too over priced. Ford Performance was a huge bargain and honestly they made the cars more special. It is hard to look past that package from Ford. Before that it was always Shelby American doing there thing, just with a really big price tag. I have owned both 350 and 500 and they were amazing cars! It was always a little confusing to have a Shelby not made from Shelby America, so I don’t really understand why they went down that path other than history with Ford, but again amazing special machines!
2020 GT350R all day. It looks better, it had its own special engine, it sounds better, and most likely handles much better. You can get a 16-19R for 65 to 75 with very low miles. Were talking 15k to 20k miles for the mid priced ones.
Hey Austin, love your video! By the way, if you check out the Hagerty video at about 17:55 on the new GT350, they show a still of what the "carbon tub" looks like. Basically, the guy says the carbon tub replaces the carpet.
This is pretty strange from Shelby to launch this GT350 which seems to be (only) 20 hp less powerfull than the super snake…curious to watch the differences
Speed Phenom Great Video I think it's awesome that Ford unveiled the All New S650 Shelby GT350 or GT350R and I think it's crazy that they're only going to make 36 GT350Rs and I think they should be under 100k
People moaning it's supercharged....so was the original GT 350S ! People moaning no Voodoo .... hasn't been made since 2020 ! People moaning it's too heavy and too expensive, FFS....stop moaning and be thankful it exists at all !!
Why should we be happy for a car that can he built to the same spec when using a base model gt or dh? It's a scam ffs. What's next, a new gt500 with a coyote and a sc??
I would be happy with it if it followed the heritage of the GT350. We don’t just have to be happy “because it exists”. Do we have to be happy with the RSX coming back as an SUV too by that logic?
The GT350s was a one off, wasnt it? Afaik, the GT350 has always been a lightweight street racer with a V8 and manual trans. Why change the formula? Call it a 350s for the heritage. I'm always surprised when brands miss or mess up names on cars. They miss opportunities to make some extra special.
This ought be named a GT500 not a GT350. The original GT350 used a high performance 289 CI V8, and the essence of that vehicle was the handling due to the relatively lightweight engine. I know Carol has passed on but does no one currently at Shelby know the history of this car? The history of Shelby cars; despite the HP they just don't seem to be able to put together a vehicle that performs as well as the HP numbers would suggest. For example I doubt this car will surpass or even approach the performance the S550 GT500 made by Ford.
To me this appears to be supercharged Dark Horse mustang. Nothing wrong with that, but I just think that the S550 Voodoo seemed more special and bespoke. More of a drivers car
Yeah, that "tub" will be a striped interior lined by the carbon fiber tub. The "R" will be in the upper $100k's for sure with all the extra parts and very limited production. Basically unbuyable. Just get the non-R.
Looks like they are trying to generate interest in a failing platform? The price seems to be way out of line for product? Looks like minimum effort and doesn’t have what the last 350 had that made it a winner.
So basically it’s a S650 GT with a Whipple, a body kit and some decals. So it’s nothing special and they want that much for it? This is a failure in my book.

No, all it means is they removed the carpet and replaced it with carbon liners. They're not actually cutting out steel and bonding in carbon.

It would be an improvement if it was built off a Dark Horse because then it'd have the Tremec. As it is, it's just a base GT with the MT82.
I keep looking it up and getting different answers. Is this in official partnership with ford, or is this Shelby doing their standalone project?
Shelby standalone, similar to Roush or RTR

I'd rather have the 2020 with the FPC V8. Save the SC for the GT500.
It has the weak chinese made MT-82 transmission. They need to add a tremec transmission as an option.
Who...cares? I'll be in the garage building my GT and shopping for a blower.
As the U.S approaches complete auto Armageddon, people will look back at unaffordable Mustangs.
Pretty much all V8's especially manual N/A rwd ones will do nothing but go up in value when the day comes you can't buy one anymore.
