I can't tell you how many times in the last 6 months I have started to order a doordash and then cancel it when I saw the total at the end. It is wild that you can't get anything at all for less than $40
I think you are paying delivery surcharges for the taco bell. Here in Vegas it's still pretty cheap. We always get the deluxe cravings box that has a cheesy double decker taco, chalupa supreme, 5 layer cheesey burrito, your choice of cheese and chips or cinnamon twists and a medium drink for only $7.
The delivery services jack up the prices. If you look at the Taco Bell app chips and cheese is like a dollar less than what you showed. I also live in Southern California so I don’t think prices change from where you are to where I am (south Orange County) so I hope that makes you feel better about Taco Bell. I remember chips and cheese and a bean burrito (my lunch everyday during the school year) cost like 2 bucks and change so I get the inflation thing but just keep in mind not only do the delivery apps charge fees to deliver and service fees - they also charge more for the food than if you were to go yourself. I still use those damn apps though cause who wants to go get Taco Bell at 10 at night? Welcome to the future haha. I ordered ihop from DoorDash and my total before fees and such was like $15.
