This is cool and encouraging news! I like Hemsworth's work and he has box office draw to headline an ongoing action franchise. If they do the Joe's right this time, it could be a winning formula.

A crossover could work but I don’t trust Paramount anymore. I felt like they should’ve built up to this with two separate movies. Plus their previous attempts at GI movies have all been misses in my opinion.

I think it's a solid step forward on the right path to a good movie. Hemsworth, has shown good acting range, and would make a good Duke, or Hawk. You presenting this article has given me a slightly brighter outlook for this movie. Thanks Chad!

He may just be voicing Optimus which is the role he has in the animation.
Whereas I don’t discount that possibility, until I see otherwise I’m surmising Cullen will.
And depending on how much his voice is modulated for Prime, he’s got the range to do two roles.
Totally on board with Hemsworth in GI Joe but Chris Evans as Duke. Hemsworth as Rock & Roll or Shipwreck.

Chris Hemsworth is voicing Optimus Prime in Transformers One coming in September. Now he’s in talks to join the live-action Transformers X GI Joes crossover.
I don’t mind a Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover to be 3hrs long. Like a 3hrs run-time. Totally worth it. Hope Anthony Ramos, Doninique Fishback, Hailee Steinfield, Jorge Lendeborg, Jr, and John Cena comes back.
I also hope Pete Davidson comes back as Mirage, and I’m glad that he’s alive too.
I also hope that both Peter Cullen and Ron Perlman comes back to voice Optimus Prime 🛻 and Optimus Primal 🦍
If they ever decide to bring back Bumblebee’s real voice, I hope Dylan O’ Brien comes back again to voice him.
Think Chris Pratt would make a great role as Matt Trakker in the mid or post credits scene
I could get behind Cena coming back and definitely Pratt as Trakker in some sort of Easter egg or credits stinger.

@@Its.Chad. I can agree and if they can bring back the mojo of the first Transformers Movie this could be something. My gosh Chad I’ve been a Joe and Transformers fan since the very beginning. Heck I even inherited my brother’s 1960s original Joes when I was a kid before ARAH. Hasbro has been given the Golden Ticket and those in charge have continuously flubbed it up. Oh man Hemsworth in a Joe movie sign me up. His extraction films have been my favorite action movies of the last five years along with Boss Level with Frank Grillo in fact let's sign frank to this move also.
100% agreed!!! The Extraction films are great, but that’s also largely in part to the Russos as well as Hensworth’s Rake character and how he played him.
Regardless - it’s a hopeful sign to improve JOE on film.

A Colonel Hawk character would be very cool with Hemsworth. I would like something new, though.
A Major General Hawk/ Hemsworth character that comes in at an older age that is sort of the torch-passer to something with potential new future fun movie stuff.
(Not one of those return of the original G.I.Joe (Colton) type of things. That got worn out for me.)

I think he could do a good job. He was very good in Furiosa. And he can be funny as evidenced in Ragnarok. I'll definitely be following for more info and to see who he will be playing. I'd prefer him as Duke and have someone a little older play Hawk, just my opinion.

There's some great stars that could be great in a G.I. Joe movie. It's about getting the right director and writers. I love the Extraction movies. Get the writers and director from them.
As for typos and that, it's part of the 24 hour cycle issues. In order to break a story first they often speed through basic quality checks. Name any news site and I've seen lots of typos, especially in recent years. Thanks for the video and keeping us in the G.I. Joe news loop.

Considering their track record with the live action gijoe and transformers movies....Im not sure if Thor can even save the franchise....but hey, if Hollywood proves me wrong....cool.
Yeah. I’m not arguing that. I personally think the best I can hope for is another Bumblebee level film out of the likes of DiBonaventura and his hack cronies. But I’m gonna keep an eye on it regardless 🤙🏼

Here is the problem with this happening in a crossover movie. They already put the Transformers in the back ground of their own movies. So with a massive name as a lead, which he will be playing because you don't get names to play bit roles in something like this, the movie will be more like a GI Joe film with some Transformers sprinkled in. Now if they went the route that the new comics are going it would work out because you would have more then one film and could sprinkle the apperances over a greater area to better effect. imagine doing what Disney was doing with Marvel. 3 movies in a year film them all at the same time stagger the releases. do Transformers then Duke an then Cobra Commander. the Comics are telling you how to lay it out. That's not how Paramount will do it as the Producers attached to the property wont ever let the movies stick to the source material.

I will not be holding my breath on this one. Hemsworth is the voice of Prime in the cartoon, so will he be a voice of Prime in this one? The rise of Cobra pre production news sounded really good. Like how Storm Shadow was in the process of honing his skills even more than before, due to the mention that the last time him and Snake Eyes fought they fought for three days before one of them drew blood. Also look at the other names involved.
Yeah…can’t get away from DiBonaventura’s stinky shadow no matter. But Bumblebee was good…we’ll see.

I'm not thrilled for a GI Joe/Transformers crossover because Joe was not properly adapted to the big screen and failed to find an invested audience for the franchise. With that said, as it pertains to the toys for the upcoming movie, I'm betting the farm that, for mass retail, Hasbro will make the line in a Star Wars Mission Fleet scale. Their main target will be kids. A 3 3/4 line that could fit inside Autobots and Decepticons would be too expensive. Imagine how large Optimus Prime would have to be in order for two Joes to fit inside his cab. And a 6 inch line of Joes makes no sense because the Transformers would be Haslab prices. If they do make a collectors 3 3/4 line it would be limited to just a couple of sets because doing the entire cast of characters would even be too expensive for collectors. So yea, the toys will more likely be 2 inch Joes with, of course, scaled down Transformers that will accommodate at least one figure. What do you think?

Hemsworth would kill it playing Duke, these movies will need some star power to get them “normies” interested. And hopefully they will be better than the TF Bayverse movies, especially the last 2 which were horrendous. Bumblee bee was awesome and RotB was ok.
Agreed and agreed!! Bumblebee worked because it was a strip down story and it was a period piece. But I definitely agree that Hemsworth would be fantastic as a G.I. Joe character.

Yeah there’s that possibility, too, but Cullen has always been the voice in live action and until someone says otherwise, that’s just what I’m going with.
That being said, depending on the amount of effects they put on the Optimus voice, he could probably pull both of them off.
I was thinking about this Transformers/G.I.Joe crossover movie. I am wondering who out there might have read the entire Marvel Transformers G2 12 issue comic series out there, with the G.I.Joe issues that featured the G2 comic series launching parts?

I have read all those original crossover comics many times. I’d be good if that was the basis of a crossover mi ie or trilogy of movies. Or even the new Dark Energon alternate timeline set of stories.
I just hope getting Hemsworth is just one of many needed steps in the right direction (this time!)

Yeah, it’s either AI or they just don’t have those copy editors whatsoever. I’m not entirely excited about a shared universe between these two IPs because they can’t seem to get each one of them really dialed in by itself. But we’re gonna see what happens.
