- The Video will show you how to make a traditional German Obatzda, as well as American Beer Cheese. Both dishes are perfect for you next party or as a nice Game-day Snack.
Obatzda is a Bavarian Cheese dip, with two types of cheese and is really simple to make.
The American Beer cheese is closer to a soup and starts by making a flour roux.
I really enjoyed making both Cheese dips and I'm happy to share both recipes with you.
If you want to recreate the Pretzels you can find the recipe here:

Beer AND cheese!? Whats not to love? Great video as always mate
Thank you :) stay tuned and let me know how it turns out if you ever recreate the recipe
I’ve been looking at different recipes for beer cheese to accomplish a vision that I have for what I want to do. taking bits and pieces from different types and recipes that I like so that I can bring this vision to fruition. This has been helpful. Thank you!
Looks fantastic. I'll have both please.
Looks great.
Thank you
I would like to German version
Came from reddit and subscribed 👋 This looks so delicious but could I sub out the brie with a similar cheese?
I'm not the biggest fan of brie's texture
Hi Thank you so much for subscribing :) Not sure what you can use as a substitute if you don't like the texture. The whole point of it is that you have a spread/ mesh afterwards so you kinda need this texture for the recipe.
If only the texture is the problem then you can use brie. You mash everything to a paste and if you take other cheese it still will end up as a paste. So dont worry😉
Bro the mold crust is the best part of Obazda 😁
What kind of mustard do you use?
In the video I used Dijon Mustard
