Steve from Sounds Heavenly goes behind the scenes of B&O's design with Torsten Valeur of Valeur Designers. Join us to see how iconic B&O products were developed and to view some prototypes that never made it to production! You can find out more about Torsten's work on his website at valeurdesigners.com Every cable you will ever need for your Bang & Olufsen system can be seen on Steve's website here: soundsheavenly.com If these videos have helped you to enjoy your Bang and Olufsen products, please consider buying Steve a coffee at www.buymeacoffee.com/soundsheavenly - many thanks!

I LOVED Serene.. Serenata not so much. I still have a brand new Beosound 2 in a box - a wonderful piece. Remember the remote for the Beovision 1 - a work of art. Actually that whole TV was a work of art.

Great to hear how these items are still remembered and respected so many years later, that is the sign of a good design!

I have a beocom 2 (in gold) in a box. I'd love to use it but I don't have a land line anymore.
Is there truth to the story that the ring tone came from the aluminium case being dropped and that sound being sampled and arranged to sound nice.

@@Alifelessordinary1975 I'm not sure about the ring tone, but that sounds like a cool story!

Wonderful! My favorite part was the story behind the Beolab 11 [10:03]

  • @freerkderuiter8822

That was most interesting. I always wondered why the Beolab 17 didn't have the aluminium speaker cover perforated like you get on a Beolab 12. I'd guess the acoustic performance is better with the solution they chose in the end.

very interesting, thanks! Too bad the world of smartphones never went closer to BO's design vision: robust, tactile and ergonomic button placement, easy to grab. so much better than current iphone/android which almost seem anti-ergonomic and designed to break. It's a tragedy :(

Glad you enjoyed it! Yes, interesting to think what could have happened if B&O stayed with mobile phone design…
