Todd, what a spectacular walk and talk tour of Sanford, NC's town center! That place is nice. Next time I'm in Pinehurst, NC (which is about 30 minutes away), I will make it a point to visit Sanford and explore those antique shops and several other places of interest.
I have grown to love Sanford. I learned that the Government Center on Carthage Street was the old Hospital in Sanford and was built in 1931. My Grandmother, Mother, and Uncles were born there. Sanford was called Brick City before Sanford. The houses that are now run down were beautiful when my Mom was a little girl. If you walk into Family Grounds, the owner will be able to tell you the history of just the building he's in and its beautiful in there. When I moved here in 06, Downtown Sanford did not look this neat. You should check out Downtown Jonesboro next! Even tinier. It's actually in Sanford. Where Brick City Boba is, they have an outside area where you can sit and there is a memorial for the train tracks that used to run through Sanford.
@@toddventure 2 years ago, out of curiosity, I weighed a Dozen Creme Filled Doughnuts, from there........5.95 lbs! They probably have 20 plus, different types of Doughnuts.
Lately, a donut is hard to find they seem to sell out earlier than ever. I've been 5 times and left empty-handed. Not like it used to be. Sad. I've been going since they opened. Had to drive to the Phoenix Bakery in Pittsboro to finally enjoy a good donut.
@@lovinbluegrass They open at 5:30 AM, used to stay open, til 2:30. Now it's 1:30 Don't think they make as many, per day, as they used to. And, when they sell out, they're not making any more. Best thing I've found to do, is call in an order.
What you're not seeing is that homeless and drunk congregate at the depot and the prince motel that is now shut down due to drugs and prostitution. That coffe house tho, I love that place. I think it was called Java something when I lived there 2015-2016
It's unfortunately in every town. I try to remain upbeat. I'll let the local news take care of the rest. Thanks for watching. Drink some coffee for me. 🙂❤️

Great family history. Thank you for the suggestion. ❤️
I like Sanford because that is where I buy my beer before I hit US1 on my way to Jordan lake
HMMM Walked right by Sandras Bakery at 15:05. Should've stopped in and got some Doughnuts. You'd never eat another Krispy Kreme, or Dunkin.
Next time. 🙂
