What a great album.👍✌
First had this album in 1974 when I was 22..still listening at 70..brilliant
An extremely creative album. One of my all time favorites.
Been a fan for many many years, I've always enjoyed this album, definitely one of my personal favorites for sure.✌
one of the best jazz fusion albums ever recorded.
I love this album!! It is never not great to hear. I'm so lucky I saw them perform most of this at Keystone Berkeley back in the day, great memories...
And don’t forget second wind! I met Bryan Auger in 1996 at the baked potato in LA.. He hit a couple a notes on the keyboard and I knew it was him.
Yup lennox langton is my bestie.
One of the best albums ever and the best Hammond B-3 player around. What a great musician.
check out chester thompson when he was with tower of power.
As much of a Brian Auger fan as I am (from the early Jules days to CDs with his kids, and I have vinyl of 4 or 5 of his Oblivion Express days), and even though the bulk of the tracks on this CD I have heard either in the studio or live versions, I'd never heard Whenever You're Ready until 2 days ago, on Deep Tracks on Sirius. And that homage to Trane's A Love Supreme was what blew my mind. What a talent Maestro Auger is, along with Emerson, Lord, Argent, Wakeman ... these are the titans on keys.
Purchased this album in the mid 1970's. Now have most of his albums. One of the best keyboard virtuosos.
Bass Guitar - Barry Dean
Congas - Lennox Laington Drums, Cowbell - Godfrey MacLean Lead Guitar - Jack Mills
Organ, Piano, Electric Piano, Synthesizer [Moog], Mellotron, Vocals - Brian Auger
A COMPLETE MASTERPIECE. I have almost all 37 albums but still missing a few. Not to many people that are younger now probably never heard a keyboard player like Brian Auger. My favorite years were 70 thru 80 when here recorded on the R.C.A. record label. This music will never sound like this again. I want to thank Dave Miller for this download.
Saw Tony Monaco recently. Kept feeling I had already heard his excellent playing somewhere before. FUNKYB3! Check Tony out too!
I heard every word u said I am 75 yrs old and yeah
Timeless. For those who love time is endless.
Those days in Paris with Spoon back 71-73 Gil Evans' out of the Cool to sleep and osibisa akwaba to wake. Coffee pernod
Tnx Bro
For me the proverbial you can only have one album on a stranded island this is mine. Listened to this album for a year every day until I had every note from each musician in my head incredibly rewarding to listen to this album. I may have lost my last opportunity to see the band live. The y played in Tucson once but I Wes out of town Bryan if you come to the west side of the USA I will be first in in-line pleaslet me know
This is my last bucket list thing todo
The 1st album I ever bought after hearing a good part of it on a progressive rock station in Pittsburgh. Was a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh. Still means quite a lot to me even after all this time. Brian Auger and Chick Corea got me thru college in great spirit.🙂

My opinion: one of the best albums of the ‘70s! I saw Brian Auger and he said, “I’m older than everyone in this room and I will kick your asses!” No doubt, he showed us! GREAT MUSIC..
Didn’t want “Whenever You’re Ready” to end and certainly not as a fade. Should have gone on for the whole of Side A! Awesome album.
Dave, thanks for raising this Classic LP. During the 70s and 80s the NYC & NJ Clubs wrapped their strong arms around JazzRock Fusion. This vinyl Gem reminds me of a precious intimate Concert Club where "all were welcome" to Listen & Meet the Greats, such as, Brian Auger and the Oblivion Express or Roy Ayers' Ubiquity, and they would Perform ALL NIGHT LONG!!! It was called 'The Joint In The Woods'. A Nostalgia Landmark. Today, those unprecedented Experiences are reserved for our GODSent Memories. And, Thank FATHER GOD for our Memories. We keep them Spinning on our 70s Turntable.....
Great AMERICAN NOSTALGIA Music Channel, Dave Miller🎶🇺🇸
Well said. LOVE this stuff. Not sure how I found it in Texas.
Awesome stuff
Cut #3, "Light on your path" is pure heaven!!
Set the way back machine for a huge calm n Carrollton ave living room peavey amps and 6 foot towers driving this album after work with an "illegal smile" spreading across my eternity...
Brian’s playing on Inner City is total class. He inverts his phrasing fabulously...
Merci "Dave Miller" 🌺 via Brian Auger's Oblivion Express❤🎼🎹🎺🎸🌺🎧🎼🎼💙🎩🎩🎩
Will always be in my top ten list. Brilliant.
Thanks " Dave Miller " for this great Album of 1973 💖♪ ♫ 🎸🎷 🎻🎹🎺🌺🎧🎼🎩🎩🎩
FreeStyle ! SoYeah!
Kicking back here in the Philippines remembering seeing him in person in Philly back in the good old days
Just came back & ended up listening to this whole album again..... man I always enjoy this album.....
Brian Auger...smooth as ice...intuitive Organ player, not many better.
I saw them, on this tour @ a small club in Milwaukee, WI. The Stone Toad. One Helluva show!
This brian Auger album is the BEST!!! "Happiness is just around the bend" ...
Some of the Southern Rock station DJ's ( GA & AL) would throw down some Brian Auger every once in a while. Those were days! That's when college radio really mattered and lead the way.
Agree with all the below comments. Seen him live three times. So.kin.good x
Sublime. Many decades since I last heard. Thanks for sharing and for YT for making it available
......AND, HE IS THE ORIGINAL C0MPOSER OF THIS TUNE,,,,,
Fantastic work. I had the great pleasure of hiring and playing with Brian Auger for one of my recordings, and having breakfast beforehand. One of the cool ones, great stories, no attitude.
I still have the original vinyl I bought in '73 when I was living in the SF Valley in LA.
I also have a couple of his other albums butt, this is one of the best of all and, not only Brian's.
Thank you. I was 19 back then.
I wish to thank you for this post. Why is this album so hard to find? Awesome thx!
Great cover of Inner City Blues. Marvin woud be proud. While Light On The Path have a distinctive Santana's sound.
Yes Lennox definitly did bring the Latin spirit ....& Alex the voice of Santana.
Brilliant.
Thank you, cousin.
I'm liking this
My favorite album by BA&OE........
Great album. I bought it when it came out. I was stationed in Germany. All my buds were listening to Deep Purple and Uriah Heap. Not me. Smoking hash and tripping on this album. Started listening to Brian again recently. Lot of catching up.Thx for posting.
Me too. Had a couple of his albums in the early 70s but then lost touch. Catching up now with his various bands since then. Btw, went to high school in the 60s in Germany (Hahn AB) and yes, had a blast!
Bad Tolz ring a bell? Southeast of Munich. Spent some time there in early 68. Now the terror is in the AIR! can't see, smell, taste, hear or feel it but it's there, festering, mutating threatening everyone. WHAT A JOKE! love this album.
A++++
ua-cam.com/video/J8TcHlSdAS4/v-deo.html steve👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻stumbled across this interesting character who dissects and reacts to great 70’s music 😊he has an eclectic taste you might enjoy!
THE MAIN INGREDIENTS MADE THIS SONG MORE INTO DISCO DANCING TUNE, BOTH ARE GREAT.......
Absolutely superb. So was Brian Auger listening to Steely Dan or vice versa? (I suspect both!)
Walter Wanderly could wipe the floor with this guy.... just messin' with you. I'm sitting here reading the April 1977 Keyboard issue with Brian on the cover....
Hey Dave, are you Steve's boy? Kidding. Great upload..
"Light On The Path".............
Dla mnie to brzmi jak grupa SANTANA tyle że bez gitary Carlosa.Ale w porzo ,Auger to jeden z ciekawszych wykonawców przełomu lat 60/70
Appreciate the upload, but I wish the quality of recording was alittle better
Me too. I converted this from my 1973 LP, RCA Victor, 'dynaflex' vinyl. Used Sound Forge Audio Studio to do the conversion, and used their vinyl restoration feature, but that only goes so far. It survived college dorms in the 70s. Just took it out to look at it, and noticed the inner sleeve is oxidizing! It's closing in on 50 years old...!
@@davemiller2310 Hey man, I just grateful to be able to listen to this great album from beginning to end!! Thank you!!
Sacarumbi.
No doubt this is a great album but his album from 1969 is the best hands down
Brian. Prolly married to a B-3. Prolly affairs with several other B-3s.
Who is the singer on whenever you’re ready?
The Man himself
Brian Auger
This album (as well as Straight Ahead) was recorded after Alex Ligertwood left the band, which required Brian to get back to main vocals. Alex then returned on Reinforcements
