Hey sir, how much to have you look at my car . Im stationed at fort campbell and have honda engine knock, 3 cylinder misfires, and error p0369 since changing the oil, power steering, coolant and transmission oil myself 34 days ago. So many issues within one week
We got one. It’s honestly such a bargain so far Picked it specifically because it’s one of the few dual clutch, gear box, hybrids out there. Slightly more expensive than a Corolla but miles better space, look, dual climate, heated seats, faster, real alloy wheels. Was a no brainer
@@billbigshlong382Agree! I owned a newer Sonata. Worked well until 100k, then came all kinds of issues. My friend's Sonata had a seized engine. So its a much wider issue than people think. Hyundais are crap.
@@SaritaAdhikari-kd4inIt could be that the owners are trash. I’ve seen as many Hyundais up to 200k as I have seen blow a motor at 15k. Many owners that buy cheap cars, tend to not be very good owners.
I bought a 2023 Elantra SEL with the convenience package in September of 2022, driven over 20k miles and I love it. Drives very smooth, i dont even feel it shift. I got the SEL so not hybrid but i get 46 mpg at 75 mph, 52 mpg at 60 mph and 38-40 mpg in the city. The driver assist features are great, i basically dont have to do anything when i get on the highway until i leave the highway or if the lines break. It's the best handling car I've driven by far, I've driven a couple of bmws and Mercedes. I also have a 100k mile warranty on everything and a lifetime powertrain warranty which was the biggest selling point tbh
I hated Hyundai like 5 years ago, made fun of friends that own them and last year I bought a 23 Elantra SEL with the convenience package and I frickin love it lol
I love my 2024 Kona N-line, and I'm thinking of seeing if my wife wants that car so I can take her 2018 tucson, and go get an 2023 elantra N in a manual 😂😂
I have a 2021 Elantra that is not a hybrid but still averages 46 miles to the gallon. So far its been a really great vehicle but I havent owned it for about 8 months.
@@kuyre2239Dude.. you're smoking something and i want it >> from motor trend >> The U.S. launch of the Civic Hybrid is still months away, so there are as yet no EPA fuel consumption numbers available. But on Europe's WLTP combined test cycle, the Civic e:HEV hatch is rated at 50 mpg, and road testers running long term cars in the UK have reported between 38 mpg and 48 mpg in real world running conditions. For context, the CR-V Hybrid's official EPA city/highway/combined fuel economy numbers are 40/34/38 mpg.
Scotty is correct in the fact that the Honda Hybrids DO NOT have a spare tire, the Toyota's do though. The eCVT's in the Hybrids though are NOT like the conventional CVT's with "bands" totally different transmissions. So keep that in mind as well.
I'm a Honda guy but I really like the looks of the Tucson Limited(a small SUV) and bought one over the CRV back in 2017 .. It has the dual clutch system and yes its jerky but fun to drive - good torque . I have 130,000 miles and never had any kind of problems with the SUV.. 1.6 Turbo.
Hey Scotty I just became a huge fan. I’m a young and almost 18 year old. I want to learn more and more about cars I’m basically a beginner . I don’t know really where to start and it’s kinda overwhelming but I’m slowly learning from your videos thank you Scotty!!!!!! You’re the man
The uncle a young chap deserves, in the day, there was a father / uncle / grandfather/ neighbour or some other guy that you would potter about a garage or yard with, learn to be a guy and learn how to do stuff,
5:58 been driving my 2022 Elantra hybrid for two years now. It is a great ride, averages 53 MPG and the base model came with bun warmers, lane assist, AC, etc. I downsized from a Minivan and thought I would miss it, but every time I stop and fill up the Elantra and it says "547 miles range " for 12 gallons of gas. Yes, thanks. No fires here.
This actually makes me think about getting a hybrid. I usually don't even consider them because of the cvt. Had a couple nissans, not hybrid, with cvt and they both were nothing but trouble.
Phaseskate. I doubt you have really Hyundai car or you justt trying to say bad thing without proof. Hynudai has 10 yrs of power train warranty which means engine and transmission is free because of under warranty.
I bought the toyota yaris cross hev S and let me tell you that the features of the car is packing. With it switching from ev and gas is great aside from lower power than the other variants, the gas it saves is so good. My parents can use the car with ease since it moves smoothly and 360 camera for parking which is nice.
That was the big problem with the sonata hybrid at work when they first came out ... the car would literally buck trying to hunt for a gear, the transmission didn't last long. At the time they also had issues with the power relays for the HV battery pack overheating. I actually prefer CVT for hybrid, it matches the power curve better.
Have a Kia Forte with the 2.0 engine and CVT. The transmission scoots from a stoplight pretty well. No more noise than my old six speed auto. I regularly get around 43 mpg on the higway with the CVT. Scotty, drive one and see if it changes your mind.
Scotty. I work at a dealer where we service Kia. I’ve seen 2023 Kia’s with a crack in every cylinder. And they’re still making the tech do fuel tests. They’re also stingy to fix their own issues. Side trim coming apart after 1k miles. Save your money!!
One of my sons has a 2017 Forte 2.0 that had 3400. worth of engine work at 70K. he was the second owner, so no warranty. Another son has a 2017 Santa Fe 2.4 that blew the engine at 80K. It was purchased as a certified used car, and luckily he had an extended warranty to cover it. The son with the Forte asked why his was using oil; I told him to get rid of it before it completely blows up as well.
Must be luck of the draw I had a 2015 optima hybrid traded with 158,000 miles Never In the shop for anything. Traded for a 2023 Elantra hybrid limited and so far we're good on this one.
You can tell Scotty hasn't driven that generation Elantra with a CVT. My wife has a 2022 one (and I hate CVTs too). But that CVT is awesome. They call theirs IVTs. But when you are a little aggressive with the throttle, it changes the transmission to preset shift points and it feels identical to a standard geared transmission. And it's QUICK. And it's a non-turbo.
i have 2016 crv with cvt and i barely notice it ..yes its not a shifting jerk but the v tec can create a kick if need be.. its peppy and the sport mode loosens it up bigley...hopefully no issues ..85000 so far..
I have a Hyundai Elantra 2019 I bought new. Only 17k miles on it 5 years later (yes i know i dont drive much haha) It's in perfect condition and a higher end model in the line. A dealer yesterday offered me $14,500 for it.
I know you aren't a fan of Hyundai (full disclosure, we have owned 3 Hyundai's since 2001) but, I saw a recent JD Powers owner satisfaction poll that had Genesis AND Hyundai both in the top 10! I'm retired so I don't drive that much (gas mileage isn't a priority) but, otherwise I'd be interested in one of Hyundai's Hybrids! Thanks for another great review!
I keep seeing people, mostly from the US, that can't stand Hyundai. From reliability to the kia boys to horrible dealers. But tbh I always thought that it's the us made ones that have the most issues. Never really see people from the EU for example having issues like these. My hyundai is made in the Czech Republic and it's solid. And I heard the korean made ones are also pretty good. Anyone knows if this is more of a problem on the US models?
Im Australian, and I feel the same way. All the criticisms Hyundai have are mostly from Americans, although tbh they are quite valid about the ones in the US,not so much to rest of the world.
Also Scotty, all Hyundais come with a 5 year 60,000 mile warranty bumper to bumper. which is better then most manufactures right now. And the even bigger cherry on top is the ten year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty they have for the first owner of the car, and for hybrids the hybrid system has the ten year 100,000 mile warranty. They seem to really be trusting the quality of their cars, Even the Elantra N has the warranty.
Actually the 100k warranty is continued on certified preowned hyundai / kias. I am on my third hyundai / kia my sister is on her second. we've done alright. I went from a 2017 sould to a 2021 tucson to a 2023 Santa fe hybrid. I turn them in quick but they never gave me a problem. my sister just traded in her rondo with 64000 miles for a 2023 kia soul. Honda / toyotas have their problems too.
Remember the original Kia rio? The dealer had your car more than you did. I think they have gotten better now. I bought 4 Accents last year, 3 for family and one for myself all 1.6L turbodoesel 200 wheel horsepower and 6 sp automatics. 60+mpg
I looked at one in red but it didn’t have wireless CarPlay and had sunroof, I’m fat and tall so I didn’t my head anywhere near the roof the basic in that is actually kinda semi loaded
It's good to see another auto manufacturer making a sedan. Considering the inflation of the car market and obsession with large SUV's, an affordable sedan with boatloads of room that's good on fuel is something Hyundai should be praised for. From a Toyota fanboy - go Hyundai.....
hyundai DCT got class action law suite. 😂 Lawsuit Investigation: Hyundai, Kia Dual-Clutch Transmission Problems Last Updated on September 5, 2023 This Alert Affects: Anyone in California, New York or Illinois who bought or leased certain Hyundai or Kia vehicles with a dual-clutch transmission and experienced shifting problems or loss of power.
I looked at EVs and hybrids a few years ago and found out Hyundai and Kai have been redoing their drivetrains at least three major revisions over the last 10 years, this makes 4. Went with a Toyota PHEV. It's not cheap if it's broken.
Scotty my 2024 Kia Soul CVT tranny doesn't seem to have any hesitation TBH about it. However I'm an 81yo rather conservative driver that strays basically no more than 10% over the limit. Its very smooth in fact. Longevity? Of course I have no clue but I needed that big warranty in case something serious goes amiss. Like it or not CVT is here to stay and in fact within 5 years you're gonna be hard pressed to find a geared auto tranny. Yep the writing is on the wall. My suggestion regarding these things is to keep the lead atta your foot! My brother recently rode with me and he could not believe the easy egress for such a physically small exterior. He was impressed with how quiet it was as well for such a "cheap" (if you can call ANY new vehicle cheap) vehicle.
I got a similar set-up, (I believe), with a 2017 Kia Niro PHEV with the dual-clutch and 1.6 liter engine. Been changing fluids regularly and so far nothing amiss. Transmission fluid was quite easy to change because if you overfill it will drip out, so you know when you are done. I think best to be wary of the dual clutch "actuator" fluid which seems to get dirty quite fast. But also very easy to check, drain and refill. Oh, and phenomenal fuel efficiency. I get about 67 mpg mixed driving, 50 mpg highway (hybrid mode).
I got a 2010 Kia soul made in Korea used with 160,000 miles on it when I got it it now has 240,000 and the only thing I have needed to replace is the battery and hvac compressor and tires besides oil changes it has the thickest windshield I have ever seen a rock was lodged into it years ago and it never spread
My only experience with a CVT really is on my new-ish Civic, and after getting used to it, I honestly like it better than every other automatic transmission I've used. Now when I drive cars with automatic transmissions, it bugs me how the torque drops off momentarily while it shifts gears, to the point where I'd rather have the "lag" (albeit minimal) with more constant torque of the CVT. Am I crazy?
I'm OK how it drive but not how to maintain it. 30k miles are 1/2 of automatic mileage change fluid and filter. Older Honda don't need to clean fluid pan.
Honda's CVT uses a real Clutch so it's like it has a first gear, then it's variable. It responds better from the start and then it gets "comfy" for fuel economy.
This is the same drivetrain as in my 2018 Ioniq Hybrid. It's a very good proven system, never had any issues after 50000 km. Still smooth as silk. While not super quick off the line there is plenty of passing power, which is the critical measurement in the real world.
Ideally, I wouldn't get either a CVT or a DCT in my car, but if I have to choose, I'd much sooner pick the former. Both have their drivability issues, but CVTs are far more reliable, especially the eCVT used in Toyota hybrids (which is a different design than regular CVTs). Hyundai has had a lot of issues with the DCTs used in their gasoline vehicles (I think there's even a class action suit) and there's no reason to think that the DCT on this hybrid would fare any better. And this is not a Hyundai-specific problem either since there's no car brand that I can think of that hasn't had issues with their DCTs! So, I'm surprised by Scotty's positive review to say the least, especially since he always trashes Hyundai's! Maybe the 'big' owner standing by was a factor, lol.
I just checked and Hyundai does have a recall on the dual clutch transmission. So I am just here to verify your comment. Sometimes information on UA-cam is not complete or factual. People need to do their own research. Thank you for the information. ✌️👍
I love my 2013 Elantra! After 188k the timing chain has jumped. Getting it fixed now, timing chain job is out of depth range for me. Lots to screw up 😂 This new Elantra is freaking sweet!
I see these all the time being a tech at a Hyundai. And yes he is absolutely right, the newer 23/24 model Genesis GV80’s and 70’s @ $90k plus don’t come with a spare tire, they come with a tire inflater but this one at @ $25k does lol. Always inflate your spare tire to 60 psi!!
I have a 2017 Elantra non-hybrid (don't really know if they made a hybrid then). I have 117,000. Coil pack issues around 52,000 miles...i was told the 2018 had a recall but not the 2017...coil packs were replaced under warranty though. Last winter, around 105,000 miles, it started having cold start issues. Thing sounds like it wants to die until it's warmed up. Someone recommended i try keeping it in my garage to see if that helps, but I don't think that person recognizes their privilege because my house doesn't have a garage 😅 outside of these issues, it hasn't been a bad vehicle. My biggest complaint is the lack of power. Trying to merge to the interstate is a dangerous game in an Elantra 😅😅 will probably be my one and only Hyundai.
have you driven the competition. The Corolla drives like crap, the Civic is nice drive but I wrote of Civic when I owned one and it was plain terrible. Mazda 3 is nice but owned one and just never warmed up to it. Every car is going to have something that breaks somewhere along the line. I suggest you drive the competition, and you might change your opinion. Unless you buy German, it is about as nice as you can get and if you buy German, you will realize what problems are on a car, they are constant issues but great cars to drive. A Jetta drives like a dream compared to a Corolla but it will be nothing but a headache.
Yeah but The Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid starts at $24,145 for the LE base-level trim with destination fee and popular options.
Problem with hybrids and electric vehicles is the ASStronomical costs of replacing the batteries. Until they drop those prices it doesn’t make sense to me to buy them
replacing a battery costs less than 3k. at least at my dealer for my 2022 Elantra Hybrid. I did ask when I was buying the car of an estimate of the costs after warranty expires. because after probably 200k you would want a new battery. Well at least how I drive, thats like 4-5 years of driving so not too bad.
I just nabbed a '22 with the Limited trim and videos like this make me more and more confident that it was the right choice. The car feels great, looks great, and the limited trim has so many nice additions (Bose speakers, heated/ventilated seats, a wireless fast charger in the center console, as well as a gorgeous display). Upgrading from a 2012 Traverse with 110k miles on it makes it feel like a goddamn space ship
I had a hyundai ionic with a duel clutch and it held up great... 60+ miles per gallon when I traded it for a new maverick hybrid. I had no issues with this vehicle. I just wanted a slightly larger vehicle....Hyundai hybrids are good buys...mine always had a greater range than the prious.
Hyundai Class Action Says DCT Transmissions Are Defective Since at least 2015, through consumer complaints and dealership repair orders, among other internal sources, Hyundai reportedly knew or should have known that the 7-speed DCT in these vehicles contains a design defect that impairs drivability and causes safety hazards, in part because the same concerns were expressed regarding the 2016-2017 Hyundai Tucson that is equipped with the same 7-speed DCT and TCM.
In 2018 a lady w/ her Hyundai Elantra put a million miles on her car. My 2010 Hyundai Elantra has 165,700 miles and still going strong!! Hyundai's are just reliable as Toyota and Honda.
Honda did dual clutch with the Hybrid Vezel (HR-V) and the Fit Hybrid (2014 - 2019). They had various issues with some of them hence why they went back to CVT for the new hybrids. Most Hyundai's here in JA with the dual clutch has had MASSIVE issues in cars under 2 years old so I'd rethink what your saying Scotty.
i got the regular version without the hybrid. i’m pretty happy with it. it’s not fancy or luxury, it’s cheap and takes me from point a to b with zero issues. i wish they made the face little longer.
was about to buy a hyundai car but some elantra broke down infront of me so i settled with the hybrid Toyota Yaris Cross HEV S which is a nice car that even my parents loved it. Very responsive and techy car. I have a 2014 kia Sorento Lx Crdi (90k odo), it didnt have major problems other than worn out coil/shocks from bad roads(gotta love that diesel power moving stuff and long trip).
$25,000 Hyundai Hybrid. Scotty, you seem convinced. Go ahead and buy one and let us know how it looks after 50k miles. If it still checks out, I might consider one. :) Making that $25k decision today, I'd buy a Subaru Impreza, Mazda3 or Corolla Liftback SE instead. Thanks Scotty. PS: I think Hyundai/KIA have done a great job improving the look/aesthetics of their entire model line up. All that is missing is durability/reliability - so it seems just a matter of time before they put it all together.
I have a 2021 one in the same color and I’m at 36K miles. No problems and really good on gas. Gets lots of compliments too even though I got used to how it looks
I had a 2007 Elantra Limited with Manual Transmission and now have a 2017 Elantra Limited with a regular automatic. Neither vehicle gave me ANY problems whatsoever. I'll probably get another one in 2027.
I had a 2013 sonata. Sold it after it passed 100k miles... it is still working good and reliable. Has 140k ... no issues at all. 2013 was one of the worst years for those cars per cpnsumer reports...
I avoid CVT not how it drives, but how to maintain it. Honda have 2 filter and need to replace every fluid change (30k miles). Automatic need 1 filter and fluid change at 60k miles double the mileage. No need to clean the fluid pan all these sludge of metal.
I sell Toyotas and I can wholeheartedly tell you that I couldnt be more unbothered by Hyundai. The engine fire recalls should tell you all you need to know. I love the look on people's faces when they realize the market on a 10 year old Rav4 is higher than on their 3 year old Tucson.
I've had 2 Toyota vehicles: 2008 & 2013 Yaris. Both had bad alternators and break issues galore. The 2013 blew a head gasket at 70k. Radiator scrapped out at 50k. Bought an accent because my wife's has 100k miles on it and we've only had to replace struts. I have a 2021, when they stopped using GDI and went back to intake injectors.
I have a 2014 Honda civic. Never replaced struts. Never replaced alternator. 125k miles and counting. Only things replaced are brakes serpentine belt tires battery oil changed air filters honestly nothing else that I can think of. I bought it when it a Had 36k miles on it.
I live 9 months of the year in the Philippines and my wife had a couple siblings that needed cars. I bought them (3 total) Hyundai Accent 1.6L turbo Diesels. The get about 60mpg and have that same 6 speed automatic transmission because that 1.6L turbo diesel is the hottest thing there is without paying double the price in Luxury tax. It accelerates like a Mustang, you can feel the G force even when the car has 4 passengers. I like it so much I bought one for myself for $9k with 20k miles on it. I would buy another one in the US in a heartbeat but they will never be sold there.
No Scotty let me give you an advice!! My 2021 Elantra has a mileage of 262,000 kilometres and it runs perfectly fine! Although there is grease in all of the parts of my Elantra!! So this is a little advice Scotty that Hyundai’s are not bad❤❤❤!!!
Gotta tell you, have a 2015 Hyundai Accent. Love it. Easy to work on. Not to much gone wrong. Has a real transmission. Change oil every 3000 not 5000. Use Lucas upper cylinder cleaner every few tanks to combat the GDI common clog up issues Scotty reportes on in prior video. No hesitation drives great at 130000 miles. Take care of it, easy while braking and bumps. It will take care of you at 40 plus miles to gallon. I usually get 300000 or more on my vehicles. My 96 Ranger has 350000 miles on it and still going.
I think "yundai" continues to be coming along. They have made mistakes but some vehicles they are doing well. I liked my 6 speed auto in my 2013 Sonata. That gearbox shifted perfectly and predictably. You drove my Genesis G80 and that 8 speed is very good but the Sonata was a little better
I have a Hyundai ionic blue that is a non plugin it gets 58 to 61 mpg it’s a 2019 and it also has a lifetime warranty on the hole hybrid system including the battery.
If Hyundai/Kia would pull their heads out of their full point of contact and fix the engine issues they have had now for several years now, they would be solid cars. Have a 2018 Sorento and other than the oil burn issue, it's been a good vehicle. Son has a 2018 Forte (Elantra sister) and it's been ok as well and it has a regular 6 speed trans. If you don't know what I mean about oil burn issue, look it up.
I respect Scotty for giving fair consideration of a hybrid/Hyundai/non-CVT transmission when fair consideration is due. Generally he's very dismissive of anything electric and/or Hyundai.
With all due respect . NO ! Scotty has been praising Hybrid Toyota and Honda vehicles for years . His son has a Hybrid Toyota van he has praised and talked about quite a lot .
Just gonna say, my non-hybrid ICE 2022 Elantra's can get over 50mpg and on one occasion I reached 58mpg. I got the Limited trim so Scotty wouldn't like that apparently, but I really like it. Hyundai nailed with the Elantras :)
I drive a 2023 Elantra n line with a 1.6T to work everyday with no issues and I’ve put on about 20000miles, and it’s unbelievable zippy and fun to drive
@@user-fv2tj8en4g no, then it would be Vietnamese. You got your asian countries mixed up. Korea is the one with the boy bands that look like girls trying to be boys.
@@MJA5 I haven't tried yet on the warranty. After living in Japan for almost 20 years, I've found Korean tech right behind Japanese tech. Sony was the best TV you could buy. now Samsung's TV and phones have equivalent quality for a cheaper price.
@MJA5 owned 3 Hyudais, never had a warranty issue. They even replaced my Sonata engine AFTER 100K miles. It blew around 101k, fully replaced and didn't cost me a penny!
If hyundai would listen to me they would sell a non turbo 2000cc with a clutch 6 speed. A timing chain without high pressure fuel injection. Something durable and simple to repair.
Why? There's a REASON they got rid of that thing. They look at the numbers and probably the AGE of the MALE drivers driving them! These people ain't stupid...
As an a-to-b driver who keeps his cars for 12 years minimum I prefer non-turbos but that's just me and I realize different people have different needs.
@@Jaye-ts3ko that’s the point because I don’t think you understand which ones are easily stolen and which are not 😂 clearly this is a model which isn’t easily stolen because if you look you will see it’s a push to start
Dct transmissions have just as many reliability problems that cvt transmissions do when you don’t maintain them, and as consumer reports found most people are not maintaining their transmissions well
People are so ignorant and still living in the past 🤦🏻♂️…Hyundai and Kia are not what they use to be in the past. They have improved significantly. I have a Kia Forte with DCT and 200k miles. Running smooth, never had problems, no warning lights and going strong. You need to do your maintenance on time and really take care of your cars, if you want them to last.
Hello.. Automatic with double clutch can also be a variant of the horrible POWERSHIFT that Ford started with on the Mondeo mk4 A gearbox with a lot of problems! It's the double clutches in oil that are the big problem here. they are not designed to be easily replaced. 1. Can't pull as heavily loaded behind the car. 2. Have to change the oil relatively often. 3. Problems with oil solonoids, valves. 4. Vibration during acceleration caused by clutch. Avoid cars with powershift. There were more than just fords that used powershift!
What great advice, even if Scotty dislikes certain brands he does recognise the positive aspects. I'm on my second CVT car and I agree I can't stand them, regardless of fuel economy. I sometimes drive my moms V6 Kia van and my friends old Volvo SUV.. Their gas guzzlers but those 6-speeds move!
I looked at this car here in canada $40,000 so I walked away. Thats a lot of gas money and repairs for my car, If this car was $20,000 when I went and looked at it I would have taken it,

10 year warranty. Drivetrain is not really an issue on these cars
I got a 2021 Elantra Hybrid for $21k and get nearly 60 mpg. The standard feature are awesome and just a great car.
All my cars are Hyundais and a Kia and they hold up pretty well. In fact, my 2001 Elantra has 278K miles now and going strong.
Am I crazy?
CVT is fine, its just uninspiring. Its perfectly fine for commutes, not much else.
Drive a Nissan CVT and you will never ever want a CVT again.
@@jamus3457outdated advice. Nissan cvt issues were corrected in 2020
This is the same drivetrain as in my 2018 Ioniq Hybrid.
Yea remember the Fiat 500L came out with DCT and had a lot of problems. The later models were switched to a 6 speed Aisin automatic.

Last winter, around 105,000 miles, it started having cold start issues. Thing sounds like it wants to die until it's warmed up. Someone recommended i try keeping it in my garage to see if that helps, but I don't think that person recognizes their privilege because my house doesn't have a garage 😅 outside of these issues, it hasn't been a bad vehicle. have you driven the competition. The Corolla drives like crap, the Civic is nice drive but I wrote of Civic when I owned one and it was plain terrible. Mazda 3 is nice but owned one and just never warmed up to it. Every car is going to have something that breaks somewhere along the line. Didn't the ford have trouble with their dual clutch trans?
They sure did. Those tranny's were in the Focus, Fiesta, and Eco Sport models. Class action lawsuit was filed against them.
That DCT is well known for overheating in heavy bumper to bumper traffic...
Not the 6 speed dct…
I think "yundai" continues to be coming along. They have made mistakes but some vehicles they are doing well. I liked my 6 speed auto in my 2013 Sonata. That gearbox shifted perfectly and predictably. You drove my Genesis G80 and that 8 speed is very good but the Sonata was a little better
Yes, and the "Yundai" vehicle in this video is a decent "high bread" 😄
I just bought one 2024 Elantra Blue and I love it I get 53-55 miles per gallon avg combine ❤
Hot a full hybrid! Full hybrids don't need gearboxes - fewer moving parts.
Tomorrow Scotty will post another video I was wrong about Hyundai.
I own a 2023 Elantra N with a manual transmission I know it's not a fair comparison to this review but so far, it's a great car.
I was listening to Scotty and I looked at my computer when I heard the power up of the car. I thought Windows was booting up 🤣😂😂
I have the 2023 version and the performance is fantastic!
I have a Hyundai ionic blue that is a non plugin it gets 58 to 61 mpg it’s a 2019 and it also has a lifetime warranty on the hole hybrid system including the battery.
Thank you for the video. Blessings to you.
The 20000 dollar one will be the unicorn that is the hook to draw in. Sorry we don't have any in stock , butwe do have these 39000 dollar models
I respect Scotty for giving fair consideration of a hybrid/Hyundai/non-CVT transmission when fair consideration is due. Generally he's very dismissive of anything electric and/or Hyundai.
Hyundai has earned the skepticism it garners
With all due respect . NO ! Scotty has been praising Hybrid Toyota and Honda vehicles for years . His son has a Hybrid Toyota van he has praised and talked about quite a lot .
Just gonna say, my non-hybrid ICE 2022 Elantra's can get over 50mpg and on one occasion I reached 58mpg. I got the Limited trim so Scotty wouldn't like that apparently, but I really like it.
Hyundai nailed with the Elantras :)
Every time Scotty mentions the CVTs, it hurts, because my car has one 😂
I drive a 2023 Elantra n line with a 1.6T to work everyday with no issues and I’ve put on about 20000miles, and it’s unbelievable zippy and fun to drive
It maybe a horse of a different color, but it's still a Korean horse, 😂 with the best warranty in the industry. It even comes with happy music.
if you can get them to honor their warranty, for which they are famously sketchy
Do it say Me Love You Long Time LoL
If they gave this the Turbo I'd definitely get one
Elantra N Line is only 28k
Do the Elantra N next! I want to hear what you have to say about this car. I'm an owner and I love it!
Can you prevent the car from being stolen?😏
Probably the dumbest question I’ve seen thus far
@@Unpopularopinion1960 You must not be aware of the stolen car problem that Kia and Hyundai have. Get out of ur basement more often.🤓🤡
@@Jaye-ts3ko that’s the point because I don’t think you understand which ones are easily stolen and which are not 😂 clearly this is a model which isn’t easily stolen because if you look you will see it’s a push to start
@@Jaye-ts3ko 😂 lol really thought you was doing something with this comment huh
I’m an Uber driver and own a 23 and it’s been amazing for the first 28k miles
I'm considering getting this car for the very same reason. Good to hear!
I'd be crapping my pants if I could find a $20,000 new car too.
The Toyota Corolla is more than $20,000 as they've raised prices. The lowest would probably be $25,000
I can find one for you, but you'll hate it. 2023/24 Nissan Versa
Dct transmissions have just as many reliability problems that cvt transmissions do when you don’t maintain them, and as consumer reports found most people are not maintaining their transmissions well
If he wants to be a future spokesperson for Hyundai, he’s going to have to learn how to pronounce their name!
He's from the south. What do you expect?
People are so ignorant and still living in the past 🤦🏻♂️…Hyundai and Kia are not what they use to be in the past. They have improved significantly.
I have a Kia Forte with DCT and 200k miles. Running smooth, never had problems, no warning lights and going strong. You need to do your maintenance on time and really take care of your cars, if you want them to last.
After the Ford focus and Volkswagen Beatle dual clutch transmission failing I am very skeptical of Hyundai building one that’s any better 😂
Hello.. Automatic with double clutch can also be a variant of the horrible POWERSHIFT that Ford started with on the Mondeo mk4
A gearbox with a lot of problems!
Is this a parallel universe where Scotty likes a Hyundai?🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
What great advice, even if Scotty dislikes certain brands he does recognise the positive aspects. I'm on my second CVT car and I agree I can't stand them, regardless of fuel economy. I sometimes drive my moms V6 Kia van and my friends old Volvo SUV.. Their gas guzzlers but those 6-speeds move!
I looked at this car here in canada $40,000 so I walked away. Thats a lot of gas money and repairs for my car, If this car was $20,000 when I went and looked at it I would have taken it,
