- Mark E. Smith has died. He was 60 years old.
THE FALL fut fondé par Mark E. Smith à Manchester à la fin des années 70 en plein essor punk.
Ce groupe mélange du son post punk, rockabilly, garage et new wave.
One of the greatest live performances. No compromises.
The Fall was a major influence in my life and was the catalyst that fueled my punk roots since i was 18. He's a legend in the music world. Omg, how deeply saddened I am right now and beyond words. My snarly big-hearted punk genius musical icon and legend has left us physically today but will always be in my soul. I loved him 😪 Thank you Mark E. Smith, "The Fall." RIP Big Prinz! 💖🌠🌺🍻✌️
It was hard , wasn't it ? 40 year fan here , Mark was like a "boss" or something ...He was always going to be there ...on my ass , letting me know I didn't have it exactly right !@ MES You are missed BIG TIME ! THANKS FOR THE GUIDANCE !!! We are still catching up , Mark !
Jane, he was a one off. You might like The Fall video I have just created for their song No Bulbs. It's my latest upload on my channel if you and others want to check it out?
Gosh Jane, I believe I have more in common with you than any woman I've ever met. Your sympathies are mine exactly.
I have watched this several times and it just gets better and better. God, I wish I was there.
Is right. On all sorts of caper. !!!
Never fails to surprise, delight and repulse me, all at the same time.
a very fair appraisal
They have had some great bass players over the years, this is one of them.
He's learnt a valuable lesson from previous Bass Players he's protecting his Amp so Mark can't interfere with it ✌️
He's a beast, rock solid
Totally agree, whilst unfortunately having one of there worst ever lead guitarists at the same time.
Thank god for the Fall . One of a handful of bands that truly matter. I rate them with V.U.
Usually about 4-6 minutes.
The ramblings of a mad man.
Green - just google "the annotated fall"
Have a bleedin guess
The ramblings of an alcoholic.
“Rhythmischief” (Rhythm Is Chief)
This is a poem about that pop group The Fall.
Loved by all
Who really know what they’re talking about
When it comes to music.
Use important words like genius
Cynicism, nihilism.
Best band of all time, ‘til Fall time, Fall rhythm.
Long ago awhile, under his breath,
A pyramid slave mutters,
Says I really must try to eat myself fitter.
Asks himself why
Are people grudgeful, so bitter?
(Later he’d form the best band ever,
‘til the dawn of Fall time, when all got better.)
Now just trudgeful he climbs the steps
Loaded front and back with bricks
Wishing they were sticks.
Thinks of his beloved Brix
And that other Styx
And hieroglyphics
For fireside lyrics.
A lot do I like The Mighty Fall.
Their jaunty-angle anti-Spangle rhythm mangle.
Skin and string and vocal cord tangle.
Each song just a breath, in then out.
From last to first, none better or worse.
Now they Fall no more, by untimely death finished.
And all that remains is a pyramid, unfinished.
my friend punk rock\.dziękuje Mark,dziękuje Elena,dziękuje The Fall.Zajebisty band.
The best band ever. Great sound this show ⚡️
The fact that he's pissed and still performs makes me love this band even more...
Havnt seen them sinse the early 80s.. And need to do so again.. QUALITY!!!!!
The fact that he was dying & he knew it but still came out in a wheelchair was horrible but a trooper to the end
RIP Chief ✌️
Love it from Calgary!
One of the best fall line ups for years
he is the most fucking surreal frontman ever
Songwriter
Love the line up! its super energetic everything is in place, and as this is so important for THE FALL, the tightness, like an arrow, a rocket...
Simply amazing. Love The Fall.
mark e smith can sing to a coldplay song and stills sound cooler than most bands
What a great comment -and I hate coldplay so much.
pissed as a trumpet annoying, fantastic.old skool
If ever a bassist deserved to be turned up...it's here.
Yeah he is fuckin solid man !
Never tune the Fall's instruments. They wouldn't be The Fall if you did..
Oh dear, I misread the original comment. Turned, not tuned. Yes, you're right.
RIP Mark. And what a Bass player ,man he is good.
Bass boy fuckin fueling the tune.
Top boy!!!
How gorgeous is Elena? WOW!
+Steve Hurst Absolutely gorgeous; she never seems to age.
+Steve Hurst Yes indeedy, lucky MES ( and his tongue lol )
+Steve Hurst Yes indeedy, lucky MES ( and his tongue lol )
+Steve Hurst She sees the artist. Always attractive.
Shes an average looking european girl. Wouldn't give her a second glance if she wasn't in a rock band
So damn loud and cool..Mark e Smith was god ❤️
The mans a fucking genius.....
Gonna miss you Mark. Nice one geezer!
love it when he turns up the bass. a man after my own heart. gotta love the girl on keyboards. ultra cute!
It's his wife, Elena.
Indeed. Sincerity and talent and heart are more important than looks.
I love how mark has class... he looks like a guy that got out of the office and say ok is time for a rock show and kick ass...
Great film
Tous les gens qui ecoute a ce chanson comprend parfaitment tous les mots bien sur!
First Class Punk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW saw them in London took me back to the real punk days what am I saying they were awesome gritty just what a good hardcore band should be!!!!!!!
super concert!
The messing with people's instruments does make it better
Great track
This is just fucking marvelous.
rip mark e smith legend
J'y étais ! Super souvenir. Merci :)
Mark Smith RIP. The Fall, awesome raw music of my generation. He had hot wives. The cowboy in the picture is a left handed shooter (pistol on left hip) like me. I love that. I love Mark Smith and The Fall.
Genius a polymath of art sounds!!!
What a great clip
Till the end excellent support
waouh !! quel souvenir !! trop bon ton montage, congrats dude
Thanks! I thought it was Bury, but wasn't sure. And by the way, you are the coolest guy in the galaxy!
New to me...Love them
Cannot be beaten
Absolutely brilliant, they've still got it whatever 'it' is. Secundum Nihilismi I think you may be ever so slightly missing the point about Mark.
There aren't many drummers that wallop a kit like Keiron.
Can't get any better x
Brilliant.Unsurpassed.
Pissed up Shaman. Genius.
A polymath of Music Art!!!
Amazing
A staggering-around drunk, onstage 'n ranting out-of-tune lyrics that no one can understand.
Now that's a class R & R act.
Good at extending moments..
dans mon top des concerts de 2011 voir des années antérieurs... :)
The Mikecable is just never quite long enough for Mark E.
Tex WILLER in background,awesome...
Damn! R.I.P. MES. ☆☆☆☆☆
Astounding track new they were good but wwwwwwoooooooooooooow have to see them again if i can...............
hes dead
cooooll!
For 30+ years this wordsmith extraordinaire has rocked the soul of humane kind. Check his record, check the guy's rock record......
viva La Fall
they called it Nutbush, Nutbush city limits
Fiery Jack haha nailed it!
well spotted
..on steroids
✌️✌️
powerhouse drummer
To be honest, I never really understood any of the Falls lyrics. But I love to fill the gaps with my own thoughts.
Thank you for a great post!
same here...I understand absolutely ZERO of the lyrics, both accoustically and contentwise lol. It could be the phonebook he is reading out of, or football team line-ups
Totally agree, it was more Mark E. Smith's presence that counted for me
Majestic
One of the best tracks they have done, astounding avaunt garde art new wave / punk ???
RIP Mark E. Smith
Is there anyone who still hasn't heard 'Cheap Space Chant' ?
In UA-cam, search for 'Timekode, Mark E Smith'
and listen to the strangest and best MES/Fall
collaboration of them all...
The track Bury from 2010
Fantastic video - Thx for sharing. What software do you use to get the shakey effect it really works well. Don't tell me pls that you simply shook the camera!!
Saw The Fall last night in Cardiff - enigmatic Mark E walk off stage 2/3 way through set and left rest of band to sort of carry on for a while..... M.E + Smith = Legend!
This is human music
This vid sums up perfectly why the Fall are the best. The band slogging their guts out delivering a thunderous sound, MES looking cool as fuck pretending the audience aren't even there. I bet he loves the reactions really!
Nous ne comprendons pas les mots.
Personne ne comprend les mots
Si tu comprends l’attitude, tu comprendras les mots...
Boss. Rest in peace laa.
Merci à tous pour vos commentaires encourageants ! Thanks u very much !
Merci Julien L alias Stormi
Real art does not need piercings.
Boss.
Funky number !
Damn, that worked.
I wonder if Mr,s Smith will play again with the current band?
Bon Voyage, Mark
What happened to Elena? Not a word since marks death. If anyone has any idea please let me know. Thanks.
She's on Instagram
Off he goes again, fucking with the amps
@theimposter1979 the songs called bury, from the 2010 album your future our clutter
A fkn mazing... and the bass player oh well, he's attrqctive
RIP MES
Cool crowd
very well said, i couldn't agree more- i understand he's an icon in england, why do you think he never crossed over to the states?
Tragic Ivor Cutler, John Peel and now Mark E Smith. Who's left?
I'll just twiddle with these buttons and annoy the hell out of everyone!
Anyone know what this brilliant track is called and which album it's on
???
your future, our clutter !
Bury Pts.1+3 off of the album Your Future, Our Clutter
3:42 😲😍
holy fucking shit
Fucking shape, shifting Music!
Can anyone tell me what LP this song comes from please?
'🎵 Nutbush over the limit 🎵'
i like how he's like fuck it, the bass needs to be louder and just cranks it up without a 2nd thought around 4:00
fuckin shit, this is intense!
good work!!!
there should only be one band....the fall.
Amen
He's like some A.I. generated freak from another dimension ...... or just pissed. Either way pretty great.
Why the Tex Willer backdrop?
