Martina Navratilova said that she wished Emma hadn't done that. She said that often when people pulled out of doubles to prioritise singles it often didn't end well. She was right.
There is something about Emma I do not trust, I get a spidy sense every time I see her or hear her speak. Something a tad entitled about her.
She should not have said yes. 2 things... Wimbledon messed up the times that's why she pulled out, she never had wrist problems, she never even showed up for that singles match. Didn't approach the net. I don't see how Emma gets a free pass here. Andy isn't saying anything public because he was pissed.

Andy would have got all the attention, she would have been left on the sideline.
Andy Murray should have asked someone else for mixed doubles ; knowing that Emma is only just recovering from considerable surgeries and being prone to injury also . She was playing well in the singles , the added pressure couldn’t have done her much good . A nice reasonably good tennis player unknown would have been much better .
He chose her as he was probably desperate to win a final game.

Andy chose Emma because she is the most beloved UK female player at the moment. He wanted to give the crowd a show, it was never about winning. Emma clearly prioritized her own success once she saw she had a chance to reach quarters, which most tennis players will understand. Unfortunately they both lost out.

Its a non story every year people withdraw from doubles if they progress in the singles. Just bad timing for murry, not her fault
It is her body, she knows how much stress her body can take. Should she have put her risk to injury aside and played the doubles just to please some of the British public and Judy Murray? She has only just come out of a series of injuries and is beginning to play better and better gradually. I don’t think any body but her has a right to the decisions she makes. I’m sure and hope Andy Murray will be more sensible about having himself gone through similar situations.
I think theyvwere very quick to give her an honour when their are plenty in the country who deserve this honour..and she gets it for playing tennis what has she really done

She was overjoyed to be asked by Andy, and then bottled out for no real reason, no class whatsoever. She should never have said yes so that he could have asked someone else. Going after Judy Murray here is pathetic - she is the mother of our greatest player ever who would routinely play through injury and fatigue. Raducanu is just being a wimpy kid who should get over herself. If she hasn't got the conditioning to play mixed doubles and a singles then she is a pretty poor professional.
if murray & his brother had won their doubles match instead of losing in the first round, then andy murray would have been able

Had Andy & his brother Jamie not been so unceremoniously knocked out of the Mens singles in R1 he wouldn't have had reason and perhaps hope to maybe redeem himself with Emma, who compared to his brother, is a highly talented Tennis player. But it didnt happen because of the reasons given by Emma which were professional and sensible due to the circumstances of scheduling and for Emma not to jeopardize her singles. Just a shame, a shame for Andy, shame for Emma and a shame for supporters and Tennis lovers to have enjoyed this dream team even when Andy,s ability is now compromised thru injury and why he is calling it a day. Who cares what his Mother thinks.
The scheduling was the big issue as Radacanu might have had to play 3 x matches in 48 hours. ALSO exactly how many farewells does AM need. At the conclusion of the men's doubles there was a 20 minute on court interview with Sue Barker along with a gathering of past and present tennis stars to pay tribute. AM's family including his mother were there. The mixed doubles with Radacanu smacks more of a money making promotional stunt dreamed up by a business advisor.
Come on Andy has had his day let’s. Get on with tennis just waiting to see who goes out next don’t need to mention any names but when they do it will be a joy to watch tennis in peace and enjoy not have to listen to all the rubbish that’s going on who wants to know just let us watch our sports in peace will read all about them in news casts that’s enough thank you ❤

EMMA has never claimed to be English, she doesn't need to justify it, she only has to speak to confirm via her accent (Bromley, SE London) that she was indeed reared, educated and has resided in England since aged 2 and has therefore earned the right to successfully acquire English Citizenship.
I for one am glad of her decision to assume English Citizenship with England having the only girl to do what she did (no other country can lay claim to a similar achievement) and to successfully extend GB's stay in Billy Jean Cup !!

Judy Murray is an over bearing mother. Living fame & fortune & through her 35 year old son. Now, she wants to control Emma's career! Enough said!
Oh emma u wuda won the mixed doubles & shuda dropped out of the singles.
She was put in a compromised position by Andy who will fully understand. He was injured and chose not to play singles. He played with his brother but lost after asking Emma who has never played doubles with anyone at a major tournament.
They were highly unlikely to win the match under those circumstances. It would have been more of an exhibition match. Yet it was Wimbledon. A farewell. But he got the ceremony after losing with his brother.
Andy should have included the caveat. If you are no longer in the singles will you play doubles with me. She was always going to say yes and it would have been an honour and had she not been in the singles event she would have played. It was always a gamble and Andy knew it. Nobody can put any guilt on her shoulders. She is s singles player.
Andy put her in that position. He asked her. So Judy can be annoyed or anything but humble too. People need to stop causing trouble between them and be realistic.
