It's been clear in this show that when the characters are intimate with each other, they shy away from certain details. Those moments are meant for them alone, not for us to pry into. However, the show does delve into those certain details when intimacy goes wrong due to someone or the other messing up. It’s really an amazing choice of writing-style.
In the novel, it was explained that Luke bought 5 aphrodisiacs and used 2. But after the teleportation and the price soared, he kept the last 3 for emergency funds.
As others probably pointed out, the fade to black happens in the books to. Caleb is forgetting the Eris sex scene was a face fade to black season one as well. It isn't just a season 2 thing
She didn't lie though? The word "kusuri" in Japanese is a general term meaning drugs. Whether it's a medicine or aphrodisiac they would all be call a kusuri.
Also, what's a medicine but a drug used to treat a disease. Rudy is considering his ED as a disease, so if using the aphrodisiac is instrumental to treat that disease, that's the essence of what a medicine *is.* It's just, after taking his "medicine", he had to also follow it up with some "physical therapy", too.
It's an artistic choice. The author doesn't hold back but he also doesn't really spoil the intimate moments, which i think is great since it shows respect. You do get details every now and then whenever Rudy talks about it retrospectively like how he was cruel to Sylphie in that scene because of the aphrodisiac and how guilty he felt.
His recap of the night with Eris might be the most crass it gets, in terms of details. Later stuff like complaining how his jaw got sore is a lot more tame and the rest are euphemistic.
In the novel Rudy remembered parts of their night the morning after. The aphrodisiac made him go pretty crazy and he remembered Sylphys pained face. So it was pretty painful for Sylphy but she never said to slow down or to stop. He thought that he messed up again but when he turned around Sylphy was lying there in the bed with him.
And now you know why Mushoku Tensei is praised so highly by its fanbase. And we haven't even reached the REALLY juicy parts of the story, yet. When we get to season 3, it will finally become clear, even to the normies, why MT is the best isekai of all time! Rifujin is a genius writer!
I think what Jacob was trying to say was it was cool that they were both willing to *WHATEVER * in the bedroom just in case Rudeus desires were downright diabolical (sexually) and Sylphie wasn’t ready for it. I think that’s what he was getting at but I don’t understand why he’d presume Rudeus to be some super experienced sexual deviant in the bedroom.

Oh so you didnt notice how much well thought was in this animation of series about sexual things from season 1, we are seeing this through rudeus' glasses. If you noticed how despicable he is from s1 ep1 to ep8 how EROTIC R18 all those scene is, because its all degenerate rudeus sees those things, like a pornographic thing. But this time with slyphy, and the first time with eris too. Hasnt shown one single overly sexual things because both was pure love.
My thoughts about Mushoku Tensei so far: Its a strange development and kind surprised that you see this show that someone can die in any second, like the ramdom encounter with Dragon God or just teleport to somewhere unknown, have a happy end of season. Most of people should like more of season 1 because of action and cool caracters, but in mature writting this season is better. Not just for the ED, but the continuation of development and get deep in the mistery of the world like the girl i forget that also is from the real world and get summoned to this world of fantasy. To a psychological perpective is so interesting that you can see Rudeus be a adult in a adolescent body get new problems and new things to deal with get good relationships with friends and romantic activity with different girls/woman's and grow as a human being get a second chance of be a better man. Thats the good thing about ficction, learn from stories things that you should apply to real life, but people usually not absorb that and get focused just on the entertainment...
This story is exceptionally well developed. Even the web novel had me in tears in many places and it's some of the most engaging read I've ever seen in my life. When it comes to the anime adaptation... It'll be a mix of both the action and the mature writing going forward. It isn't nonstop action, but a lot of cooldown between intense drama, intrigue and fighting as well. This isn't the chronicle of a great warrior's record of combat, but a man's life journey. Upbringing, education, love, work, living and struggles.
The author does the same thing in the LN as well , I see no problem with the fade to black considering theres also moments of the characters talking about it but i think its not just censoring the fact that early Mushoku Tensei didn't censure any sexual scenes was specifically cuz thos scenes showed something relevant to the story being written . If the show follows the LN dont worry you'll your silly moments lmao
To be fair, they are not LN readers, so they wouldn't know whether something in the anime is in the LN or not. They're just responding to what they see in the anime and how they feel about it.

One thing making this episode and Rudy x Sylphie's relationship stand out now that they're open with each other is just .... communication. They have now talked about EVERYTHING that has happened to them and they continue to actively communicate with each other here like you need to do in a healthy relationship, something so many other anime - even in the romance genre, or actually especially in the romance genre - lack
He actually makes it a point to maintain communication throughout his relationship. But he does stumble into holding on to secrets because he doesn't want the truth potentially hurting her.
Btw if you forgot the description of the aphrodisiac from ep 6. This is what the vendor said: When men drink a sip, it lets them go 10 times without pulling out. When woman drink a sip, the'll be drooling and spreading their legs. But in the end he added thats what the rumors say. So it could be a bit of exaggeration. Anyway Rudy drank like 60% of the bottle and sylphie 40%.
They're not Millis adherents . No big church wedding for them. Magic is a simple affair in the setting: husband announces his intent to be married, the wife consents, the husband gets them a place to stay. Either can be the bread winner. Even Paul begged Philip for a job and a house, which his cousin gave. A large house in Buena and position as the village knight.

Have you read the novels? Know that meme with the soldier, "I know things are scary right now, but trust me... *It's going to get way worse* " applies with Part 2 and next season. But there is also so much genuine joy in the midst of all that and the story is one of the most beautiful and engaging I've ever read.

The thing with the love potion isn't that it just increases the desire to have sex, it makes him VERY rough. He went full jackhammer on her. It hurt her. There was no finesse. That's part of why he had an anxiety attack the morning after. She was so out of it/into it that she could only whisper three things into his ear on loop: "It feels good." "I love you." and "I'm fine."
But he has the characters recap them. Rudeus' insights into the night with Sylphy was quite the read. Because he's going through an anxiety attack over it.

Going past the joke and into the text. It was actually these white flowers that grew in Fittoa. The disaster wiped them out. And Philip held the formula for the medicine in his head and in his safe. Both were wiped by the disaster as well.
While the manga is panned as the worse adaptation of the story, one thing that I really like out of it is the symbolism of what holds Rudeus back. When he gets into an intimate moment or even thinks of it, the panel shifts to show him being constrained and strangled by bundles of Eris' hair. Her crimson mane had become his bonds. Him on top of Sylphy was one such moment. He had anxiety over messing up again.
So, to explain something: Sylphie will still be wearing the glasses while she's guarding Ariel. They're magic items that aid her in her duties. However, she's now allowed to drop her disguise while off duty. Also, Luke is her family now.
After all the controversy this show has had to deal with, where even the author has to come out with a public apology, you spend all this time in your reaction talking about how you'd like more shown during the bedroom? Really? LOL! smh
Funny you should hypothesize about him returning the Relic to Roxy... Yes, Sylphy will be there when Roxy gets them back. That is the only detail I'm going to give of the event.
