They should have used clear slogans, rather than confusing. Trust me, we are aware of Rape issues and nobody is against "Aurat March" but presenting such slogan might exploit the good purpose which they are trying to arouse.

I live in Canada. My body my wish is a standard statement women claim for sexual freedom. Western countries allow the sexual connection before marragie for men and women and the statement comes from this perspective. The slogan is not right and it is provocative and loose. It's all about perspective. It's not related to religion or culture. The so called librara are on one extreme and on the other hand the religious are on other extreme. .we in pakistan have cultural issues not religious one. You can refer the last speech of Siraj ul Haq where he says that all candidates of NA submit their declaration and must be checked if they have given the due claims of their sisters before they apply for electoral process
Sir with due respect I am also living in US for past 12 years and did complete my undergrad over here and no very well how western culture works. When we live in Islamic country then certainly women has rights as per teachings of Islam. Problem comes in Pakistan due to lack of knowledge about Islam and right of women. Sorry to say but these moms pops women have no clue what a poor women go through and they made fun of this whole aurat march. In western culture Women are unfortunately does not have that much respect as I myself part of a corporate culture. I’ll go into details sometime.

Dear Sir, I completely respect your opinion and idea of freedom. If it’s about the rights, yes I also do stand for it. They are equal in all and every respect and reserve the rights equal to any one. The problem is that if saw with an open mind and keeping in view the culture which you once expected in your Video, the slogans and writing on some of the play cards is controversial and completely against our social, moral and religious norms. No one is against the rights of women. But also no one is allowed tore a part the traditions and moral norms. I know there are many odds in our society regarding the gender discrimination and women rights but this is not the way. Yes you shall talk about the rights but by being within the morality. We all know where this started from “my body my choice” and also know the outcomes of that. So what I think is that no matter what I will always stand beside my Mother, my Sister, my Wife and my Daughter for each and every right but at the same time, I will never allow any one to rip the social and moral norms of my society. In west Govt pay for everything plus $508 then they claim rights over children but in east father,brother & husband pay till we die.In east Mera Jism Meri Marzi or Lo baith gayee sahe se with open legs means something else.Either Govt of Pak take care of all the expenses of a child or let parents decide what is Good for children within cultural and religious boundaries. To be honest. Before watching this video my perspective on this topic was completely different, since I grew up in a culture/moral values where this topic hasn't been an issue to discuss. So when it all started nationaly I just thought that yes people are right when they are opposing this nara "mera jism meri marzi". It acknowledges a fact that since whatever you see or hear can't be right I didn't dig in deep to know the actual reason of this. Now after listening to you, I logically understand that it was manupulated by the state or whoever, in order to give rights to all those men who try to compete with women in terms of their right or hold women rights whenever men predict fear of giving away physical, emotional and financial support. Agreed. Women have more rights in western countries than in Islamic countries including Pakistan. People should learn different perspectives, and understand where they are wrong, instead of nullifying others' perspective completely. There may be some bad points in western culture but positive aspects should be highlighted and accepted. Some people here in comments are saying we love our principles and our culture, yet a woman cannot walk alone at night without any fear of being harassed.

I live in uk and have European wife since 8 years. My wife used to work full time as all women work, but she is more happy staying in home with kids. We both agree we cant force our kids for any good teaching. Kids have alot rights which effect in good teaching. We both 100% agreed Similarly women equally rights mean equal financial and other responsibility. So its more burden to women in the west, which they not designed for. Downfall of equal rights is issue in family structure as we see no family structure left in uk specially kids left whe they become 15 or 16. If you force they took your kids by social security. My wife get married with me because she couldn't find anyone reasonble in her society who looking for family life and kids. As guys not interested in family life at all.

I m Pakistani woman, I don't think these "Aurat Azadi march" ladies represent me and other Pakistani women. Their slogan "Mera Jism meri marzi" should be interpreted with the other slogans they chant. Plz be sure that we as Pakistani ladies(muslims or non-Muslims) can't support those other slogans. I have come across this video of yours accidentally. I found 'auret march' pure controversial. The way pakistani media highlighted and created the hype, it added fuel to the fire. In Western society welfare of the children is paramount as you said sir, however women have similar issues and problems such as physical, mental, sexual harassment and abuse, inequality etc. Rather than dividing dividing into to left vs right or liberal vs conservation groups and choosing in between can bring further chaos and more injustice! Huge respect for your early work, especially your film.
Thanks for the views, and such rights are already given by Islam but some people in the name of Aurat March exploiting the society the deen as well society, they should be make laws more harsh for them who exploit the women's and women rights and women's/man's should follow the what laws are given to them. Ashir bhai issue is not with the slogan mera jism meri marzi.. The rage triggered from previous aurat march when social media got flooded with weird hoardings like 'apni roti khud banao' and some severely nasty banners/streamers. From that point on society is suspecting the intentions and considering these women planted. Looking forward to your thoughts on this aspect.

When we live in Islamic country then certainly women has rights as per teachings of Islam. Problem comes in Pakistan due to lack of knowledge about Islam and right of women. Sorry to say but these moms pops women have no clue what a poor women go through and they made fun of this whole aurat march. Dear Sir, I completely respect your opinion and idea of freedom. If it’s about the rights, yes I also do stand for it. They are equal in all and every respect and reserve the rights equal to any one. The problem is that if saw with an open mind and keeping in view the culture which you once expected in your Video, the slogans and writing on some of the play cards is controversial and completely against our social, moral and religious norms. No one is against the rights of women. But also no one is allowed tore a part the traditions and moral norms. I know there are many odds in our society regarding the gender discrimination and women rights but this is not the way. Yes you shall talk about the rights but by being within the morality. We all know where this started from “my body my choice” and also know the outcomes of that. So what I think is that no matter what I will always stand beside my Mother, my Sister, my Wife and my Daughter for each and every right but at the same time, I will never allow any one to rip the social and moral norms of my society. Yes we need to improve our society and loads of improvement is needed but still not at the cost of what we are proud of.

To be honest. Before watching this video my perspective on this topic was completely different, since I grew up in a culture/moral values where this topic hasn't been an issue to discuss. So when it all started nationaly I just thought that yes people are right when they are opposing this nara "mera jism meri marzi". It acknowledges a fact that since whatever you see or hear can't be right I didn't dig in deep to know the actual reason of this. Now after listening to you, I logically understand that it was manupulated by the state or whoever, in order to give rights to all those men who try to compete with women in terms of their right or hold women rights whenever men predict fear of giving away physical, emotional and financial support.

Agreed. Women have more rights in western countries than in Islamic countries including Pakistan. People should learn different perspectives, and understand where they are wrong, instead of nullifying others' perspective completely. There may be some bad points in western culture but positive aspects should be highlighted and accepted. Some people here in comments are saying we love our principles and our culture, yet a woman cannot walk alone at night without any fear of being harassed.

I live in uk and have European wife since 8 years. My wife used to work full time as all women work, but she is more happy staying in home with kids. We both agree we cant force our kids for any good teaching. Kids have alot rights which effect in good teaching. We both 100% agreed Similarly women equally rights mean equal financial and other responsibility. So its more burden to women in the west, which they not designed for. Downfall of equal rights is issue in family structure as we see no family structure left in uk specially kids left whe they become 15 or 16. If you force they took your kids by social security. My wife get married with me because she couldn't find anyone reasonble in her society who looking for family life and kids. As guys not interested in family life at all.
Point is woman has the right to decide and choose the life style she wants.

I m Pakistani woman, I don't think these "Aurat Azadi march" ladies represent me and other Pakistani women. Their slogan "Mera Jism meri marzi" should be interpreted with the other slogans they chant. Plz be sure that we as Pakistani ladies(muslims or non-Muslims) can't support those other slogans. We have our moral values. Yes education security and respect must be given to ladies. But these "aurat March" ladies don't chant slogans for that.

I have come across this video of yours accidentally. I found 'auret march' pure controversial. The way pakistani media highlighted and created the hype, it added fuel to the fire. In Western society welfare of the children is paramount as you said sir, however women have similar issues and problems such as physical, mental, sexual harassment and abuse, inequality etc. Rather than dividing dividing into to left vs right or liberal vs conservation groups and choosing in between can bring further chaos and more injustice! Huge respect for your early work, especially your film.
Thanks for the views, and such rights are already given by Islam but some people in the name of Aurat March exploiting the society the deen as well society, they should be make laws more harsh for them who exploit the women's and women rights and women's/man's should follow the what laws are given to them. So this means society will remain in balance everyone will knows his rights boundaries rather on the road whatever they want to do, because guidelines should be equal for all.

Ashir bhai issue is not with the slogan mera jism meri marzi.. The rage triggered from previous aurat march when social media got flooded with weird hoardings like 'apni roti khud banao' and some severely nasty banners/streamers.
From that point on society is suspecting the intentions and considering these women planted.
Looking forward to your thoughts on this aspect.
Mera jisam meri merzi, it's sound not well in our society because of many reason. There can be many others slogan which have the same meaning.
