He's obviously very uncomfortable and it's awful to watch this. You should never confront anyone with their worst fear ever without their permission. Even if you think their worst fear is pathetic. Not cool. That's the definition of phobia. Not cool man.
For anyone who is upset that they didn't hear the story about his wife's mother, he told it in another interview: he said his wife's mother has an entire room full of porcelain dolls and that he was too scared to go in it, which is what he was trying to get across here.
Because I think he genuinely is a bit phobic about those dolls, and he was willing to expose that to all the screaming admirers. I don't think he's the typical screwed up straight guy. If you look at his bio, he's not a cookie cutter person.
My respect shot up because he didn't knock it out of her hands or off the table. I know what it's like to have phobias and you can tell he's literally on the verge of crying which means he's more than just a little bit phobic of those dolls. So the fact that he didn't get up and leave, he didn't get physical and he kept it together earns him mad respect from me. I know it's all in good fun and it's good for us to face our fears but it's hard enough when you're calm and willing, let alone ambushed in front of an audience and cameras.

I totally agree. I have a phobia of a specific animal and I've found that the minute I tell anyone about it, they send me pictures of it or bring the actual animal around me trying to be funny and not believing that it's a real phobia. This was wrong and rude of ellen to keep at it, especially after Channing repeatedly told her to stop.
+Mikhail Kalashnikov +LipGlossShiney I completely agree. I love Ellen's show but this made me feel very uncomfortable. As someone who has a phobia, I could totally understand what he felt, and believe me it's not pleasant, to say the least. He was terrified at the mere mention of these dolls, but then to go and shove one in his face. Nope. That was going way too far.
i kind of think this was mean of Ellen; clearly this is a true fear of his, i don't know why she took it into her hands to have him confront it for her entertaining and laughing purposes. people forget that actors are humans with real lives, feelings, fears. etc.
I like how the description of this video is . " He confided in Ellen about his phobia. Big mistake ." and I think that is the best description ... That was so mean of her push that in his face when you can see he is visibly uncomfortable .. I mean... She just made a joke out of this guy's fears
They weren’t meant to be scary. Some movie producers in the early 20th century just decided to make creepy movies about possessed porcelain dolls and other similar stuff e.g. cymbal-clapping monkeys and clown jack-in-the-box toys. On the other hand though, you’d be hard-pressed to find any twisted scary movies/stories involving super-creepy possessed teddy bears, probably because teddy bears don’t look like hyper-realistic miniature humans and so they’re not seen as “creepy” by the general public.
Celebrity: Yeah, I just have THE biggest fear of sharks. I mean, it's always terrifying to see shark movies. Ellen: Mmhmm. Celebrity: . . . Celebrity: Oh don't tell me THAT YOU HAVE A FUCKING SHARK HERE Ellen: *pulls out shark*

The word phobia was clearly misused. If he had a phobia his reaction would have been much more extreme. He wouldn't even have let her get that close to him with that doll. A phobia is an irrational fear of something.
+Annabelle The Doll It would make sense if he didn't watch the movie because it features a pretty similar kind of doll that he's terrified of.. Is Annabelle a porcelain doll or another kind of doll?

Joshua Sparrow It most likely stems from an event in your childhood that caused you some trauma. Been uncomfortable around them ever since.

I am 100% agreeing with Channing on this! I have ALWAYS been freaked out by porcelain dolls. My grandma gave me a jewelry box with a porcelain doll head on the lid, and I could never open it. I hid it in the back of my closet. LOL
I have trypophobia and if she showed pictures to me I think I’d have a panic attack like seriously Channing was very chill with his fear I would literally faint.
that will forever be a mystery. What if what he was going to say had nothing to do with dolls? What if he was going to say that his wife's mother is illuminati...
Man that's really inconsiderate of Ellen to do that to Channing. I would not like someone to shove my worst fear in my face like that. It would make me feel so uncomfortable.
At him because he did the candle and my mom can’t answer my room and blame me for it and funny enough I need the music I don’t see that funny that his way of all of that out
Sometimes I feel ellen takes it to far with people's fears. I lie her and all but I think she does. You can tell he was legit scared. She didn't have to bring it that close to him.
Oh please...it was the movie Small Soldiers that made me fear dolls. The movie wasn't scary, but after watching it I had nightmares of dolls attacking me. I used to own a lot of Barbie dolls when I was a child. I kept them in a plastic crate. Because of that movie, I ALWAYS make sure that their arms and legs weren't sticking out through the holes of the crate because I feared that having their limbs sticking out will motivate them to come to life and attack me. There was this one time, I placed the crate of my Barbie dolls next to the wall and before I went to sleep, I heard scratching noises. I looked at the crate and one of the Barbie dolls had her leg sticking out through. Seriously scared the living crap out of me. Since then, I stopped owning a doll.
Finally someone who understands me. I'm terrified of porcelain dolls and I almost cried watching this. They're so creepy I can't look at them longer than 2 seconds.
She is not a mental health professional and this can do serious harm. Some phobias can cause panic attacks and hospitalizations. There is something to be said of exposure therapy, but only by a professional in a controlled setting. Not on talk show where they are humiliated, and where the condition could be made worse. Ellen probably doesn't realize the seriousness of some phobias, if she does and still did this than she is not the person I thought she was. I usually like Ellen's show but this was wrong.
@Gmail com not really. Mental health issues just aren't always dealt with in poorer nations. We are all human. Refugees, from third world nations, often have phobias associated with smells, or things they saw while experiencing traumatic events. The object, sight or smell may not be dangerous in itself but the human brain associates it with that event anyway, that is true of anybody not just people in wealthier nations. We don't know what caused Channing Tatum's fear, it is unfair of you to dismiss it as a, "first world problem".
Honey, when Ellen asks you about your fear, there's 2 things that are GUARANTEED to happen: 1) Some mascot of your fear will come scare you, or 2) SHE HAS THE THING/ANIMAL you're scared of and 3) if you're unlucky, she'll have BOTH.
Happy birthday Channing Tatum. U were like The Terminator, when i watched 22 Jump Street. Love u dude, I'm your number one huge fan... my first favorite Actor. I love playing Football. May the Peace be with u. From Harlingen Texas. April 26, 1980 April 26, 2020 through April 26, 3020
My dad's friend is a stunt driver and he's stunt driving for a new movie Channing Tatum is gonna be in and I'm gonna meet him and I think I'm gonna die of excitement every time I fink of it!!!
I have a 2 1/2 foot doll named Amy that likes to wake up in people's beds when they stay over. Sometimes that mischievous Amy likes to hide in the bathroom in case anyone decides to use it at night. You just never know where she'll show up. She's such a character.
Danielle Law No it's a doll that's currently standing in the corner, waiting for someone new to sleep over. My cousin passed away in her early thirties, and her mom had a doll made, dressed it in one of Amy's dresses from when she was little, and gave it to me. I know where ever Amy is, she's looking down laughing at how many miles that doll has gotten in my house, scaring the crap out of people. The best is hearing people scream out at three in the morning, when they roll over to see a doll suddenly in bed with them. Or it's hiding in the shower, pantry...That Amy get's around. If they have the door closed I stand her right outside of it on my way to bed, so she can 'greet' them as soon as they walk out. She's a character I tell you, a real jokster.
_Oh my god._ Seriously, can people not take a joke anymore? To all you people getting butt hurt over this and saying that this was _"mean"_ of Ellen, I'd like to point out that Ellen does this _all the time,_ for your information. She's always trying to scare her guests. If it offends you then _don't freaking watch._ Ama O I get that you think this was "mean" of her, but like I said, Ellen does this a lot. She was joking and I'm sure Channing knows she wasn't trying to be mean. And ***** your comment was "fucked up". _It was a joke._ Don't you get that? Also, there is a difference between a fear and a phobia.
+Hanabi Hyuga Maybe people overreacted here, but you can't be serious about your statements, are you? "It's not a joke because she does it all the time' "It was a fucking joke.' I have a friend who got sexually assaulted, her attacker said the same things. If she didn't loudly protest the first time he hit her, there was no reason to react to the protesting the second time. It was a fucking joke, sure it wasn't meant to be mean.' Now before you go all donkeyballs on me, I'm not comparing cuddling a doll to sexual assault, I'm just saying the logic in your comment and the way you're stating that shit is unbelievably dumb and incorrect. We can give some critique to Ellen if we think she needs to hear it. And if this is not what most viewers believe is enjoyment, Ellen should make a note of that and try again nextt time. It's called feedback.
Widdekuu91 _"I have a friend who got sexually assaulted, her attacker said the same things."_ _"...I'm not comparing cuddling a doll to sexual assault..."_ Then what are you doing? And why is it that I'm dumb for thinking that all the backlash Ellen received for this was uncalled for? Unless Ellen _really_ and _truly_ offends one of her guests, I don't think it should really matter all that much. Tatum was fine and he seemed to know she was messing with him. Tatum and her audience members were laughing as well. Some people just like to complain about everything, so of course some people would say this was "awful" and "mean" and blah, blah, blah... I believe feedback and stupidity are two different things, but people like to give excuses as to why they are idiots.
+Hanabi Hyuga I am not comparing it, I'm simply giving an example of how those words can hurt. I never ánywhere said that Ellen assaulted him with the doll, I only said that what you just said, was BS. And that what you were doing, was similair to what the attacker did. A.k.a. stupid. (again, ofcourse the situation with the attacker was different, which is very obvious. So obvious that I felt it wasn't even worth stating that in the first place.) Everyone has a different life, everyone has different levels of agreement. You are not the one to decide when others can feel it crossed the line. Clearly some people felt that. 'I don't think it should really matter" well it seems we disagree then. Not everyone just 'likes to complain' this is giving feedback to Ellen. It's really easy to see the difference between people complaining and people giving feedback. One is: 'Omg stupid fuckcunt with her fucking lesbian face, how dare she fucking do that to Channing, omg omg hate her.' The other is; Omygod, I think that went way too far!? Who else agrees with me? Why the hell did she do that?!" (If you still feel that the second comment would be 'complaining' and therefore in your world, not acceptable, then go to the seachbar, search for 'Grouch Anthem' and listen to the words carefully, it'll save me a lot of typing.
my whole motto in the moment "you shove a doll on my face I shove my fist on yours!" I hate dolls with a passion can't stand being alone in the room with one.

this was so insensible of Ellen to shove up that thing to Channing's face like he was genuinely so scared and uncomfortable ...she should stop making people uncomfortable for popularity and views ugh

I am 100% agreeing with Channing on this! I have ALWAYS been freaked out by porcelain dolls. My grandma gave me a jewelry box with a porcelain doll head on the lid, and I could never open it. I hid it in the back of my closet. LOL
I have the exact same fear as him
+Josh Bordeaux Me too.
+Josh Bordeaux Honestly a lot of people are afraid of such creepy dolls and clowns. Damn they're a nightmare.
Yess, same!! I can't stand porcelain dolls. I got chills running down my back throughout this video.
I have trypophobia and if she showed pictures to me I think I’d have a panic attack like seriously Channing was very chill with his fear I would literally faint.
And I have meglaphobia to huge faces and bodies on statues
I have the same fear..I cringed when those dolls came in the shot..I've always had that fear, I get nauseous and freak out when I'm near them.
Omg yes i hate hate hate them so bad god thts y i nvr played barbies as a kid, they freak me out >
+PATI LISA No one will know except the person you replied to,me, Ellen De Generes and 100,000,000,000,000 others.
So.. what was he saying about his wife's mom?
Maybe she collects them?
Bitsy83 that's what I was thinking
that will forever be a mystery. What if what he was going to say had nothing to do with dolls? What if he was going to say that his wife's mother is illuminati...
We will never know
Lol he has the IQ of a bag of bricks.
Man that's really inconsiderate of Ellen to do that to Channing. I would not like someone to shove my worst fear in my face like that. It would make me feel so uncomfortable.
Shoving someone's fear into their face isn't going to make them feel better about it. Ellen was needlessly cruel with this.
Actually, really old porcelains dolls's hair was made out of real dead people. So there is a reason to find them creepy D: I hate them....
Thats a myth. I used to believe that to, but after some investigation i found the hair was artificially made.
I'm talking about when artificial hair didn't exist.
Doll makers would often use the real hair of the girl the doll was being given to to make the doll.
Dolls are creepy.
my grandma give me her old one so its a old one i was scared of it now im mutch more scared
The first doll is so gothic and cool. Some people are scared of dolls and some aren't.
You are not along Channing...you are not alone
How to win against Channing Tatum in a fight...
Channing looks traumatized
He does frfr
She should've made it automatic and jump out at him.😂
👍
That'd be so mean. 😂❤️
At him because he did the candle and my mom can’t answer my room and blame me for it and funny enough I need the music I don’t see that funny that his way of all of that out

Sometimes I feel ellen takes it to far with people's fears. I lie her and all but I think she does. You can tell he was legit scared. She didn't have to bring it that close to him.
he's still alive isn't he ! lol
@@ablairoca1193 Dude. Phobias are no joke. It’s legit traumatizing for some people in the world.
“I’m scared of singing”
Smallfoot: *has Channing Tatum sing in two songs*
This is why you never tell Ellen your fear :I loooool She will get you!!
It would be worse if the dolls blinked.
Just imagine if one of the dolls screamed or someone dressed up came out and scared the shit out of him xD
Finally someone who understands me. I'm terrified of porcelain dolls and I almost cried watching this. They're so creepy I can't look at them longer than 2 seconds.
ha! so great, I'm glad this clip is up :) I came here from the IDMb message board of "Friday The 13th The Series" lol
LMFAO What if that thing would have screamed and scared the shit out of him. I would have died....
too cruel man, too cruel
I can't believe Channing Tatum is afraid of Porcelain dolls.😂😂😂
I want both of those dolls. They're gorgeous.
Ellen would pick the most terrifying looking porcelain dolls ever made... Lol
He's so lush. Nobody that is in love with him could do that to him.
Come here Chan. I'll protect you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Honey, when Ellen asks you about your fear, there's 2 things that are GUARANTEED to happen: 1) Some mascot of your fear will come scare you, or 2) SHE HAS THE THING/ANIMAL you're scared of and 3) if you're unlucky, she'll have BOTH.
"You're seriously going to ruin my entire life."
Aww. Poor guy. Lol.
the description was perfect.....confined in ellen about phobia... CLASSIC
How can Be Super and then Super Adorable.
That would've been THEE perfect time for somebody to come out and scare him lol

CLASSIC MISTAKE
Thank You! I needed that today. That was Epic!!! 👏👏👏
Thanks for your love and support
My dad's friend is a stunt driver and he's stunt driving for a new movie Channing Tatum is gonna be in and I'm gonna meet him and I think I'm gonna die of excitement every time I fink of it!!!
Lucky!
NOW I'LL NEVER KNOW WHAT HE WAS TRYING TO SAY!!!
now we didnt hear what his wifes mother
I have a 2 1/2 foot doll named Amy that likes to wake up in people's beds when they stay over. Sometimes that mischievous Amy likes to hide in the bathroom in case anyone decides to use it at night. You just never know where she'll show up. She's such a character.
Stacy Steele not funny
aewtx She's adorable.
Are you talking about your daughter?
She's a character I tell you, a real jokster.
umm either your'e lying because you said I and not Amy, but if it is real... DESTROY THAT DOLL
What's important is he took it with good humor. If he started crying, I would have felt real bad for him I think.
Ellen's like: Ooo pretty...!
He's like: OH HELL NAW!😫
Yeah we saw
Does anyone else think the doll looks like selina gomez
The first one
+Payton Ray it kinda does
I think it looks like Liz Gillies ( Jade from Nickelodeon's show, Victorious )
+Patricia Soufan thats also very truu the whole freakish look (not in a bad way) accept the doll is creepier!!!!
I dont know who tf "selina gomez" is
I'd just say I'm afraid of cute little pupies so she would bring them lool
Ellen is gonna go too far someday
Sel8CakePop M I’m late but she already has, she caused Mariah Carey’s miscarriage
You were right!
When she pulled it out I was like oh f..k f..k f..k f..k f..k
_Oh my god._
Seriously, can people not take a joke anymore? To all you people getting butt hurt over this and saying that this was _"mean"_ of Ellen, I'd like to point out that Ellen does this _all the time,_ for your information. She's always trying to scare her guests. If it offends you then _don't freaking watch._ Ama O I get that you think this was "mean" of her, but like I said, Ellen does this a lot. She was joking and I'm sure Channing knows she wasn't trying to be mean. And ***** your comment was "fucked up". _It was a joke._ Don't you get that?
Also, there is a difference between a fear and a phobia.
Cyrus Yep
so true people overeact to much she was just joking and may I piont out that even he was laughing provong that is was a joke
+Hanabi Hyuga Maybe people overreacted here, but you can't be serious about your statements, are you?
"It's not a joke because she does it all the time' "It was a fucking joke.'
I have a friend who got sexually assaulted, her attacker said the same things. If she didn't loudly protest the first time he hit her, there was no reason to react to the protesting the second time. It was a fucking joke, sure it wasn't meant to be mean.'
Now before you go all donkeyballs on me, I'm not comparing cuddling a doll to sexual assault, I'm just saying the logic in your comment and the way you're stating that shit is unbelievably dumb and incorrect. We can give some critique to Ellen if we think she needs to hear it.
And if this is not what most viewers believe is enjoyment, Ellen should make a note of that and try again nextt time. It's called feedback.
Widdekuu91 _"I have a friend who got sexually assaulted, her attacker said the same things."_
_"...I'm not comparing cuddling a doll to sexual assault..."_
Then what are you doing? And why is it that I'm dumb for thinking that all the backlash Ellen received for this was uncalled for?
Unless Ellen _really_ and _truly_ offends one of her guests, I don't think it should really matter all that much. Tatum was fine and he seemed to know she was messing with him. Tatum and her audience members were laughing as well.
Some people just like to complain about everything, so of course some people would say this was "awful" and "mean" and blah, blah, blah...
I believe feedback and stupidity are two different things, but people like to give excuses as to why they are idiots.
+Hanabi Hyuga
I am not comparing it, I'm simply giving an example of how those words can hurt. I never ánywhere said that Ellen assaulted him with the doll, I only said that what you just said, was BS. And that what you were doing, was similair to what the attacker did. A.k.a. stupid. (again, ofcourse the situation with the attacker was different, which is very obvious. So obvious that I felt it wasn't even worth stating that in the first place.)
Everyone has a different life, everyone has different levels of agreement.
Why the hell did she do that?!"
(If you still feel that the second comment would be 'complaining' and therefore in your world, not acceptable, then go to the seachbar, search for 'Grouch Anthem' and listen to the words carefully, it'll save me a lot of typing.
my whole motto in the moment "you shove a doll on my face I shove my fist on yours!" I hate dolls with a passion can't stand being alone in the room with one.
Clock Wise right Fukin creepy as Fuk....I have nothing with eyes in my room.
I love how she climbs on his seat and kinda just holds him while putting the doll in his face xDDD
I thought those dolls were actually kind of adorable. I want them

If you don't think dolls are creepy, go check out Ghost Hunters- Doll Island.
Wasn't that just so adorable? I love Ellen and Channing was such a good sport through it all. Thank You Channing!
this was so insensible of Ellen to shove up that thing to Channing's face like he was genuinely so scared and uncomfortable ...she should stop making people uncomfortable for popularity and views ugh
I also hate porcelain dolls. But I hate them because I saw "Ghost Hunters, Doll Island".
Bro we need to lock Ellen in a room with her biggest fears and see how she reacts cause this is just cruel
Gosh, I completely get him, these frigging dolls are by far the creepiest shit on earth to me.
Oh my gosh I hate those dolls too lol I had like 4 on my nightstand when I was little and used to just stare at them before I passed out and fell asleep xD They're kept away now in my closet haha
He's right in saying it's creepy and what did he expect to happen on the Ellen show 😂
He wouldn't like The Conjuring XD
That one still haunts me lol ugh
