Every single school should do this. I truly feel telling someone something as easy as "thank you" is as infectious as a yawn or someone laughing.

This would be an amazing way to reach out to those students who are struggling on an emotional level. It could maybe even prevent a tragedy from happening.
Give them an emotional outlet of sorts. This is a beautiful way to recognize how some students may also impact the lives of their teachers who work so hard to raise them into upstanding citizens

I agree, but it needs to be sincere....not a form of "paperwork"

The body language of the child in the colorful hoodie says so much💔. These words were something their soul needed to hear. I hope they carry these words in their heart forever. I'm so happy for these kids and teachers!

This was so heartwarming. These students will never forget this and neither will the teachers. I had a rough childhood and I will never forget when I was 10 and my teacher approached me to ask me how my home life was. It was completely unexpected. I'm 29 now and will never forget. ❤

This truly shows how much such a simple gesture can make someone smile and cry tears of happiness. Not all kids hear kind word so this is truly sweet. I'm gonna do this with my kids for sure!

I feel like it's the 1st time some of these kids have heard that which is heartwarming and sad

This brought tears to my eyes. I have tried to be kind to most of my teachers who were even slightly attempting to do their job well. I wish teachers wrote such letters more often.

As a teacher, I love writing notes to my kids but with the current generation of students, they don't always appreciate kind gestures so it makes it hard for teachers to try. It's like taking to a wall at times but we really try.

@@Princessbyatch88 You're right, most kids don't appreciate kind gestures at that age but you never know when you might get the right kid at the right time... sometimes all a person in crisis needs is a hug or a reminder that they're not alone so I implore you to keep doing kind gestures for your students. I always felt left behind by my teachers and peers because I noticed teachers leaned more towards the social and outgoing students and I was very shy and afraid of failure because I had a very rough home life filled with verbal abuse. So I always felt sad seeing the teachers and students laugh while I sat alone in the back. I always wished the teacher would come talk to me but they never did unless I spoke to them first.

@@Princessbyatch88 And I won't even lie, I did have a teacher who was like that but it was different because it was a special needs class and there was only like 10 of us at most. I also feel like classrooms can have way too much students for one teacher to truly support each one of them. Once I was in a class with like 33 students and that's those moments when I TRULY felt left behind and alone and I stopped going to class completely. That's when they switched me to the special needs class due to my issues.

Sometimes we in education feel forced to put so much of our energy into dealing with behavior problems that we forget to appreciate those kids who make it all worth it. We would all be happier if we take the time to focus on those kids that give us a boost in the heart.

Sweet! This reminds of my school in the 1980's!Teachers would send notes to students congratulating them on achievements like plays, music, sports etc. I still have mine.

This was so lovely. The way that they reacted shows we don't say it enough. When I was at school I really felt it wouldn't make a difference if i wasn't there having a teacher do this would've made such an impact!

We loved Mrs. Earl when my son was in the school. During parent/teacher conferences she always made me feel like my son had a chance of making it through, she always saw him for who he was, not just a grading scale. Thank you Mrs. Earl for who you are!

Trust me they will never forget this. I'm 29 years old and I still never forget one of my freshman year teachers. I was going through a very difficult time in my personal life. other teachers treated me like a lost cause and a troubled child. He treated me with love, compassion, understanding, and patience. She always made sure I had a safe space. He is the reason I didn't drop out of school.

This is such a great idea. But I can only imagine how sad the students that didn't get a letter might feel. I have a sister that works as a student advisor, and for a lot of her students she's the only person in their lives that encourages them to believe in themselves and makes them feel like they are worth something special. She's basically that parent figure that as a child you want to make proud. She tells me how she tries to make sure that ALL her students know she's there for them and they can count on her. They should have planned on a day where the teacher could express her gratitude to ALL her students. So the teacher writes a letter to each one of her students in class. You just never know which kid could really use that kind of gratitude and encouragement.

SERIOUSLY, TEACHERS NEED TO GET PAID WHAT THEY ARE WORTH!!! AT LEAST 80K A YEAR OR MORE. BUT ONLY THE ONES THAT HAVE A GIFT AND LOVE OF TEACHING BECAUSE THERE ARE LAZY TEACHERS THAT SIT BEHIND THEIR DESKS ALL DAY AND HAVE THE STUDENTS READ THEIR TEXTBOOKS WITHOUT ANY GUIDANCE. TEACHERS SAVE LIVES. TEACHERS INSPIRE THE NEXT GENERATION! THEY ARE SOMETIMES ALL A CHILD HAS DUE TO TOXIC PARENTS. THEIR SALARY NEEDS TO CHANGE!! STUDENTS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO RATE THEIR TEACHERS ALSO. THAT WAY THE ADMINISTRATION CAN KNOW WHAT TEACHERS ARE DOING THEIR JOB.
