    I had this guy and the Mutron III in the 70s. The Mutron died years ago but I stupidly sold the Bi-Phase in the latter 70s so that I could buy an MXR Phase 90. I wish still I had the 70s versions of any those pedals just so I could sell them now.

    Great work. This is amighty modulation pedal for an analogue device, it also astounded me regarding the complexity, hence your mistake with routing. I personally love, especially the resonant sounds. Definitely one to look out for, if you have the real estate, which gas always put me off the Cathedral. Having said that, the Holy Grail is named as such, because finding a quality simple stereo verb, at a fair price is like a Grail quest. I probably wouldn't kick a Cathedral out of my board, a phaser? Not so sure, It's siren song does lure you in though, especially with a decent dirt box sandwiched between It's layers.

      FFS, just read that back, it sounds like the filthiest type of fanfiction, lol. It just goes to show what an attachment we have to these devices, bordering on WRONG

      😂😂😂 Maybe it was a bit much... but I also totally agree! 😂

    Surely "in B" should be correct for the "dirt in between" sound? Then your signal is going guitar > In A > Phasor A > Out A > Mind Flayer > In B > Phasor B > Out B > amp.
    If you had set B to "In A" you'd be running the two phasers in parallel from input A and the output of the Mind Flayer would be going to input B which would be going nowhere. You'd hear the Phasor B effect (only) on your clean signal.
    I think your real problem is that you were in "Gen 1" mode so the phasers were in lockstep and you couldn't tell which was doing what to the sound. If you'd put B into "Gen 2" mode you could have got the LFOs out of sync and had a better idea which was which.
    But you're the one who's got the thing, maybe I've misunderstood how that switch works.

      You could be right! Tbh, I filmed this video ages ago and I no longer have the pedal to go back and test this. I was just going by what the manual says, but it's still pretty confusing.
      I think it runs the two sides in parallel if you plug into 'A' and out of 'B', but I added a jumper cable to send 'A' back into 'B'....so idk. There are just so many routing options with this pedal! 🤷🏻‍♂️

    I like phase in different places for different moods. Sounds really good in the wet loop of a delay.
    I love all the features of the bi-phase, I just don’t think the phase tone itself is exactly what I want. I dig the EQD grand orbiter. Have a phase 100 but don’t like how it gobbles up all the bass frequencies.

    It's phaser before dirt for me but I always make sure I have one fuzz before because Fazer can sound seriously obnoxious. Which is good.

    I have had one for about a month now, trying to get to know it, hence the reason I am watching UA-cam videos, there isn't a synth in or near the price range, that comes anywhere near it, for sound quality. I wonder how much giving it Bluetooth would have done to the price?. A big shout out to you, thanks for sharing.

    Do you need regular expression pedal or one who send voltage to vc in?

    Thought they stopped making them but it looks like you can get one on Thomann for $144. Thats a good deal if this is what you are after.

      Andertons. Shipping it to Hawaii from uk was under $150us as I recall. It was about the only option I could find and it was the cheapest & new. All the used ones were more which is kind of funny.

    I'd get an EHX over this any day, simply because after you buy the special power supply this needs, they're the same price & the EHX sounds better imo.

      @@PedalExperiments I guess Pulsar, but it has stereo out, not stereo in, like the Behr. So essentially, all these stereo plugins with a single input are useless when using two amps to create stereo effects. Not an opinion, but an observation; the first box in my chain is a ABY splitter. Seems logical to me, maybe I've missed something. So I have to purchase each effect twice, except the Behr.

    I got one and it's interesting but you need a 500 milliamp power supply with reverse polarity which doesn't come supplied.
    Now that's a real pain in the butt, yet more money to outlay before it will work🥴

    • @MarkRigler
      @MarkRigler 6 місяців тому +2

      Are you sure about reverse polarity PSU? Mines normal and 700 mA

    • @PedalExperiments
      @PedalExperiments  6 місяців тому +3

      These aren't reverse polarity. It uses a standard, centre negative, DC input and can run on 9v - 12v.
      But yeah, it does need quite a lot of current, which can be a pain for some people.
