Rick, love your videos and subscribed awhile ago. One thing tho, I am an O.R. Nurse and you have your mask on upside down. The metal part goes over your nose and you can squeeze it to make the mask fit better. Also be aware that with a disposable mask like those, once they get get wet from your respiration (usually takes about 3 hours or so) they are no longer protective from germs like mold or viruses (it's called strike-through) but will still help prevent dust from being breathed in. So use a fresh mask for each explore to stay safe Or one of the more expensive kind of ventilator masks. Cheers.
Hey Rick and Bekah .. I just wanted to say that me and the wife really enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work guys. Take care... From Cape Breton Nova Scotia Canada
Nice to see you finally got some dusk masks, the only thing is you have it on upside down. The metal band goes up so you can form it (bend it) around your nose to make a better seal, and the rubber band goes above your ears. They are a pain to wear they make your face sweat and feel like your recycling your own air ,but they do help and that's all that matters. Keep up the exploring.

Great video as usual and happy to see the masks. I LOL'd when I saw the stairs and heard your comments. Keep them coming and will understand why maybe no masks in some of them filmed earlier. Thanks ...
Loved your intro into this video! Glad to see you are using dust masks and rubber gloves, even though it was upside down. This house sure had some crazy steps in it. Love you guys.
Love your videos. I’m in northern Illinois around DeKalb. I have flagged about 20 abandoned houses within 20 miles of me, so far. If you get up here, I could show you some. Thanks
So funny you reading the sauce bottle. Over here in England it is pronounced Wustasher, even though it is spelt Worcestershire. Keep us the good work. Cheers Ian.
today on this old house, Norm, put the stairs in wrong, and we find Bob Villa really loves Green shag,, think ive seen that piano in another video, I need to get back out and start doing some videos again,, great job guys
Nice video, Rick and Bekah-your videos keep getting better and better! A few comments- 1) Several people have commented on the upside down mask, also on its flimsiness-very, very good points, as well as someone's comment about an uncle's surgeon discovering a chronic fungal infection instead of cancer during lung removal surgery. Spores, bacteria, (literally) aerosolized, um, crap that you encounter today can affect your health decades down the road-please invest in good ventilator masks-they're not that expensive. Not meaning to be sexist, just realistic-I'm a woman, a veterinarian, motorcyclist-driver, not passenger, former competitive shooter, and married 35 years to a wonderful, typical guy-may I point out that you're also a guy, Rick-you'd probably enjoy prowling around a Grainger Industrial Equipment store-lots of tools!-while zeroing in on a good 3M ventilator mask body for around $20 with replaceable filters. Y'all want to teach your grandchildren to play that little piano ditty like your grandmother taught you, right? 2) Yep, you walked right by the open doorframe that showed the hewn beams of the original log house, so that place is the product of major growth over decades, at least part of it well and thoughtfully accomplished-the front addition that included the purposefully exposed beams included that rock-solid brick foundation. 3) When you come across a piano (or organ), would you please zoom in on the maker if visible? Many of us love to research that kind of stuff-sometimes you can discover interesting facts about regional makers that help give clues to a house's history. I caught, on rewinding the video, that this piano was a Remington. Remington Pianos and Organs were one of several lines manufactured by the "prestigious" Starr Piano Company established in Richmond, Indiana in 1872 and known for producing very high quality instruments. The Remington line was sold as the affordable, but equally quality-built, alternative to the more expensive Starr name. The Starr Piano Company survived the Great Depression as an independent manufacturer and continued to produce pianos until about 1950 (source-The Antique Piano Shop). There's also the remains of the Starr Piano Company Warehouse and Administration Building, built in 1900, in Richmond, Indiana, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981 and delisted in 1995 (source-Wikipedia). 4) Did you notice that, though there was a little petrified food in the broken canning jars, there didn't appear to be much around the bases? Looks like they provided a little gourmet treat for the visiting wildlife. 5) And last but not least, Rick-the look in your eyes as you sang your love song to Bekah was worth the entire video, one hundred-fold. May you always look at each other that way, ten years, twenty years, thirty-five years and more from now.
Exploring with Rick & Bekah It was in the late 60's. I'm guessing around 1966 or 1967. It was one of the first things I learned in the book and have never forgotten it lol
There is an even older house hidden inside this one 2:54, exterior log wall with vertical siding over it, covered by interior paneling (see wall also at 2:31). 1920's style house on the outside, 1960's inside, with a very old heart. Love you guys, take care.
Worcester sauce lasts for ever. pass that bottle over 😂 I lived in a house with an upstairs like that and you had a passageway at the end with more stairs down to another room. the only good thing about stairs like that is they keep you fit lugging vacuum cleaners up and down then 😜 thanks for the video 😊
Very interesting and weird fine.,Notice that the up stairs bedroom doors had windows in both of them.. very odd layout. and who ever heard of putting carpet in a kitchen before? It would be interesting to find out the last people who lived there were , and what they was all about.. Until next time The best to you both be careful and stay safe..Ciao
Nice video and i love the intro. And in case you encounter black mold you NEED a mold mask because that stuff can make you sick, this mask is dust only.
Great video as usual. I thought I saw logs when you went through one of the doors and a lot of the lumber that was showing behind the paneling and wall paper looked very primitive. Yes that place was put together kinda strange. I don’t think they had a professional doing the remodel from what looked like a log cabin to begin with. I enjoyed.
My sisters house is built a little like this. The upstairs has 3 bedrooms and you have to step down then up again. It is in Kansas. But she cannot live in it either because it is full of green and black mold. It needs condemned but she does not have the money to do it. Nice video.
Exploring with Rick & Bekah The fire department used to burn old houses down but they do not do that anymore. It was like a training/controlled burn. She looked into tearing the house down but it can cost up to $6,000. She still keeps the grass cut and pays the taxes.
+Vicki Paczesny I saw it to. First at 2:55 the 60s era paneling is peeled back revealing logs! That is an old maybe really old house that has seen several remodels (none of them good)
aaaahhhh!!! that carpet in the living room is the same carpet in had in my bedroom as a kid!!! I guess I'm old, lol. looks also like they found building materials on the side of the road when doing renovations... exterior doors with Windows for the bedrooms?!? kinda cool, but creepy! can you imagine moving a dresser up or down those drunk steps?!? oh to be a fly on the wall...
Shag carpeting in the kitchen.definietly from the 70's! Looks like the place has been abandoned a very long time.My favorite was the home canning jars.
My uncle was actually cut open in preparation to remove his left lung some years back because he was told it had cancer. The surgeon stopped and closed him back up saying something didn't look right. Come to find out, he had fungus growing in his lung for decades. It is good to see you guys being smart and wearing masks. Also, please always tell someone where you guys are before going in any of these places. Take care.
here is a handy tip - when you see cans of food and stuff like that -if they have the box that says "Nutrition Facts" on the label somewhere - they are no older than mid 1990s - (though some products had things like "nutritional information" prior to this) - all the boxes were standardized in the 90s - this is how I know whether or not to pay closer attention when you are handling old food....heh
Checked on that Upright Remington Piano on there website.. & this piano is worth anywhere from $4,000.00-$5,000.00 depending on the condition * & how many inches it is across...42' is $4,100.00 in good condition}43" $5,000.00 ] 45" $5,000.00 } 48" $5,000.00 & 52" $5,800.00 it states the wood orginally was Polished Ebony or French Provincial Cherry... In what state is this home located? Thanks.... :-)
great video cool you have masks now . if its a building thats open you want need them much its if theirs rooms full of dust, mould and lead paint etc . i could understand you both fine
I have already nagged you about wearing a mask but Rick you have it on upside down the metal strip goes on top of your nose so you can pinch it tight - Becka please give your lovely husband a lesson in staying safe as we want you around for a long time yet exploring !! Jan U.K.
It's like When Scotty described the Enterprise A. "I think this new ship was put together by monkeys. Oh, she's got a fine engine, but half the doors won't open, and guess whose job it is to make it right."

we have those stairways here in the uk they are mainly in terraced homes and have been in use from the early 1700s..Terraced houses in the United Kingdom - Wikipedia
At the beginning right before rick goes inside and he says something about the mask u can see a set of little glowing eyes in the background towards the back of the house!!
Exploring with Rick & Bekah I can't believe it was just sitting there, doors wide open, no fence, no "No Trespassing" signs or anything!. Every abandoned place I've seen is locked and fenced off so perfectly and completely it's ridiculous You guys are lucky.
Hey. This is a cool video. Creepy with the vines and overgrowth. Reminds me of Chernobyl. I started abandoned exploring site 3 months ago. I only have 140 Subscribers but I was wondering how would I reach out to more people to get numbers like 10,000 sub. I feel im missing something. .
Honestly idk. We watched other videos and found what we didn't like and added into our own videos what we like. We wanted more time to look.. others skim around
You guys never disappoint. Great posts by your fans also: Log cabin, mask upside down (chuckle) and this guy stealing your videos (?) Really? It would be a compliment if it wasn't so sleazy and lazy. Rick sings? Waiting for another music video.
Ha, I don't sing, I don't even remember doing that. :-) several people have stolen our videos. the problem is they are usually messed up with the audio and stuff
If there was a squatter living somewhere in that house or a police officer near by you have just more than alerted them to your presence. it would be funny if the piano caused a thousand wastes to converge on Rick.
You two should always wear at least a dust mask in these old houses. You're constantly exposed to friable asbestos tile and other asbestos materials, not to mention lead paint.
Can’t respond to all of them unfortunately. We do consider some of course. And we’re very healthy despite what everyone says all the time. If a house has open windows etc I’m so not concerned about the air quality or anything. I also don’t have room to keep air masks etc in my small car all the time. Just not realistic. People are way too scared of everything today. America petrified of its own reflection.

It would be cool for someone to go and record some music on these old old of tune abandoned pianos. Great video as usual guys !!!

Such an interesting place. My goodness. I haven't ever seen stairs like that. Kind of funky.
That black home made looking thing was a jukebox. It looked rather real from our perspective. Cool explore in an out of tune house lol
This is just the comment I was looking for! Otherwise I was going to say the same myself.
Love your videos, had me giggling with the Barbie toy.... Very strange stairs indeed.
+Deana Stevenson glad somebody enjoyed our strange sense of humor 😁
After you all did your song, I have noticed some of the others started doing it
as well. See what a good idea it was :-) Regards, Ody Slim
Love the Love song. :)
I love how Bekah is so much more relaxed by the wasps hanging out but Rick doesn't even wanna be in the room.
So funny you reading the sauce bottle. Over here in England it is pronounced Wustasher, even though it is spelt Worcestershire. Keep us the good work. Cheers Ian.
cool video you find lots of cool stuff in those old houses

😊😊😊
"Here we go up a row to a birthday party." Beginner piano tune your grandma taught you . I played that once years before you were born lol.
+Just Me do you remember when you learned it?
Exploring with Rick & Bekah
It was in the late 60's. I'm guessing around 1966 or 1967. It was one of the first things I learned in the book and have never forgotten it lol

I spotted that to. I work construction. You are exactly right.
Like the new intro and editing is getting better!
Worcester sauce lasts for ever. pass that bottle over 😂

+Frankie Tortonesi it cost money to condemn the house?
Exploring with Rick & Bekah The fire department used to burn old houses down but they do not do that anymore. It was like a training/controlled burn. She looked into tearing the house down but it can cost up to $6,000. She still keeps the grass cut and pays the taxes.
at 2:54 you can see you guys have a log cabin converted to a regular house there.
Hunter RedBlood oh yes, good eye!
+Vicki Paczesny I saw it to. First at 2:55 the 60s era paneling is peeled back revealing logs! That is an old maybe really old house that has seen several remodels (none of them good)
Omg my great grandmother's house had that same carpet. I hated it lol.
aaaahhhh!!! that carpet in the living room is the same carpet in had in my bedroom as a kid!!! I guess I'm old, lol. looks also like they found building materials on the side of the road when doing renovations... exterior doors with Windows for the bedrooms?!? kinda cool, but creepy! can you imagine moving a dresser up or down those drunk steps?!? oh to be a fly on the wall...
I can't imagine getting anything up those steps. 😮
The stair creep me out with the cut out hole in the wall. Definitely from the 60s or 70s with the wood panels and shag carpets.
Shag carpeting in the kitchen.definietly from the 70's! Looks like the place has been abandoned a very long time.My favorite was the home canning jars.

ItIsNot1984 oh my gosh!,wow!
OMG Did you see the logs in the door. This was a log house at one time.
here is a handy tip - when you see cans of food and stuff like that -if they have the box that says "Nutrition Facts" on the label somewhere - they are no older than mid 1990s - (though some products had things like "nutritional information" prior to this) - all the boxes were standardized in the 90s - this is how I know whether or not to pay closer attention when you are handling old food....heh
Awesome. Good tip. Thanks
Adorable how Rick teaches Bekah all these things.
Thanks !
This is Tennessee
Thank you.. I truly enjoy all your video's.. You guys are the best part of my day! :D
Wow what an honor. Thank you
Your very welcomed... If your ever up my way... State of Ct... feel free to stop by! Would love to meet you both... :D
great video cool you have masks now . if its a building thats open you want need them much its if theirs rooms full of dust, mould and lead paint etc . i could understand you both fine
this was a cool little place 👻
I have already nagged you about wearing a mask but Rick you have it on upside down the metal strip goes on top of your nose so you can pinch it tight - Becka please give your lovely husband a lesson in staying safe as we want you around for a long time yet exploring !! Jan U.K.
PS AND it doesn't work if you take it off !!!!!
It's like When Scotty described the Enterprise A. "I think this new ship was put together by monkeys. Oh, she's got a fine engine, but half the doors won't open, and guess whose job it is to make it right."
And who did you learn those other two songs from? :P
You and mamaw. :)
can we hear Becca sing again
Nice guys 10k subscribers soon :)
Looks like a juke box. It says Disco.
One of these days when you say the floor and ground are not that far part there will be a vast cave under a house and someone will fall through the floor and keep falling through the ground into the vast cavern below.
The box in the crawl space played music. It said Disco on it.
I have a hunch that the stairs are constructed that way because of the walls on the main floor. Still, pretty strange.
Maybe the guy read the directions wrong when he built those stairs! lol
we have those stairways here in the uk they are mainly in terraced homes and have been in use from the early 1700s..Terraced houses in the United Kingdom - Wikipedia
some of the stuff they find in the house are good stuff and might cost a lot of money $$$
I wish I could've played ragtime on this piano
ive got the exact same couch set
You should have played Tifa's theme on the piano, a Gil would have fell out 😀
Those jars probably exploded on their own. Once bacteria start it produces gas and the pressure builds. AND POP!
Anyone else notice that this house is a log cabin? As they’re walking up the stairs, look to the left. You can see the logs
At the beginning right before rick goes inside and he says something about the mask u can see a set of little glowing eyes in the background towards the back of the house!!
Really ?? How do you all spot these things ? Lol
Exploring with Rick & Bekah 😆 it's at around 2:15 I had to watch it a couple of times lol
amy reese yes I saw that too, right at 2:14 not sure was it is but it is definitely a reflection of some kind.
Am I really the only one who's curious about where this house is? Also, how did you guys come to find it?
Driving around. We spotted it
Exploring with Rick & Bekah I can't believe it was just sitting there, doors wide open, no fence, no "No Trespassing" signs or anything!. Every abandoned place I've seen is locked and fenced off so perfectly and completely it's ridiculous You guys are lucky.
The thing in the attic was a DISCO jukebox.
Hear you just fine.
the way they set up that house is kinda weird but very good job
It looks like it was a log cabin and they kept adding on to it.
Neat :)
Exploring with Rick & Bekah Totally agree. Some videos, they dart from one place to another. Makes you sea sick.
Exploring with Rick & Bekah READ some concerned comments. It's MORE important than this reply. Rest assured.
3:36 :( So sad. Looks like they planted a garden, and canned the food. Allot of time and effort was put into the food.
cool
Rick's solo concert. ! Rick you need to wear tge mask all the time, not just for dust but almost for mold.
top of that black thing in crawl space said disco...couldn't read rest....maybe a children's little disco machine ?
I would wear those paper slippers over my shoes too so mold didn't get on them
That food is possibly still good.
A strange place indeed.
That place was super weird!
If there was a squatter living somewhere in that house or a police officer near by you have just more than alerted them to your presence. it would be funny if the piano caused a thousand wastes to converge on Rick.
That Piano has Rock Hard Dampers and loose tuning pins.
Looks like someone remodeled an old house and they were definitely not an architect.
All the canned vegetables tells somebody was was working hard in that house at one time.
Visto
You two should always wear at least a dust mask in these old houses. You're constantly exposed to friable asbestos tile and other asbestos materials, not to mention lead paint.
In this video you had the mask on upside down....lol medal strip goes on the nose and u pinch it up to keep it up on ur face and keep the dust out.
look at the exasperation date will give you an idea when they left, most food is only good for one year.
532mystic exasperation date? lol. I think you mean expiration date
70-80 decor but the house is much older. It is a log home.
A fine example of a hillbilly engineered home likely whilst alcoholic beverages are consumed.😲
All kinds of yummy stuff in there.....NOT! 😝
It's a shame they don't read or respond to comments. Clearly they need to learn about their health safety.
Exploring with Rick & Bekah Appreciate your responding! Just stay healthy y'all. Best wishes.
Don't forget about your shoes . please don't walk in your home after that. :)
Not to be rude but you have your dust mask on upside down!
we can hear you just fine with the masks. Better to be safe you two.
So sad. Somebody loved this house and planted beautiful flowers.
