So you didn't need the heat blankets for the cats? I'm doing headers soon but debating on adding the cats at the same time but nervous about throwing codes with the check engine light. How many times has your check engine light gone off? I don't want to be going back to the dealership to clear the code all the time. Thanks for the video.
@@kerrylittle3900 the EOS “cats” basically straight pipes have the provisions to use the oem heat shielding for the cats.
@@kerrylittle3900 unfortunately the check engine light does come on after a few WOT pulls. Going to be removing the high flow cats and putting stock cats back on…
@@JLSpeed My installer says if I buy the elbow oxygen sensors from 2M Fabrication that should cure the check engine light problem.
@@kerrylittle3900 I tried that and it didn’t help. I even got a different set of mini cats and it didn’t work either. So just going to go back with stock for now

I have a question for you. Is there any noticeable fuel smells or exhaust fumes ?
With these specific high flow cats due to their design your bound to get some smells, but to be honest idling you don’t smell anything significant maybe a slight wiff while standing behind the car but nothing inside the car. I believe the widebands in these cars help control air and fuel to keep the smells down to a minimum.

I’ve looked at them seem I retesting, but man with how limited tuning is on the newer cars it makes them less and less appealing va getting a gen3 mustang or even 6th gen camaro or c6 or c7 vette which you can mod all day.
You recommend these cats or no cats? Need something to wake my car up.
They have been good so far, but I did get the check engine light. I plan on installing some mini cats in the next week or two and hope they clear up the check engine codes for cats.
Sounds good. Now is that just high flow cats with factory exhaust? Not sure if I missed that part. Just order borla atak for mine but was wondering to do the high flow cats as well but don’t want check engine light on or any funny smells from exhaust.
Correct stock factory catback, and unfortuantely without deciding to tune the car, you will end up with a check engine light with these because they are basically a cat delete so the smells and check engine light are there....

Lmr is here in Houston, and no they aren’t the only ones, peitz performance also I. Houston has a tuning solution more piggy back systems than native ecm tuning. Procharger and lingenfelter have native tuning for their standard boost kits but that’s like getting a canned tune can’t adjust it.

It feels quicker for sure never had it on a dump before or after so not sure how much it gained
Sounds great! I just installed the cat delete pipes from 2M Fabrication on my 23’ C8 and got the check engine light. I have the 2M mini cat O2 extenders on it now. I may try the original O2 extenders so see if that solves it.
Drive it aroudn a bit and maybe it will clear out. I installed the 2m Mini cats on my EOS cats and the check engine light is gone now! even after a bunch of launch controls and hard pulls
@@JLSpeed does it matter the angle at which you have them installed? My mini cats are pointed straight backwards towards the rear bumper.
@@MarleyMarl718 not sure I had one pointed up wards towards the engine and the other sideways towards the tb.
Do you think there will be any challenges with emission inspection? Or do they just read the OBD2, no sniff?
Here in texas they do not do sniff tester, just obd2 so no issues there.
Have you done an update with th mini cats installed and did thr cel come back on? love the sound your car makes and I'm wanting to do my c8 but don't want the cel issues.
Hey, I haven’t had a chance to get the mini cats installed. I sent in my mpvi2 hptuners device to get upgraded so I can’t monitor or data log right now but as soon as I get it back I’ll be doing the mini cat install and giving the update!
