I swear a huge portion of my childhood was spent trying to figure out how to fabricate crappy go-karts or minibikes out of old small engines unsuccessfully lol.
because it was so hard to find a clutch and horizontal shaft engine. but vertical shaft lawn mower engines were everywhere
@@BikesandBeards Can confirm, Murray lawnmower engines not ideal lol….they do leave an awesome smoke trail though.
I always get the frames and front axle and tires and steering but always struggle with the drive train
@@american_patriot1776 get 2 ball joints and attach the ball part of one to the front of a metal rod and do the same with ball joint 2 but on the back of the rod. then connect the fron tto the engine and the back to your axle

I've actually done something like this in North Dakota. In North Dakota, it has to have a horn, headlight, taillight and brake light. Fenders too! Motor has to meet requirements. Not real tough here.
The highway patrol comes to your house and does the inspection and there's a small fee. Paperwork is then given to take to the DMV and wallah!
I built a trike and it was a blast. The transmission eventually went out and I dismantled it. But not before having the time of my life! I drove to work in the snow all winter. Never got pulled over.

This bike has a interesting look and definitely garnered some respect from those mechanics. Oh, man, this was awesome. As a kid, we'd walk to the local hardware store to check out the air tires for our homemade go-carts--but could never afford them. Those supersized Harbor Freight wheels brought back a lot of memories. :D

Dude you unlocked a whole memory for me thats insane me and my buddies would do the same thing, and every hardware store was a dream. Some of those tractor and trailer rims and tires would look so unintentionally sick, we would drool over them haha
8mo from now Harbor freight will probably release HF Mini Bike with Bikes and Beards collaboration. Like the Colman mini bike that Tractor Supply sells. Only the B&B bike will kick @$$!

Harbor freight really should include a base 100 to 200 cc motorcycle engine in their line up for those wanting to replace their aging ones in dirt bikes and other atv units. They already have a replacement for pretty much everything else. I replaced a brush trimmer motor last year for 120 bucks and less than an hour to swap and clean the unit up. The thing is pretty old and it was far cheaper than buying a new one. There are a ton of other older equiments that people swap engines out on with ease. I have even seen people swap out engines in the little skid steers with their 22 hp model.

You know Sean, I have a little 19 m/o boy, and isn't it amazing how you get to see the world through their eyes? I've likened it to getting to experience things for the first time, all over again. It's a very unique, and cool, and I feel undertalked about part of parenthood. I've said so many times, you only get to experience something for the first time once, but having a kid almost feels like it breaks that rule. Seeing them excited about the world is intoxicating and rewarding!

@TexRobNC I agree. When my twin sons were young (4 or 5 maybe) we were watching some toy commercials and an ad for some plastic goo that came out of a former turned into a silly blob of a toy. I said "so what do you do with it then?". And like I just said the stupidest thing ever they both yelled out " you play with it!". I guess as an adult I forgot all about playing with stuff in that sense.

Those predator engines are very good, not sure where you're hearing aboutthem blowing up. Some stuff definitely is crap, but not those.

In TX you can get custom vehicle registration and inspection. All you need is working headlight, taillight and brakes. if it has blinkers they have to work, if it doesn't have blinkers then you have to use hand signals.Thats it.
This was amazing 😂👌🏼 yall guys is genius making it street legal with that pastic peice only maybe if you had the turn signals 🤔 you would've get the inspection I live in Pennsylvania also

Sean. I need your help. I lost my late wife to breast cancer in 2018 I stumbled upon your channel while on a serotonin hunt. I went out and bought my first bike which is a Yamaha 950 v star which I love. I named it humble pie. After a failed relationship I take to the road and leave all of my disappointments in the roads surpassed. I recently began dating again. My current girlfriend also lost her fiancé a little over a year ago. She recently mentioned that she would love to own a motorcycle but she needs one with an automatic transmission the only place or person I would even trust her to get her first bike from besides you and the guys from srk cycles. Btw we’re not afraid the first bit to two up to Penn and couple ride back to Clover SC. Major props to you and your whole operation. I love these builds you do. I would really like to see maybe this made into 3 episodes, the design, the building and testing. You would also maybe get more return on investment (three monetized videos) too meaning you can make these videos until youre 105 years old :D
Absolute best part of the video is this kid Don't get me wrong I like the chopper he built because that's basically what it was was a chopper lol But his kid wanted to follow in his footsteps is way better than anything else.
I made a working water pump/lawn mower go cart when I was 12yrs old. My grandpa was a Craig, we all need a Craig in our lives.
I made a swing out tire carrier out of a HF ladder rack ones. Do to a catastrophic metal fatigue issues, I almost lost the tire o. The highway. The welds didn’t break, the metal ripped. Real quality ladder rack
Just watched this and the Home Depot bike; y’all are a bad influence…I want to build one myself!!! Harbor freight frame and the Home Depot fat tires!! I feel a “hey y’all, hold my beer and watch this” event coming on!!! Totally in a good way!! My best friends as a teenager were a bunch of farm-boy brothers who built all kinds of stuff, like a chainsaw powered bicycle, a rotor tiller powered freight cart for hauling hay and feed. Then we hotrodded and restored the old farm truck for the youngest sister to drive.
Imagining growing up with motorcycles that fit every inch of your growth ready n available.

It's cool, but you need to make it street legal to call it that. Get the inspection, get plates and insurance. Also break down the cost of the build. Thanks for the video, cool concept.

One little thing, rake on the front fork would have helped..?
Addition 1 mount the front wheel with a pivot point and then use a shock absorber with an overload spring as a front suspension.

Should have started with a Harbor Freight trailer. You would have got two wheels with axles and two leaf springs for suspension front and back. The tail light from the trailer also has the license plate light so that would have worked for the tail light. If you stuck one on each side in the back of the bike you would take care of the rear blinker requirement too. I couple of the amber side markers from the trailer would work for the front blinkers. The tongue and trailer hitch could have been adapted to make it tow-able behind a car or camper!
If you want to really get crazy you could use a large inverter generator in the middle of the bike and grab a large electric motor to drive the back wheel. The battery for the generator would power the bike for a short distance and with the generator running you would have constant power to the electric motor. I think it would be the first hybrid motorcycle build!
This channel has become a huge inspiration for me. As a new rider with only a few months of experience. I really wish I watched you before I went and just bought my bike. Mind you I love my 2021 crf 300L. So I think I got lucky. The content is always great and gives me the laughs I need right now. Riding keeps me smiling on the road. Keep it up. Awesome

What problems did you run into when getting it inspected and street legal? I bought a dune buggy. And have been through the ringer. Trying to get it street legal.
Laughed so hard, 🤣 I genuinely wonder how far you have to keep going to get this bike street legal, a long way, or are these guys almost there, just curious what the process is. A couple lines of text from Sean would help, he already went to the inspection, I'm sure they shared some info.

@@BikesandBeards no kids myself but a now, 8 yo niece. I spoil her rotten. Whatever she is in to, I give her gifts to foster it. She loved to climb on my motorcycle and pretend. Gave her my gloves and 1/2 helmet to put on and took several pics. The smile on her face was priceless. She loved hitting the brights and the horn as a 3-4 year old. Your boy is adorable and as hard as some days may get, when he gets older you will wish you had more of these "younger" days to enjoy.
