Always amazed by the long rides. Growing up and surfing South Jersey we had the occasional large day, but still never really had the long rides. It wasn’t until I was stationed in Okinawa that I really had some longer rides. But still nothing compared to these waves. Enjoy! You have no idea just how good you have it!!

Loved Haleiwa. I'm not the best surfer so I surfed mostly the lefts. Back in the late 80's and early 90's I would try to get there when a new swell started coming in so I could get a few rights before the crowd showed up. Back then you only had the buoy report on the weather radio and Joe Teipel on the radio for surf forecasting. The current there is massive. I would keep lined up based on a light standard by the bathrooms and the hills to the East.

We need to put a name on what J.O.B is riding. Is it a soft top? Is it a longboard? Is it a longboard soft top? Either way we need to give props to him for getting some of the best longboard waves and or soft top waves ever ridden at pipe. Whatever class you think the Big Pink belongs in we all need to respect the fact that he is hucking himself into full size pipe on a 9 foot slab of foam and charging it. Mad respect.
