People analyzing how Peter played the hand are cracking me up. The dude sat down at a game he's bankrolled to play for about 120 million years and kept tossing his whole stack in for shits and giggles.
i understand if you think raver is cheating, aint no way you calling with ace high in a 50k pot, dude definitely has devices in his pockets, hes in hcl video production for a reason..
Live reads are more important than people think. Combine that with a guy losing and is steaming and he's a lag whale on top of that. World class call and LOL to people saying that it's sketchy
It's not that calling with Ace high is bad in general. It's this specific situation that makes it bad. Peter has a zillion combos of hands that he's bluffing with, that still win. Bad call, lucky result
@joeltroughton3021 no one can play perfect gto but if you do you don't need any live reads. It's all percentages, you call check bet a certain number of times no matter what the oppenant is doing.
Not really. You're only gonna flop a set about 1 in 7 times. He would have get the full double an extremely high percentage of the time to justify that call since the other ~88% you're just gonna be out of position on a flop you don't like.
Lol cant believe he turned the card over, shouldve just waited to see if it gets mucked. Nothing would be worse for him there than to turn over a 10 lol
After the J4 hand, I can never feel anything that HCL does is legit. Things like this will be suspect because you don’t see people making these calls in those positions. The fact that he’s an HCL employee is a red flag. In my opinion, you shouldn’t play at your own live stream, I feel like it’s a conflict of interest.
The posts that say that this is suspect are laughable… he must be the best actor in Hollywood! The Robbie cheat had layers of confusing behavior, this did not. People who think you shouldn’t ever call in that position would get bullied in super aggressive games. Peter polarized his hand … it’s 6,7 /set or complete air
Does nobody want to call out Raver for angling in the first hand. Clearly moved his chips forward once, then a suspicious picking up of his stack to his other side.
I don’t remember seeing Peter torching money like this in the million dollar game! He must have gotten that out of his system at these lower stakes lol
it's good to know that despite all the training and theory out there, plenty people still just don't know what they're talking about. anyone making this call in every spot the same is going to be rich. the difference in our opinion is down to one of us understanding the spot and the other having no idea.
The only way this makes sense is he sniffed out he didn't have an 8 because 4 or 5 would bet smaller. And then assume he missed wit kj qj or similar. Or low ace

I feel like I'm missing something. What makes us think this was brilliant live read rather than a purely reckless gamble? What are we thinking he picked up on? Furthermore, even if Raver believes Peter was bluffing, Raver admits he's not even holding much of a bluff catcher. It looks to me like he just went pure maniac and got super lucky. It worked out this time, but I'm not seeing anything "legendary" here.
i wouldnt put it as a legendary call, cause prior hand peter guy bluff him with nothing, so you reclass peter as a bull shitter with money and calling with ace high is pretty easy
Assuming the dealer cannot reveal the card, his hand would be mucked and the calling player would win. Simply showing one card is not enough, casinos require both cards be shown for the winning hand
Thats not to crazy bruv, actually thats a pretty nice call accordin to GTO to which calls sometimes in this spot dependin on how the villain bets flop and turn and river !
Too results oriented calling the A 9 a good call. If Peter has A 10, his shove is virtually the same bluff but Peter would win. Then would the announcer say, worst call ever because he's losing to too many bluffs?
It's a nice call. Peter is all angling like he wants to raise the flop only to call 1k then bets pot on turn J .... J doesn't play like that and any rational player won't bet pot with an 8x hand on the turn, it looks like a drawing hand 67, 9T open enders and gutshots like QT. Now the river... when you have opponents who jam almost 2x pot on river (to put you all in ironically) it's quite tough to play them. Generally 1 of two things is true, they think that you're capable of overcalling a check-called top pair type hand or they are highly polarized in general. I personally tend to have it when I overbet rivers (*winks*) and I won't go over 1.5x pot anyway but this Peter guy is the literal personification of bluff-heavy. Why on Earth do you overbet the pot with ANYTHING other than Jx or a bluff? Logically the J doesn't play the line he took on any street, so it has to be a bluff. Of course when you're results oriented like I am this all makes sense and sounds smart... and if Peter had AJ it's just nonsense... hence the beauty of the game dumba$$!
