    Synopsis:
Pope Francis has stated that we must stop “masquerading before God” in relation to our sin. We must take seriously the reality and nature of sin and the impact that sin has in our lives. It is not an exaggeration to say that our attitude towards sin has eternal consequence. Sin wounds and at times destroys our relationship with Christ.
The Spirit of God convicts us of our sin not to condemn us but to convert us. In this segment we will see how
the Spirit draws us closer to Christ by revealing to us our sin.

O Spirit Come!! What wonderful words to hear and say every day. I call on the Holy Spirit every day of my life because I need his counsel and guidance. Thank you, Jesus, for the Sacrament of Confession. What would happen to us if we didn’t have it?

Valuable teaching. The confessional is not a torture chamber, but an encounter with mercy.More people need to know this.

Such a profound truth - that the Holy Spirit, unlike man, convicts to convince not condemn - the devil condemns - like the old saying, "The devil knows your name, but calls you by your sin. God knows your sin, but calls you by your name." Come Holy Spirit!

Our sin condemns us. This is just a fact and that’s why we need forgiveness to be washed clean from sin und to be saved from condemnation.
The devil’s spirit in us, in contrast, does not condemn us for our sin, but lies about it by justifying our own sin and by calling good what is actually bad. When it comes to the sin of others the devil’s spirit finds always reasons to condemn others while justifying ourselves.
God‘s Holy Spirit is the other way round. He forbids us to look onto the sin of others, but urges us to look onto our own sin, which condemns us. When we realize our situation, we will desperately ask God for forgiveness of our sin and will surly stop looking towards the sin of others. He will forgive us, urging us to treat others like they are already forgiven as well, while actually only God can forgive sin and others must go through the same procedure as we did, to be really free. For us, we shall always treat everyone as a spotless creature of God, independent from the fact, that they may condemn us and God may find unforgiven sin in them. It’s not our business. Our business is to keep ourselves clean by following the Holy Spirit and not looking onto sins in others.
