Blowback rig is my favourite rig of all time cannot be a snowman
Got my mind thinking for my first trip to France comin up
I would suggest try this rig on one rod and see how it performs against you’re usual rigs and go from there
Another great video..and will be adopting it to my fishing ..the blow back is one of my favourite rigs ..but I feel like I worry to much about the gap between the bait and the hook .but seeing this has broadened the mind. Great stuff mate .and good luck

Been using the rig for years Leon, the only thing I've changed is, I now use the Gardner CRV hooks which are superb

Yes of you have a bigger than normal piece of putty it can help pull that hook in quicker 👌😉

Hi Leon, can I ask why you don’t use a blowback/snowman setup back in England? I’ve had good success using a snowman rig with a bit of silicone tubing on the hook instead of the ring. Going to try it with the ring though mate 👍
The lakes I’ve fished recently in uk have performed better with Popup rigs or straight nylon hooklinks
That would catch anywhere that especially on ronnie lakes all On the korda rigs look 😎

Love the longer hooklink approach Leon but not so keen on the long hair as I think the carp can detect a longer hair on the pick up! Just my opinion mate especially the uk carp as there not as big! Thanks for the your vids Danboy 👍🎣

Hi Leon grat vid mate and nice to see a simple nonsense rig. Just one qusetion why do you not use a snowman set up in the uk?
The lakes I fish are usually better suited to a Popup type presentation or a stiffer shorter type rig
@@LEONBARTROPPCARPER Ok I get you, I love the KD rig again because its so simple but I use it snowman style and do not bother with the shot on the hair.

what hooklink would you recommend for a lake with lots of snags and fishing long range so it needs to be stiff.

thank you, what knot do you use it to tie without krimping, found that figure of eight loop knot doesn’t knot well with it.
Hi Leon great video again, i am always worried sick that my rigs are going to end up tangled on the cast, looking at this rig it looks like it will tangle very easily so how do you stop tangles? i mainly use the helicopter rig as my local lake has lots of deep silt, the hook length is 6" semi stiff braid with a rubber anti tangle sleeve but 50% of the time the rig gets tangled! please help?
I always use a piece of PVA nugget
@@LEONBARTROPPCARPER yeah that does work somewhat but it still tangles even when using pva nuggets, the whole hook length swivels and tangle around the lead core, have tried shorter hook lengths of 4" which don't tangle but have never had a bite using these shorter lengths don't know why? maybe the carp can see the lead core as it is closer! who knows, but the 6" catch when they don't tangle.
