I’ve had some really rotten dates and my ex-husband of 22 years (20 of them pretty happy) had a midlife crisis in his 40’s and decided he wanted a baby (he went and got the snip on his own no pressure. Then emotionally abused me for 2 years as his way of being able to be the victim because I eventually did ask him to leave. Main reason was I couldn’t do everything I used to after a severe car accident. And I STILL would never say all men are bad or cheaters. Young people wasting their lives living by these rules is so sad. Like just go on a date and have fun activity!

I had many female roommates, when I lived in Brooklyn,,who took much glee in their ability to get dudes to buy them dinner/ feed them, so they could save money. No interest romantically, just happy to entertain a stranger for a few hours for a fancy meal in a restaurant they can't afford otherwise. Maybe it's more common in big cities?🤷

why do so many of these couples,,, heterosexual specifically in this exact font seem to always view romantic relationships/encounters as PURELY transactional. It seems genuinely sad :/ like truly just a sad way to live and interact with others. Only doing something nice for someone as a means to an end to get what you want from that person. The idea of just wanting to do something for someone as a gesture to show that you like that person is completely foreign to everyone in these weird dating course bubbles.
Even if you do something genuinely nice for someone, it is still for a selfish reason. Whether you know it or not, your brains likes the dopamine released from doing "good deeds" It works on a subconscious level. You like feeling good for making others feel good and that is selfish. Also I'm so tired about hearing how it is sad that we treat it as a transaction. Everything in life is transactional, cause and affect, unless you believe in the philosophy of the wiggly world. I see you, your appearance attracts me. I talk to you, feel out your personality. I ask you on a date and we go for dinner. All these are transactions. We are exchanging time with each other or spending time. I'll always pay for dinner if I ask you out and won't expect anything in return, I would hope for another date but it doesn't always happen. Love is a transaction. One you have to understand the difference between infatuation and love. Love is commitment, exchange of unsaid woves to always be there for each other. Understanding you will have days where you hate each other. Love is a transaction. In a sense that we are again exchanging time, responsibilities, and whatever else. You are paying for it with your time, and time is money. Bringing it back to full circle. If we keep going on dates, I will eventually bring up sex. I'm either interested in only sleeping with you and thus I think that transaction I made of my time is worth the chance, or I actually want a serious relationship and sex is part of that. It all comes down to direct communication with whoever you are engaging right from the beginning.

All of these accounts are just salespeople funneling marks into their own personal website that sells the same crap as if they’re the author of it. In reality they’re just branding it. If you believe that all of these actions (anything that isn't just servitude) are red flags then that is the *actual* red flag: because you're clearly a crappy partner (most likely due to control/paranoia) if they all lead to cheating.
