But here's the burn, as for the repair perfectly legal here in the west if done correctly all they had to do is weld (done) remove enough to put in a matching longer folded backing plate for reinforcement after to strengthen the weakened area + paint/primer + under seal. Pass the DVSA's + MOT's standards in the western countries no problem not forgetting still being safe to operate. 😆 It's the cars on the road being cheaply 'fixed up' you have to really be worried about, commercial types are poked prodded gone over with fine tooth comb on a normal day for tests well it's more in-depth than it meets the eye, only takes the smallest thing & it fails = no public/commercial operation.
@gettogo0159 I think that would be write off in the UK, major structural damage means it wouldn't be legal to fix/put back on the road.
