Did you get good results with that seed brand, I’m thinking of giving them a shot now. The fireball seeds I see on their site are coated, have you ever used that brand and coated?
@@CRV1958 the jury is still out on the fireball I had so much fungus this year. I’m not sure if it’s because I planted in the spring or because of the seed . this fall I’m planting it again on the front lawn for wintergreen up and I’ll have to see if I have the same issues next summer. I don’t think my seed from Twin City was coated.
It seemed better than most , I think the fireball rye is a problem with fungus. The prosperity was overall good this year. My lawn was green all year in the summer ! In the backyard Im going with fescue to see the difference.. Thanks for posting !
Thank you very much for getting back to me. Fungus is another issue I get from time to time, maybe this seed is not too resistant. I’ll think further on this before planting them. Thanks again.
@@TheLawnMechanic It was a blend. Some Kentucky blue and mainly a variety of rye. Just saw a few blades after 12 days on a test sample I have inside. My project is on my video tab.
I had a delay on my project, and soaked the seeds for 13 days. KBG seed, am worried about seed rot, so I had the seed in the bucket not submerged with water but did 12 hours on and 12 hours off. Anybody soak for this long before?
I soaked for 24 hours then rinsed it off and just kept in an empty bucket with a wet towel wrapped around the bag. Worked great!
Works good when kept damp !

That rye grass was ready after 8 hours?
@@followgeo it was about a week from what i recall.
Hello, How does the prosperity blue grass held up in the heat? Does it go dormant when temp hit above 90F for multiple weeks ?

What was the temp while you were doing this? I soaked seeds for 7 days in late April 🇨🇦 and 4 more days in soil, still no grass blades
Soil temp was 55-60 outside temp was around 60 to 65 . What seed did you use. Rye takes only a few days. Bluegrass can take up to a few weeks.

@davidjdove maybe better ground contact and peat over it may help?
@@TheLawnMechanic Appreciated
Looks like he’s peeing in the bucket 😂
Good idea for clicks but dont do it please it wont help 😂
Its pure hose water
“Don’t get all critical with all this”
Why are we measuring 12 once’s?
Pour that sh it in the bucket!
Lol good point !!
Great video 😉
Right, looks like he's weighing some weed😂
Don’t dump old water in grass. It’s toxic. May kill your lawn. Also, change out water every 12 hours

Did the seed have roots. Most important part is did you change the water out frequently
Also, I don’t think 13 days is way too long.
No roots on the seed and I was changing the water out at least once per day. And update, I do have germination, it's 70% KBG and 30% Rye.
