- This flaxseed bread (linseed bread) is dense, soft, and moist.
It’s free of any grains. In fact, the only ingredient in this flaxseed bread is ground flaxseeds (linseed). So, it’s a great low-carb, keto and gluten-free alternative to your regular bread.
You can serve this bread as is, but it also makes for a fabulous toast.
Ingredients:
2.5 cups golden flaxseed
1 cup warm or hot water
1 Tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
oven temperature 220 degrees, I used lower temperature because my oven it very hot!😉

Thank you so much for the recipe. Finally a Keto no eggs, easy to prepare, with ingredients we have . I have been looking for a bread like this for a long time .Thank you again for sharing I am going to try to add some seeds to the it. I love a crunchy bread 😄
I am very glad you liked it! 🥰
Hi, after so many other attempts on making flaxseed bread. Your receipe is the only one that made the best tasting bread. The texture was very good also. I added 3 tablespoons of honey to the warm water, just to make it a bit sweet. Thank you 😊
I am so glad you liked it! I always do the recipe many times to be sure it is OK. 😊
By far the best seed bread recipe' thax a million for sharing ❤
Thank you 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
This bread is really good. I added cinnamon and honey to my hot water. It’s delicious. You must grind the flaxseed really well.
Thank you, I will try with cinnamon and honey 😊
Hello, thanks for sharing. You need to put the loaf in à hotter oven in order to make it rise 😉. I would suggest 220°celsius
Thanks for the tip! My oven is very hot so I usually use lower temperatures. I will add your tip in the description. 🙂
Looks great
Thank you 😊
Thank you for the recipe
GREAT 👍🏻
THANK YOU 💞
I will bake this for my mother
she has diabetes
and needs an alternative
to normal bread 🤔
for the flavour
I will add 1/2 cup of grounded walnuts
plus Chia-Seeds to absorb
the additional 1 cup of water 😋
Fibers are high with regard to the glycemic index is high, though.
Thank you. This turned out great. 😊
Second try at it and ground the flax finer which helped it to actually look the same as yours. However i would suggest a bit of flavoring to be put in as a bit of flavor other than flax is helpful.
Yes, with spices it will be tastier. Which spices did you try?
I am subscribing !😊
Thank you 😀
I gotta try
Let me know 😉
Se ve muy bueno.
Muchas gracias
I followed the recipe exactly and the bread looked great, but when I cut into it it was still damp and very squidgy. Quite slimey! Any tips please?
Hi, try to cook it for longer at a lower temperature and let me know 👍😉
Interested in how this turned out.
Hi! Made it but it didn’t turn out at all. Used brown flaxseed maybe that’s why? Followed it point by point. Will try again and see what happens
It's fine with brown flaxseeds, just grind then until they become a flour. Let me know if it gets better 😉
Looks delish! Thank you 😋
Hope you enjoy it 🥰
Hi, does this recepie work o ly with golden flaxseeds? or I can use the brown kind?
Thanks
You can use any kind of flaxseeds. Remember to make a flour of them
👋🌺
2.5 cup m kitny gram flex seeds hty
😃🍞🤤
Hi, couple questions? You said 220 degrees but i see you are in UK? you really did 220 celsius? Can you please provide unit of measure there?
Also, i want to try the lower temp but for a longer time like you suggest, but i can't afford to mess up a bunch of batches. Can you please make a cooking temp + number of minutes recommendation for the lower temp, higher time?
And sorry, actually one more quick question:
2.5C of flaxseed... Is that 2.5C AFTER ground? Or pour out 2.5C whole seeds, then grind, then whatever that comes to you just put in? Bc i swear in the video: i see you measure about 2 cups ground into ur bowl only.
Thank you! It looks so good & i can't wait!!! Yummy!
😋🤤😊
did u try it?
Celsius 😊
@@heartilyvegan such a polite reply.
Hi, it's 2.5 cups of grounded flwseeds. And regarding the lower temperature I haven't tried yet. It depends on your oven. But lower temperature will probably not give you the crunchy crust on top.
is the oven temperature in Celsius or Farenheit?
Celsius 😊
Though healthy & looks great, the issue with flaxseed bread is that it doesn't taste great, mouthfeel not pleasant, looks cooked & crispy on the outside but retains an unpleasant 'wetness' on the inside, even when fully baked & cooled down.
That's true, for this reason a strongly suggest to add spices to make the flavour more pleasant for the people who can't bear the taste of the omega 3
@@heartilyvegan ...but it ain't about "the taste of omega 3".
I've been whole-plant-based for about 20 years (well before plant-based became a hype on social media). Flaxseeds happen to be my chosen main source of plant-based omega-3, since 20 years... As well as the whole & milled seeds, which I very regularly use for baking (in combination with other wholesome gluten-free ingredients), I also regularly consume cold-pressed omega-3 flaxseed oil too.
So, it ain't about the omega-3 taste at all. It's simply that flaxseed on it's own ain't as great for baking bread (*on it's own*), as it's hyped up to be. It retains an unpleasant, slightly 'slimy wetness' inside the loaf-style bread even when it is fully baked & crispy externally...no attempts at adding spices/flavors can solve that issue, if flaxseeds used (*on it's own*) for baking loaf-syle 🍞 bread.
I'm going to try doing it with cold water instead of hot water
Try it and let me know. I use hot water because it helps in forming an omogeneous dough.
What does it taste like??
It tastes a bit of flax seeds and has a nutty background taste. I usually toast it and spread peanut butter on top or some vegan cheese and cherry tomato with vinegar glaze. It is very versatile and almost carb free!
Looks great. Does it make a dense bread?
Hi Melissa, yes it is dense and you can easily slice it. If you ry the recipe, let me know 😉
Thanks. I Hope to make it over the holidays
Please feel free to share any feedback if you have. Merry Christmas
Can you omit the baking soda?
If you omit it you will not have the little holes inside.
2.5 cups of golden flaxseed is around how many grams ?
I have never weighted them. I will redo the recipe for my family and next time I will weight it and let you know 😘
Hi, 1 cup is 90 gr. 😊
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Thank you ❤
Looks gas!
😊
This was the worst bread ever. Sticky, undone, and did not rise in the least. I will be looking elsewhere. Sorry.
Hi, I am sorry it wasn't good. I did it a few times before it was perfect. Did you ground the flax seed meal until it has a flour consistency?
