Then complaining because they organisation got upset at you for posting harmful information (reckons he was only seeking answers, pull the other one). I just read your letter (March 5, 2017) and saved it as it concisely contains everything I have found wrong (and it's a LOT) on the mormon church (and what a godawful mess it is). Great job and thanks for your help.
It's been 9 years since I last attended a LDS Chapel. It's great to see that things are progressing well to expose this duff religious claim of restoration that creates much harm (amongst any good) with it's false theology. The sincere members are great, but the church is not. Those with a conscience to stand for something better will struggle to remain, knowing the full story and the facts.
Once LDS folks realize there is no such thing as LDS leadership receiving revelation from god, the church will lose it's "power". In the mean time, people are waking up to the racist and sexist past of the church. Jeremy still wonders what the charge is...what did he do wrong? He didn't commit a grievous sin. My question to Jeremy is, "what does it matter?" Does a loss in faith precede the sin, or vice versa? Does that matter when there is supposed to be a savior of the world who would forgive either? What does holding a court have to do with Jesus Christ? It is a political action of men pretending to be authorized of God. The Good old Boys Club wants you out, then you're out. You are an amazing person Jeremy. Ignore the political b.s.
Kangaroo courts, cultural intimidation, threats of financial ruin and list rolls on. However, the most destructive damage is placed on the shoulders of young children. They're forced to accept mind numbing dogma, ritualistic ceremonies and are to accept that their very existence CAUSED the torturous death of Jesus. The latter creates a sense of self-loathing and guilt.

I am a never Mormon subscriber, but I am wondering how long it will be until there are more ex-Mormons in SLC (and Utah in general) than current, active Mormons. When will that tipping point occur? In 2011 I was in SLC, UT for a business convention. I went into a bar for a drink and the bartender had a black T-shirt that said “Ex-Mormon Drinking Club”. I had a great conversation with this young man! I asked this young guy if there was a beer he recommended. He suggested the “Polygamy Porter”. The label had a tag line, “Why have just one”. 😎

Whatever. Run people. Don't drink the kool-aide!!!! It's a cult, not a church.
You want to get along in the Mormon church you must follow the PPO. Pray, Pay and Obey! What the church is doing is making an example of you as a warning to others that openly question the church and it's doctrine.

It always bothers me how the General Authorities come out with new books every year and how costly they are to the LDS consumer. The poor can’t afford their books. There should be only a minimal cost to the saints. The church leaders are profiting from these books!
There is an old saying that one of my former bosses in the army always used to utter when approaching a thorny conundrum: "Roma locuta est. Causa et finita!" This means simply, Rome has spoken, the cause is finished. Here in Utah we say, "the brethren have spoken, there is to be no more thinking or discussion on the matter". It is my observation that the official church here in Utah is not unlike being smothered in marshmallows, or being drowned in a vat of Jello. It can start out to be a "sweet" experience, but in the end, like all cults, it becomes stultifying.
For anyone who actually bothers to research the origins of what Jeremy is presenting, he is revealing the truth and not being an anti-mormon at all (anti-mormons lie). I researched most of these things and KNOW that the church has conned us. They are anti-nonmormons! How I wish I hadn't wasted years of my life with con artists. Hopefully, as time goes on more and more of the young will do the research and walk out on Mormonism. There are other churches and religions that are much more honest with people.
It is good that these courts held within the church are exposed, yes he could have walked away, but great to see the one sided church courts in action.
I know this is an older video, I just have to comment. I've been inactive for close to 20 years, no longer a believer. I was a bit meh about the whole membership thing. My son sent me the CES Letter, recently. I read it and dang I can no longer be silent. I found out this month that the resignation of my church membership has been accepted by headquarters. In my mind, if I stayed and padded their membership, I am in a way complicit in the heinous crap they do. I feel free, after 50 years of membership.
How sad. Being punished for telling the truth. If the glory of God is intelligence, shouldnt we be able to research facts? Shouldn't we be able to question?. The Mormon Church is a bundle of secrets 🙊
In relation to the Church wanting local leaders to hold the Church Courts and be responsible for excommunication(s) might be the legal implications that can be taken against professional Church dignitaries (insofar as they are salaried) and Lay Church Leaders. This is more a question than a statement.
Maybe a new caveat of the "word of wisdom" will be to abstain from reading and sharing any derogatory information whether true or speculative about the church.
When you have to threaten retribution to someone for not believing the same as you, that's not an example of love, it's trauma bonding. (referring to ex communication)

On the point of silencing you guys, Mormons LOVE it when converts to the LDS share their story, but HATE it when ex-Mormons share their story. It was the same in the church I was raised in (Seventh-Day Adventist, SDA). They LOVE the testimony of people that convert to SDAism, but HATE the opposite.
I find it amazing that the Sandra Tanner interview shared the same points and arguments and Dehlin seemed to feel much more confrontational about her position. I know he was still actively Mormon at the time but it still makes me wonder why? Though she wasn’t excommunicated, maybe that’s why it seemed much harsher towards her position of questioning the Mormon church?
Jeremy, I am very proud of you for questioning & seeking answers. It sounds though as you were only seeking answers to your doubts regarding Mormon history and not the doctrine. One of your videos mentions the Muslim faith. I'm curious as to why one would believe Joseph Smith with his revelations over Muhammad who also claims to have received revelations from God. I realize there are some translation errors in the Bible but don't Mormons claim to use the Bible (as long as it doesn't contradict the Book of Mormon). I'm also curious as to what Mormons teach as the gospel. I'm glad you were able to make the break from Mormonism. I will pray that you will soon begin your search for the truth.
Why is Valentine's day so special? It is just another day to my wife(of 31 years) and myself. We are still very much in love and do not need some special day of the year to declare our love for each other. I bring her flowers about five times a year and not in Valentine's Day, another marketing ploy by the merchandisers.
“Obedience and conformity is more important than morality and integrity. Mormonism is based on authoritarianism.” 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Growing up evangelical, the one verse that was quoted consistently was that “all authority was appointed by God.” Therefore, we should actively seek to be an “armor bearer” to our leaders, to support them- and that the Bible says to question them or not support them will “incur judgement” upon ourselves.

Its weird how they keep saying joeseph smith wrote the book of Mormon through looking at a stone in a hat like it explains everything? well ok that being true isn't that miraculous, can we investigate this process more?
its CON! They lied about how he translated LDS history! Yes LDS lied not Jeremy. The history is so bad lol joe should have said he built a spaceship and flew to moon and sun to talk to sun people. Did not happen but LDS would have not told anyone he said that or did that. Hide history, delete, change, ignore. My statement is an example not actual history! My fiction story. Delwyn maybe English is not your first language. Obvious if you study what is going on. Rock seer stone is in SLC UTAH in locked vault. They pull them out from time to time. No one has got magic rocks to work from my knowledge.
The problem is that the church doesn't teach that that's how he translated it wrote the BOM. They say and teach that Joseph translated the plates touching them, reading and translate them. That's how the movie about him and the restoration shows ND that's how missionaries teach it. If there's nothing wrong with the use of a stone and hat to write the book then why the church doesn't want people to know.

Just hearing this. As a never Mo I really struggle along with many others about the trauma people feel about being excommunicated. If you feel that strongly about the churches teaching just keep quiet until you find another church where you can worship. In the rest of the world no one really cares about the Mormon church unless there is something illegal. Excommunication is just not a big deal. Your local news should cover this but national news only covers things of interest to the whole country. Most people just think it’s just those crazy Mormons. I didn't know any thing about this letter until now. On one hand I can relate to things said. On the churches prospective you could understand how they may feel like their being torn down and can't support that.. We never knew Joseph Smith personally. Why not judge the church on the merits it offers now than digging up past dirt before our time?
Well, simply put, it's because the LDS Church itself has insisted that faith in Joseph Smith's vision and books is the foundation for exaltation (salvation, by normal Christian standards).

Why would he care if he was excommunicated? He does not believe in it. So why all this big show? This has always caused me the biggest problem with these people. Then a parade of people come to the microphone and tell how his letter brought them out of the church. Edit: I don't yet know how his meeting went but I was thinking that this video and the comment section could be used as evidence.
My question is with the individuals that decide to leave the Church, do they still believe in God? Eternal life? In the Mormon Stories interviews, I never hear that point of view from the individuals.

Do you think posting harmful information in a public forum about an organisation that you supposedly value, without being sure if the information is true or not, is a good approach or gentle? Then complaining because they organisation got upset at you for posting harmful information (reckons he was only seeking answers, pull the other one). I also want to know why he is surprised that he was called to a priesthood meeting to discuss his actions? Jeremy made promises or covenants in his LDS Temple and then broke those promises and got the consequences (reckons he left on his own accord, right mate, like it wasn't coming). There is no surprise here unless he really didn't understand the LDS religion and what he was getting himself into when he did his endowment.

Hola saludos como hago para poder tener copia de la carta actualizada del 5 marzo del 2017 le agradezco gracias
Jeremy Runnells is literally a modern Martin Luther and is a genuine hero
"OBEDIENCE" (5:00).
Do LDS church leaders not know that obedience is the number one rule in all totalitarian governments?
it all falls back to "they are inspired leaders". If you don't believe that you are so much more free to use critical thinking.
Does that remind you of our present mad king Donald's idea of authoritarian rule!

Once LDS folks realize there is no such thing as LDS leadership receiving revelation from god, the church will lose it's "power". In the mean time, people are waking up to the racist and sexist past of the church. The LDS church is changing things now in their Endowment Ceremony to be more appealing to feminists and women in general. The temple used to tell the woman to hearken to the man as he hearkens to god and now the woman can just hearken to god. They also now allow people to be married in the temple right after a civil marriage. They also changed the policy of not allowing kids of LGBTQ parents to be baptized. They are obviously losing members and trying to show they are appealing to feminists, LGBTQ, and people who get civically married first.

Thankyou Gentlemen. I appreciate you both.
It's too bad the LDS church did not turn out to be moral or ethical.
Why, why is it too bad? They were a cult from the beginning, started by a fortune telling con-man that has ultimately led millions astray. This organization has been another false religion inspired by Satan.
Thats what happens when its founded by a highly immoral fraud and pedophile

I am a never Mormon subscriber, but I am wondering how long it will be until there are more ex-Mormons in SLC (and Utah in general) than current, active Mormons. When will that tipping point occur?
In 2011 I was in SLC, UT for a business convention. I went into a bar for a drink and the bartender had a black T-shirt that said “Ex-Mormon Drinking Club”. I had a great conversation with this young man!
I asked this young guy if there was a beer he recommended. He suggested the “Polygamy Porter”. The label had a tag line, “Why have just one”. 😎

Being forced to go to church until I couldn't take it anymore at age 12. It was horrid as all Mormon's know of my Uncle and apparently my action's were a direct reflection on a man 2 states away. Whatever. Run people. Don't drink the kool-aide!!!! It's a cult, not a church.

There can be no honest scrutiny when the final answer has already been determined.
When someone labels valid criticism of fantastical claims as Anti-Mormon rather then challenge them point by point, you know who has lost the discussion. Name calling is a clear signal that one has been overwhelmed with the evidence.

I love what Jeremy is doing. How can the LDS church survive?
+Klarity*11 Can not, did ENRON make it. LDS IS LIKE YUGO CAR SOONER THAN LATER THE COMPANY GOES BUST

It was Valentines Day. They wanted to screw him over.
Why is Valentine's day so special? It is just another day to my wife(of 31 years) and myself. We are still very much in love and do not need some special day of the year to declare our love for each other. I bring her flowers about five times a year and not in Valentine's Day, another marketing ploy by the merchandisers.

Growing up evangelical, the one verse that was quoted consistently was that “all authority was appointed by God.” Therefore, we should actively seek to be an “armor bearer” to our leaders, to support them- and that the Bible says to question them or not support them will “incur judgement” upon ourselves.
This "church" is laughable. If its message were true, it could endure scrutiny, openly.

No one has got magic rocks to work from my knowledge.
yes please. the church is constantly researching as much as they can about it, and releasing what they see fit as "not all information is needed".
Mormonism explained:
1. A young treasure hunter with a history of being a con man was chosen by a deity to dig up ancient golden plates, translate them by use of some carnival sunglasses and magic rocks, beg for the money to publish it, and then deliver said plates to an angel that took the plates back to Disneyland.
2. God has a wife, Mrs God? If Mormons on Kolob are supposed to have an infinite number of wives, why does God only have a single wife?ua-cam.com/video/fyl-68PrYVk/v-deo.html
3. Sacred Underwear has magic powers. ua-cam.com/video/6cbfgmorIGE/v-deo.html
4. Reformed Egyptian existed as a language leaving no archaeological traces.
5. Old White dudes in Salt Lake City receive? direction from a Deity on Planet Kolob.ua-cam.com/video/qfBBcqkaewY/v-deo.html
6. An ancient civilization existed in the Western Hemisphere consisting of Lamanites and Nephites in a limited geographical area that hasn't been found.
7. Joseph Smith's wife caught him having sex with another woman and he told her that God commanded him to have many wives. Mrs Smith believed him. Mrs Smith certainly wasn't the brightest penny in the pile!
8.Blacks were banned from the? Mormon priesthood because they remained neutral
in the Great Celestial War !?! However, in 1978 God telephoned the head
of the LDS and removed the ban on blacks. This, of course, had nothing
to do with the Federal Government's threat of the LDS losing its tax
exempt status for being a bigoted organization violating basic US civil
rights.
9. Both Ann Frank and Adolf Hitler are of the same religion as they have both been posthumously baptized in the Mormon religion. In Mormon heaven, aka Planet Kolob Jews and Nazis live together in loving peace.
10. Actually the Mormon men are too busy to fight as they have to copulate with their infinite number of celestial wives. Every copulation leads to the creation of a human soul.
11.Joe Smith also wrote that the moon is inhabited by people dressed like Quakers: www.mrm.org/moon-men I don't know why the Apollo missions didn't encounter these moon men.
These 11 topics are only what I could write from memory. Please correct me if any of these facts are erroneous.? If Mormons are named after the "Angel" Moroni, then why don't they call themselves Morons? I can't claim credit for this last statement as it

Because all the teachings of the church come from smith supposedly from God. But it's all a fraud so the church has 0 legitimacy.

Why would he care if he was excommunicated? He does not believe in it. So why all this big show? This has always caused me the biggest problem with these people. They "want the church to leave them alone." But they can't leave the Church alone. And what does he says he feels he is being punished for writing the letter? He is very clear that he no longer believe. So, what is the big deal? Attention.
That's terrible being excommunicated. Only faithful members in good standing are qualified to judge others in their sins, so now Jeremy can't speak critically of church history anymore :(

+Caleb pretty sick how LDS people operate on lie's. Think if your were LDS and told a friend they know something but are actually completely lying to them. Pretty sick, ENRON said they have done nothing wrong lol. THE LDS SUPPORTERS REMIND ME OF SAME PEOPLE CLAIMING ENRON IS GOING TO PAY DIVIDENDS AND EVEN WENT ON CNBC. TRUTH THEY CLOSED THIER DOORS HOW SAD
I laughed watching this as Jeremy is saying he isn't bringing people out of the church and they don't have a reason to excommunicate him. Then a parade of people come to the microphone and tell how his letter brought them out of the church.
Edit: I don't yet know how his meeting went but I was thinking that this video and the comment section could be used as evidence.
BOM did not take place in Central and South America. It took place in North America. Ardena and Hopewell
There is zero evidence for, and a mountain of counter-evidence against, this assertion.
What about all the copper mines found in Michigan mined around the time of the Ardena/Jaredites. I agree to disagree.
@abstractmilk2 what does that have to do with the book of mormon?
My question is with the individuals that decide to leave the Church, do they still believe in God? Eternal life? In the Mormon Stories interviews, I never hear that point of view from the individuals.
