Hey aero! Loves the videos. While playing do you always recommend topping up after losing small pots? I play 1/3 with a 300 buy in, so say I lose 40 should I top up?
@zacharycadima734 if your worried about loosing $40 in possible value then top up if not dont worry about it. $40 less in your stack won't affect getting a all in bluff thru most likely. if your down over 10bb top up imo

I'm actually not nearly as aggressive as a lot of other pros. I think it's not as proffitable in the lower stakes and I think it's a mistake that a lot of smaller pros make for the 1-2 and 1-3 stakes. You can't apply the same strategies you learn from high stakes pros to small games. Even many of the strategies you learn on my own channel cannot be applied to your typical one-two or one-three game.
Good evening areo, i’m a new young aspiring poker player (19) and have gone and played live a few times and came out profitable. My last session i became card dead and just flustered to take down a big pot from sitting there for so long, for ex i had kings, raised pre flop checked down hoping to set a trap that never game. The main hand of my concern was my last one where i got it in with a tight opponent who folded ace king pre flop in $1/$3. We both limped in i have jack 10, i flop a straight 7,8,9 , I bet $40 he calls, turn comes a 9 so i check thinking he either has a set or open ended and he wants to shove but ends up checking after 2 min, river comes an 8 double pairing the board with 2 cards that help his range more than mine, so i check again and he leads out for $80 i figure i’ve been trying to get it in on a brick that never came and i had $150 left behind so i shove, he calls after 3 minutes with jack 8 and hit a runner runner full house. Any tips on how i should play hands like that better? Thank you and i enjoy the vlogs a lot!
@@initial1497 you should never, EVER check a straight after the top pair pairs again. You should actually bet huge. You'll get a 9 to call while not giving hands like his a free card. Are you playing at an Indian reservation?
How would you suggest your opponent play his set of 4’s? I think he played it perfectly, with two people interested before and lots of draws I think he has to raise there
In a normal situation, I would agree with you, however, you have to change your play based on your opponents, just like how I changed my play against mine to make the max and how I don't bet huge in 1 on 1 situations even with a flush draw on board. Button took way too long to call the flop. There's no flush draw there. A flush draw from me would be way too coincidental. At worst case scenario, I have an over pair here, which is only 2 outs to be afraid of. No straight combos from either of us makes sense for the action. So personally, I would go for a second check raise on the turn with his hand. If any Broadway card hits the turn, me as the aggressor would go for a massive bluff yet again, or he can just lead the turn if it makes the board start to look too scary. Deep stack play uses a lot more deception than your typical 100 big blind game.
I was curious about how you would've navigated with flopping a set of 4's in his spot as well. Excellent explanation and insight. ❤Happy 10-year anniversar❤ Happy to hear you're off to a good start in August, results wise. As always, I appreciate the vlog!
There was no way for opponent to get max value with his set against A high, he might get hero to bluff once or twice, if he’s lucky maybe hero will go for a triple barrel, but hero will likely give up by then. The problem is that opponent can’t have very many bluffs here given the extra player in the hand, so it makes it easy to get away even if hero had top pair or overpair.
In your AJo hand, where your opponent had the set of 44s, would it be better for him to check raise smaller? With a smaller check raise, flush draws and Qx would continue. Or is it better to flat there?
In a normal circumstance such as a limped pot where you have no information on the callers, or in different positions, a big check raise here might actually be warranted. But since this is a button vs the blinds situation, especially with how long the button tanked before calling my small c-bet, we will very often have extremely weak hands here. You can make a tiny raise here if you suspect the original 3-better of having something like a Q or over pair, but you'll lose the button for sure. I think a flat is better because you'll highly increase the odds that one of us will take another stab on the turn.
18:41 i don't understand why a naked J (J-10, AJ,etc) is impossible here. Those would be able to flat with, but too weak to jam with a short stack. The $50 c-bet is guaranteeing a little value before shit gets real and his hand is 100% face up. Please explain if you have a minute. Thank you Aero! 🧐
It's the information that the opponent is an OMC facing a $75 pre-flop 3-bet with a starting stack below $500. He will have AJ, 10-J suited, etc type of hands 0% of the time. It's the classification of player. OMC's are extremely conservative. A random unknown rec can certainly have many Jacks here.
@AeroPlaysPoker ok, gotcha. That makes total sense. Thanks man! Headed to the MSPT tourney next week - need all the pointers I can get, even after 20 years on the felt😂
Also love you you ai commenting.. and clearly are much older than the ai voice... makes for a cool mystery of what vegas pro is behind the scenes of these vlogs
Great video, any chance you can explain why you would need to get 900 to make the call with Pocket queens in order for it to a profitable call around the 17 minute mark in the video) I like the fold I’m just unsure of the math portion I’m guessing you need or want 20 to 1? Thank you! Keep up the great work!
I thought I had the Q of spades. Watching over the video, I actually had the Q of clubs! Without the Q of spades, it's just an auto-fold. But let's assume I wasn't high. You have less than 5% to hit a two-outter with one card to come, so yes I would need over 20 to one vs the bet to be able to make the call, AND I would have to make sure that if I do hit, that I'll have the winning hand. That's why in Vlog #6 I was able to call for a 2-outter for $80, and yet fold here for $45.
@@AeroPlaysPoker Thank you very much! I was hoping I was on the right track, it’s greatly appreciated! Makes perfect sense. I think it’s time to binge your other videos I like this one and can’t wait to see what else you have in store 😁
Whenever I'm behind, I use mathematics to compute if I should make a call based on implied odds. Otherwise, I use psychology to determine whether I have the winning hand or not, and if I'm able to get a fold from my opponents if not. Nothing is ever left to "feeling." Like some rec's make terrible calls and answer that they just "felt" it coming. Explain that to your spouse when you come home broke the other 9 sessions!

@@markhellie6837 lol. That would actually be a GREAT way to play 5-7 of clubs! Unlike how to play a set there. But he was extremely tight. He was the same guy who voluntarily showed the set of Aces on that 10-high flop, turn A. Tight recs like that who voluntarily show their hands have no reason to lie. He was also asking me how to play certain hands once he realized I had a vlog. In another hand that he played that I don't have on cam since I'm not involved, I asked him if he had AK at the end of it. He answered yes. I told him I already knew from preflop due to his 3-bet bet sizing. I advised him he needed to alter his bet sizing so that he's not playing so face up. @@bcoon123 that’s what I was thinking when he said he doesn’t even bother to limp KTo on the button. That hand is so far within a BTN open range so it surprised me.
No no I say I don't normally even bother to limp K10, but when on the button, I'm willing to play it even against a 3x raise :D I only open with it on the button if against the blinds
Aero: I saw a video that there is a strategy is to isolate pre flop with any pocket pair with positions to isolate the field and try to against the recreation player heads up. What do you think of this? My personal opinion would be kinda of risky but better to rely just to hit the set to win which aggressor can have more way to win.
Not my personal style also. If 3 bet with small pocket pair and get jam on it’s hard to proceed and deny equity in case set hit on the flop in the long term which it’s not a profitable move. Your style and coach is so far I think the best
@@jasonsitu5287 Mark's style may work for a confident professional, but it won't be the easiest lesson to teach amateurs especially at the 1-2, 1-3, or 100 big blind 2-5 structure. I show tons of aggression with my bluffs, but they're all based on reads of the situation. His style is extremely aggressive, and people will start to notice how often he raises and 3-bets. Fine for an experienced pro to navigate, but I'm not so sure for intermediate players trying to learn.
@@AeroPlaysPokeryea his name is Marc, his style is very aggressive which he also raise UTG with K 10 off , very hard to navigate. Whereas the hand you would have folded UTG. Of three bet frequency is too high it can be easily exploited by other people by 4 bet more with AJ AQ KJ KQ etc
@@kylinwx I take notes after every hand, or as soon as I am able to if I have to play more hands back to back. I also lift the phone to see the table cards at the end of every big hand, which helps to record the suits.
serious question, whats your vpip would you guess? or what does your range look like from each position. Youre obviously a tighter player but youre also obviously a winning player, so im curious what hands might be in my range that you refuse to play
Aero: Yesterday I played a session where there was a spot I knew both opponents range was capped at one pair or less. And I still didn’t have the courage to apply pressure and end up didn’t pull the trigger on turn and river and end up show down was a middle pair on the flop as a winner after I just bet 50% on the flop and go check on turn and river. Should have fired big on blank turn and go all in on the blank river which I was the pre aggressor. Like Doyle Brunson saids you need to have the courage to bluff and that’s when the skill comes in which was why my skill level is still not good enough. I need figure out a way to enlarge my courageous
It's a terrifying thing. You're standing there on the ledge and you know you don't have a single pair lol. I tell those I coach that you shouldn't bluff very much on the 1-3, but if you do decide to do it, you can't make a weak attempt or "stab". You need to commit. A bluff needs to be as strong as a monstrous hand. How much would you bet with an over pair? Your bluff needs to look just as strong, and you bet needs to commit as well.
@@AeroPlaysPoker This is exactly it, and another thing that makes it difficult is that the max buy ins tend to be a lot smaller, so you (or the villain) usually don't have enough to make huge bets on the river.
1:20 look, I know you won the hand, but this is a losing call. I’ve heard this called “reverse implied odds” If your opponent has a better Ace you’re going to get annihilated and lose piles. An opening range has a ton of mid-strong Ax - I’m defending with A7 suited for the price but A7o is just a fold. I know it feels like we’re “getting a price” but your equity pre is so, so low most of the time it’s just indefensible to call in that spot. Glad you won the hand tho, helped you get off to a good start for the session
Incorrect. If my opponent made a strong bet on the flop, I would just fold. 😂 Keep in mind I also play deep stack. $15 investments on speculative hands are made all the time. I don't intend to "lose piles" with top pair no kicker!
@@fransfermont6193 Kind of strange that you've made the exact same type of comments on other similar hands that I've played, and yet I somehow miraculously end up winning these sorts of hands, like when l bluffed Q8 off. I've already admitted I'm no GTO wizard and I don't play perfect, standard, or very predictable poker 😂
@@AeroPlaysPoker I’m not saying you’ll lose piles in a given hand I’m saying in the long run you’ll lose piles VPIPING garbage from out of position. This is the second thread I’ve interacted with you where you handwave constructive criticism away and point to results as if they’re all that matter in hand discussions. Again I’m not salty or angry about you winning the hand and feel you played it fine postflop but preflop is the most important part of poker and bad preflop decisions like this add up over time.
@whirlingdervish69 Are you an online player? 🤔 Because in my experience, post flop is massively way more important than pre-flop. Preflop hand ranges can be taught to any robot or someone new to poker entirely. That does not ensure post flop play, how to read a situation, or an opponent though. Or a grown man with a spoon? Weapons by themselves are not nearly as dangerous as the person who wield's them.
Question: over the month of July it shows you played 61 hours… is 15 hours a week enough time to know an accurate hourly when it comes to standard deviation?
For a single month, no. A single month won't prove anything in terms of hourly other than you might have run great or poorly. July just happens to be one of my worst months this year. 😭 That's why I've been keeping the vlog updated about my monthly records and have data going back to the beginning of March, for a total of 6 months worth of records :D

@@GodimirthetoplaneGod AQ suited 3-betting over a 3x button raise is almost a necessity. The button will open raise against the blinds with a huge majority of complete garbage up to and including 6-7 off-suit, 9-J off-suit, Ace-rag, and a whole mess of utter nonsense that's simply capitalizing on the fact the blinds are out of position. AQ suited here is ahead of like 95% of the hands the button will open raise you with. Regarding 5-7 suited, I would personally never play such a hand out of position for such a large raise amount, but different strokes for different folks! I played with a guy last night who cold-called a $50 raise with 10-J off-suit. Regarding shot taking, I am personally against such a thing unless you have the bankroll to support stepping up. Don't just do it nilly-willy hoping for a big score before returning to your normal stakes. Once you have the necessary bankroll, which I advise is between 20-30 buy ins for whatever stakes you plan to step up to, only then should you start taking shots to see if you're ready for the move up.

Happy Anniversary! I am just commenting to keep the algo pumping. It’s whatever. Like your play style, I think people over bet or big bluff way to often where the only time they are gonna get called is when they are drawing dead or smashed. Like your mix of GTO and deception. Keep posting

I agree one of the best coach so far!
You gotta love seeing a new Aero vlog!!!
❤Happy 10-year anniversar❤
Happy to hear you're off to a good start in August, results wise.
He’s back
In your AJo hand, where your opponent had the set of 44s, would it be better for him to check raise smaller?

Nothing is ever left to "feeling." Aero: I saw a video that there is a strategy is to isolate pre flop with any pocket pair with positions to isolate the field and try to against the recreation player heads up. Not my personal style, but there's more than one way to be proffitable at poker.
Not my personal style also. If 3 bet with small pocket pair and get jam on it’s hard to proceed and deny equity in case set hit on the flop in the long term which it’s not a profitable move. Your style and coach is so far I think the best

Thanks Aero. I need to have more experience on the table and able to analyze more detail during the hand like you
@@AeroPlaysPoker This is exactly it, and another thing that makes it difficult is that the max buy ins tend to be a lot smaller, so you (or the villain) usually don't have enough to make huge bets on the river.
