    It looks great. I have one problem with it, and it's the same reason I don't buy the AI extensions. I'm not going to be bled dry by subscriptions...that's the Adobe hallmark. Luminar should take a lesson from Pixelmator/Photomator and go flat fee. I LOVE their products, but when I buy something, I pay once.
    Your comments and advice though...are priceless. Any chance you'll take a whirl at working with 360 pano's?

    • @DigitalPhotoMentor
      @DigitalPhotoMentor  3 місяці тому +1

      Thanks for your comment. The issue with paying once and never again is how does the software company hire developers and pay them to do stuff if everyone owns it and no more money is coming in? You end up with a dead product. As for 360, not likely. I've never done one and don't have the gear to do it.

      Re:360 OK...I understand completely.
      As for "no more money coming in", I could list an absolute slew of products that are still one-off buys. Some of them are very inexpensive, like Procreate. Some are not, like Topaz. I do understand business realities, having run one when much younger. I think a fair amount of users have had it with the rental model, and are simply refusing to buy. I really like the products Luminar offers, more than many of the other apps I own. Truth be told, I own ONE paid subscription app, and that's my VPN (Proton). I only pay for that because I've seen how poorly the free apps perform.
      Either way, I enjoy your videos very much and learn from every one I watch.

    Thanks for this video. I’ve played around with the beta for a while. I shoot and edit just for pleasure and do almost all of my editing on my iPad Pro. For now I don’t think the Luminar app for iPad feels good enough to replace my favourite iPad apps (Lightroom, Photomator, Snapseed, Picsart etc). But I guess they will add more features soon.

    • @DigitalPhotoMentor
      @DigitalPhotoMentor  3 місяці тому +2

      You can get snapseed for iPad now? Used to be it was just for phones? I haven't tried Photomator. Which of those is your favorite and why? Thanks for the comment.

    • @ubbyliv

      @@DigitalPhotoMentorI’ve used Snapseed on my iPads for years. It’s my first go-to-app when I want to make some quick adjustments. And there are some more advanced tools than what you first think. Photomator is more advanced with adjustment layers and such things and great tools for Denoising and Debanding. Right now my fav is Lightroom - the last year Adobe have added more and more to it. I have access to more things as I subscribe to one of Adobe’s plans. Masking tools have improved. Presets you use on your desktop app get synced into the iPad app. And the new tool for lens blur works well according to me. But real pros might disagree 😊

    Thanks for the first look at Luminar for iPad. I’ve actually already played with the free demo version, and found the design quite interesting. But I’m not really looking for a stand alone iPad photo editing app. I much prefer the way Lightroom inter-grates between your phone, tablet and computer. Great video, and thanks for sharing.

    Thanks for the video. I do like the layout of the app. I do so little editing on my iPad and having LR all ready I can't justify paying for another app at this time. My iPad is also older and doesn't meet the requirements for it.

    How well does it edit portraits. ? Facial tones , eye and smile corrections , as my free SNAPSEED has portrait and facial corrections. All demo videos I’ve seen use landscape pics. How does it work on portraits

    Your videos are Sooo informative Darlene! I bought the Luminar for iPad early and gave it a 'ok' rating but realize its a newly developed app. I think they messed with the share and made one of those options save the file in 'small' reducing the size of it. I hope they change that back. Those of us that do edit on the iPad always want the largest files saved and we can cut them down later. Thanks for your hard work. I look forward to every video and email!!!

    any idea how to copy the edit done on 1 image and sync to other images on ipad. it is very difficult to edit every image separately where as we can just copy and paste the edits to other images when needed. this is a basic feature
