    Terrific review! As usual. Thank you. I'd like to know if these lenses are able to take advantage of the Eye Autofocus feature of the A6500

      The MP50 seemed to do the best, IMO

      Orio Menoni this may not be of use to you any more but you CAN use the eye autofocus feature on every lens... But it's pretty useless on the 12mm given how much is in focus due to the focal length. Also, because the focus motor on the 12mm is not really the best haha

    Thank you for the review. I am planning to move from Full Frame to APS-C only, sell my FE 90 mm Macro and get the Touit 50 instead.

      That's a sound choice. The Sigma 56mm F1.4 DC DN is also worth a look.

    Thanks for this review. One question: how do you compare the Touit 12mm with the Samyang/Rokinon 12mm f2 which you reviewed 3 years back?

    • @DustinAbbottTWI
      @DustinAbbottTWI  6 років тому +1

      Pros and cons. The Rokinon is sharper, in my opinion, but has more chromatic aberrations, a blander sunburst, and has no autofocus, of course. There are pros and cons to each lens.

      Dustin Abbott, I’ve searched high and low for a head to head comparison but haven’t found one yet. I shoot model homes with the Rokinon rebrand of the Samyang 12mm and am pretty pleased with it. It does require a +5 distortion correction though so I lose area I sometimes can hardly afford to lose.
      I’m tempted to move to the Zeiss but from everything I’ve read, the only thing I’ll gain is a sleeker lens with autofocus and I don’t use autofocus when shooting interiors. Plus, you indicate I’ll lose sharpness Dustin lol. Oh, and it’ll cost me a few hundred in the process haha so it doesn’t seem like such a wise move.
      I have heard about issues with some of the Samyang’s having issues showing proper focus but not actually being focused and even fooling the focus peaking on Fuji’s. I don’t even know how’s that’s possible and haven’t experienced it though. I do prefer a lens that has a marked aperture ring but it’s not a deal killer.

      @@mattsweadner8318 going Full Frame is the answer.
      Just buy an a7ii (which is 999$ and even less used) which is close in price to the Touit, and continue shooting with the Rokinon in aps-c zoom until you can afford the 12-24 f4 ultrawide lens or other primes from Sigma or even adapting one of Canon's.
      Full frame gives you more options and better IQ overall.

    Thank you for your detailed review. Regarding the 32mm 1.8, were your focus misses primarily in AF-C mode? Also, were you using Wide, Zone, Center, or Flexible Spot AF? I wonder if better focus accuracy can be achieved in AF-S while avoiding the Wide AF mode.

    • @DustinAbbottTWI
      @DustinAbbottTWI  6 років тому

      I tried a variety of focus modes, as per usual.

    • @RobertJohnLora
      @RobertJohnLora 6 років тому +1

      For the Touit lenses, the best focus accuracy can be attained with AF-C and either the medium or large focus points, bar none. For less predictable subjects, Wide works very well too.
      Focus motor for the 12mm is better on AFS though, or just focusing manually.

      Dustin stated that in both part 1 and 2, he used a Sony a6500. There is no AF-C mode. It's an AF-C camera.

      Second hand can sometimes get a good deal on these Zeiss lenses for Fuji, makes for a nice variation if it's what you're looking for. Very happy with the 32mm
