I’ll keep this short as I already left a long-winded comment on your IG post on this matter. Between the Nam cancellation, Skeletron most likely not delivering the 6in figures/rest of campaign until 2025, me being burned on a few figures from the Invincible Toy FCS campaign that will now never seemingly get fulfilled, my 3D Joes blu-rays from the Hardcover Omnibus STILL not being delivered, etc etc, I am officially DONE with any toy related or adjacent Kickstarters. Period. Any toy company that wants my money will have to offer a standard preorder and/or just put the stock on their site to sell, just like Vala does it. I’m over it.
@@Its.Chad. It means that if you are careful, you won't run into many failed Kickstarter campaigns. Reading from these comments, you'd think it was the Wild West. It's not that bad. The epic failure campaigns, you can usually tell them. Overpromising, tons of stretch goals; these are just a few red flags you can look for. Also, wishful thinking is NOT a good strategy for choosing which to back.
Glad you touched on how these figures were going to be important on many different levels. I wonder how bad paying everyone back hurt the company. It would have been a dumpster fire the likes no one has ever seen if they didn’t. But one more reason I never back any of this crowd funding bs.

FMF 's Monster Force had my interest but wait two years for a preorder and show figures of three waves but no figures. I lost interest. It's hard with my ADHA. The best way to get my money is have find your product on the store shelf.
Looks as if Marauders updated the gift card percentages for those of us who backed at higher levels to 175% or 200% of the pledge value and 125% value for any backerkit add-ons. Still not happy that we did not have the option to just wait it out, but now the kick to the sack now feels more like a grazing.

Completely agree. My patience is very thin with the Roboskull/Skeletron figs I'm still waiting on. The lack of delivered product from that campaign has kept me from preordering anything Monster Force related. Not playing the wait 3+ years game again. Have something in stock and I might buy, but I'm not pre-funding your unproduced action figure lines anymore.
I was waiting for those figures backed them and never got the email. And That's exactly why they should stop Kickstart projects. If you have faith in your product just make it and let people enjoy or dislike it and go from there. But when you have to get other people to invest in your product it's almost like you ain't got the faith in the product you want to make. Or the money to actually make it yourself. Like hasbro with the rattler. Who honestly has 325 dollars for a toy airplane? Don't get me wrong it was cool. But realisticly it's not gonna fly around the room! Collector price is one thing highway robbery is another. Sorry everyone. Wish these companies were more faithful to us collectors.
100% agreed. MGR should have stopped Kickstarting years ago. They’re more than established enough to out money back into the company. And this project was just bad since they went from four figures to 37 with NO molds in place.
@@Its.Chad.I really appreciate you highlighting this with your video. I’ve been a big fan of MGR and have backed 3 of their previous Kickstarters, so I initially had full faith in this one too. Then months and years went by, with their updates being so minuscule, my spider sense was tingling. So much so that I left a fairly long comment in the discussion on their Kickstarter page. I kept my comments civil and slightly optimistic, but had to pronounce my skepticism. Then 3 weeks later, they are throwing in the towel. Like you said, I am truly happy that they are refunding my $400+ (initial pledge and Backerkit add-ons), but I don’t understand why the failure because it wasn’t their first rodeo. ? Last thing, again I am thankful for the refund, because the only other time a Kickstarters project failed me was - Paladium Books and their Robotech minis kickstarter. They didn’t deliver even half of what they promised then took the money and ran. I’m now officially done with Kickstarters. With so many competitors competing for our $, and this hobby getting more expensive- I’m not paying for anything else until the moment it ships to me. Thanks again.

This was the first kickstarter I backed. Never doing it again.
I didn’t back this, when I heard about it I had an idea for a gift for a friend and client of mine that served in Nam. It feels like they used their reputation to establish the line, then decided they could make more off of it later on. I know delays happen but this feels like an abuse of trust. I've bought a few things from them but I'll have to do some serious thinking to do about doing business with them.
Really bummed by this news about the company. I'm a real big MGR fan and spend about $60 an order every other month. One of the things I caution people about in my KS breakdown vids is that these campaigns take 2+ years before you get a product and a lot can happen in that time (Dime Novel Legends anyone?). MGR have always struck me as smart cats who had it figured out and knew what they were doing, so... I'm giving them the benefit of doubt, that this is a one step back move in order to avoid a bigger mistake in the future. I haven't looked at the details of the delay/cancellation but I'm guessing they did too many skus and couldn't stick the landing. we'll see how the future plays out but I'm hoping this was an evasive move to avoid hitting a mountain.
I was going to back this when it first was announced and now I’m so glad I didn’t. I was looking at their website off and on, hoping that there would either be some kind of announcement or see the figures listed for sale, after all the backers received their orders. I don’t blame you or any of the other backers for being pissed off. It’s going to be super shady, if they now offer all the same figures in their store, but at a higher price! That would tell me, that they used all the backer’s money to finance other projects and then couldn’t afford to pay for the items ( from the company that they originally had producing them )that the money was supposed to be used for. This whole situation seems really weird and shady. MGR is definitely going to see a decline in sales because of this.
I had bought a lot of stuff from Marauder Gun Runners and was half-way through customising a number of figures, when one day they decided they would no longer sell to the UK and EU. Now I'm left with these incomplete figures. Marauder Gun Runners suck.
I honestly haven't bought but like 3 full figures in the last 2 years. The Snake Pliskin, Jack Burton, and the Charlie Brown geared up figures. This is just 1 reason why I can't do kickstarters and crowd funding. I wouldn't have done the dragonfly from hasbro if that wasn't the first GI JOE vehicle I ever owned as a kid. So there is a lot of sentimentality to the dragonfly and wild bill. After reading about the story with the pre-classified 1:12 army figure kickstarter and people getting scammed I couldn't do it. Not with Vala, not Skeletron, not Eagle Force...sorry...put the product out and I will buy it. But this? I would have bought the figures when they released on their site...now? I think I am done. At least for a long time. Look at the 1:12 brutal realm or whatever now that BBTS is co sponsoring kickstarter. And guaranteeing it next year...but look at it? It's gonna get hit with copyright strikes...there is a total Conan, Lion-O, He-man, Skeletor, etc rip offs. After Hasbro smacked fans hobby with their air eagle (Sky hawk), you think Mattel and whoever owns Conan now won't be coming at them?

@Its.Chad. that's a good question. With as much as their parts and pieces sell out online and conventions they shouldn't need to KS projects anymore. That's 1 area I respected Bobby for only doing initial first wave then everything else on his own. I bought some of the first 3 waves. Wasn't for me though. Sold off most and will try to sell or trade the rest for 25th to 50th joe vehicles I do want. Or older joe vehicles that fit modern line. I even respected his decision when his costs went down he cut prices. I don't see any other company doing that. Even Mgr. It's just a case of biting off more than can chew. Eyes bigger than stomach. Aren't Mgr also partnering with skeletron and fresh monkey to do these other lines? They should have focused strictly on their own campaign and let everyone else do them.

Kickstarter should not be the way these companies conduct business. It’s lazy and places the risk and burden on the consumer while the producer gets to “figure it out”. Take risks, put out an awesome product, go to market, the way it’s been done for decades.
Whats strange is they did a kick starter canceled it after years but say their going to make them anyway. Seems like they were using everyone's money as an advance to pay off something else. Seems strange idk

I feel like it's been at least three years since I backed Callsign Longbow and supposedly they're about to fulfill ONE FIGURE....one figure...of the host I paid for. Eventually apparently the rest will come but I think I've backed my last Longbow effort.

Oh trust me I'm almost at the point of turning on a camera and going off on my own rant about operation monster Force. Those figures we're supposed to be out October of 2023. Every two three months they kept saying oh we're pushing it back they have to be pushed back there's problems there's this there's that. Then they sent out a mass email August, you will have your figures in August. August is almost over and they send out a new email. Now it's October beginning of October that's when you'll have your figures. So that's 2 years since this line was announced a one-year Delay from the time they said the figures should have shipped. So this leaves me wondering how long are people going to have to wait till series 2. A series that they put up for pre-order before series 1 even shipped. And that's the thing I like this line, I think that one doctor figure who has a head that's a brain in a jar is a really cool looking character design. But I'm not going to pre-order him if I'm not going to get him until 2026

I think some of you are misconstruing the failed kickstarter of Marauder versus say Fresh Monkey Fiction’s Eagle Force and Operation Monster Force. Yes, the waits have been incredible, but has anyone had to pay for the FMF products ahead of time, before they’re shipped? The preorder on BBTS is a placeholder for those who want the product, and it allows FMF to know approximately how many it needs to fulfill.
@@gmwforce1972 it's not a matter of whether or not they're holding my money. It's the fact that while I am a reasonable person, and I know delays happen. It's more so a matter of them going a full year Past the scheduled release date. And this isn't a new thing from them, but it seems more and more often as their products are getting delayed and pushed back further and further. There's some kind of breakdown happening in the supply chain, and it's concerning and should be addressed. Because are we going to get Series 2 of operation monster Force next year, or will that be delayed until 2026, or even 2027. I'm not knocking the products themselves they are of nice quality. I have bought in several Naughty or Nice figures from them I have heard good things about Eagle force and the review samples coming out on operation monster Force have been glowingly positive from a lot of different reviewers here on UA-cam. My thing is there is something going wrong behind the scenes and I feel like it needs to be addressed
@@Rebelxstudios True. I agree. But I believe Chad’s main point on this particular video was about the Kickstarter platform and particularly MGR taking the money, and after 3 years not delivering. My point was simply- at least FMF hasn’t taken any of our money upfront (that I’m aware of). But yes, again we’re having to wait too long and there must be some mishandling somewhere. I’m inclined to believe it’s in the foreign manufacturing market (yes Vala seems to be the exception) but I’m not a toy producer; so like the rest of us, will just have to be infinitely patient or find a new hobby I suppose. Truth be told, I find plenty of other things to spend my money on the meantime.
As a backer of the particular campaign, I am getting my money back and would never back another Kickstarter of theirs. Buy something already made sure but never another Kickstarter.
This is disappointing as Marauder has been a staple for 1:18 customizing and world building with their accessories nearly 2 decades. I am very surprised that Marauder John has let this happen? As for the Roboskull 6-inch figures, it is going on 2.5 years and I have only seen mockups of a couple of characters at JoeFest?

They bit off way more than they could chew and it bit them in the ass badly. Which then held up other company’s projects at the same factory. Skeletron - they have similar things going on but it’s retooling endlessly with them. And yes, their 6” stuff are still in test shot phase now so that’s gonna be a wait.

I'm kind of indifferent, but still pissed off. I was really looking forward to these as Nam does not get enough action figure love. Although there's been a mini boom in 1/6 Nam figures recently. You do know that Saudi Arabia didn't renew the Petrodollar. Plastic comes from oil. The US dollar is no longer backed by this resource. The money paid for plastic "dolls" no longer carries the same value as it use to. Marauder Gun Runners either needs to lower the quality of the plastic used, or ask its customers to cover the new cost.
More reason to ditch 1:12 scale if anyone asks me. That’s why JOE got away from 1:6. No matter what happened other than a Godzilla attack, they should’ve been way smarter with this entire project start to abandonment. If oil prices and all that - then don’t keep adding stretch goal figures. Just do your job.
The industry is in a shambles right now. There are way too many options, and we are seeing companies leveraging crowd funding that should not be. i.e. Hasbro, McFarlane, Mattel More and more I find myself shifting to the independent companies, and following what they are doing with excitement. My only problem with lines like Action Force and Delta-17, as awesome as they are, is they just don't tug on the heart strings.
this shit is why I stopped backing kickstarters. They can fail and unfortunately the way they are setup these days they fail spectacularly by getting people to sink large sums of money. I know there's risk and kickstarters have no garntees of success but they are setup these days to get people to sink what would be massive amounts of money to most of the backers. I'm just done with it. Caues they don't end up with you out a hundred dollars or something but to be out hundreds or thousands usually. I guess people get something back on this failure but people wanted the toys. And if you cant produce something from a successful Kickstarter whos going to buy anything from them again? I certainly wouldn't do a Kickstarter,

Pre-orders that take your money up front and make you wait 6 months to a year are bad enough. Thankfully Bobby Vala makes it easier when you get his products and they exceed expectations.
I feel bad for the people who really wanted these figures. But hopefully everyone gets their money back. This Kickstarter stuff (to me at least) is like going to casino. No guarantees when you sit down at the table. Win or bust nobody knows. The airwolf, the star wars 13, the varying quality and unlocks in haslabs and even that McFarland spawn....no thanks. So Chad, using pics from the campaign, why not make your own?
Completely understandable. I usually make customs of figures I can't afford...but for you I think if you did make your own it would be that little extra FU to these guys for screwing it up. But that's how my 52 year old brain works...lol
That last point you made, 100%. These indy companies are making it hard to support the indy toy scene with shit like this. Didn't back the MGR project, but I feel the aggrevation. Still waiting on that Skelletron Roboskull. October is the drop date according to the last update from the end of July and My patience with that is getting super thin with this one.

This news hurts, I was really looking forward to the new bodies, tooling like the thigh swivels and new old weapons. Like you, I wanted to redo a few figures I did using the old mtf bodies. What a kick in the nuts. I still love marauders and mj is a great dude but this hurts
This is absurd Chad. The damage this causes to the toy industry is strictly exclusive to the consumer's faith in the integrity of the business. The restitution would be a full refund to those that backed this (are you listening Kickstarter?). Obviously this is financial suicide for Marauders (and possibly Skeletron) but it is the only action that could restore the lost faith. Justice could only be served if the complete $500,000 of investments refunded to backers cripples Marauder and gives a wake up sign to anyone else thinking of committing what Marauder has done.

Well spoken. UA-cam is a soapbox and you’re on it. If you or anyone else is this passionate about them not producing and it’s not about the money maybe refuse a credit, take the refund and consider donating to a charity or veteran program. Turn that negative to a positive. For me it’s disappointing but there’s so many pieces in the background we don’t see as consumers. It’s likely they didn’t meet the numbers needed or one of the things you mentioned like tooling or constant delays. It’s definitely annoying but I like what they’ve offered so far and have a few pieces. I’ll let the dust settle and see what they do going forward.

I don’t do kickstarter at all, I am a consumer of product not an investor in a company. If you have a business proposition then sell me stock in the company, if you want me to buy your product then have a product for me to buy. I get it, I understand it and why it’s needed for small companies, it’s just not for me as a consumer of tiny plastic people. Take my money and send me my dollie, that is the only business relationship we have. I did back the dragonfly but it’s the only haslab I have ever bought. I waited till the very last day to back it so I knew exactly what I was paying for and it was a nostalgia purchase (dragonfly was my first go joe vehicle as a child). Now I am sitting here hoping my old ass doesn’t die in my recliner before my 3ft long helicopter shows up. To be fair I got no place to put it and the kids are going to kill me when it shows up so the delay is only partly a bad thing 😂

They are giving refunds, which is good, but if they did some work on it, and they are returning the money, that's a HUGE hit for 3 years of work and expenses that go unpaid!

Now they gotta give it all back (which is the right thing to do), but the company is gonna have to eat that money spent. This really f…ing sucks. I liked there company. I got some 1/12 scale weapons from them the same time I got my first series 1 AF figures and I liked them. I got my first figure from them last year at JoeFest when I met you in person the first time. I love that figure. I planned on getting some more when the time was right. It sucks they’ve been living the high life on customers kickstarter money instead of making toys. When you had the skeletron guy on your channel last year I felt like he was shady as fuck. Maybe it’s the weed but you can’t bull shit a shitter and all I heard was bullshit out of him. I felt like he should’ve already had toys to customers by that point. All he’s been doing is stringing customers along one figure at a time. Every six months to a year on one piece of product while he’s flying around on customers money. Coming out of the covid debacle Bobby is the only new start up company that paved the way to start a successful toy business. People see what he’s done. Then they pull on our heart strings trying to recreate nostalgia toys from our childhood that we want and then take everyone’s money and run. I wanted to get a skeletron or whatever it’s called but I wasn’t getting one until it was available to be purchased. Not sure if I even want one at this point. I’m just going to stick with Action Force and Hot Wheels because that’s what makes me happy. I know this sucks but car rants rule. Thanks for sharing and have a good day sir.

I don't know everything there is to know about the kickstarter model, but from what I do know, i never liked it. I prefer to know that my dollars are going to something you offered, advertised, and made good on, preferably from a store shelf. Heck, I hardly back pre-orders. For the life of me, I can't understand why a well-established, well-funded company like say, Hasbro or even a smaller successful company would resort to this type of model to sell toys. If you're a toy company, that's more than paid the bills making toys up to this point, then make toys and sell them, period. Please, for the love of our almighty heavenly Father, STOP taking willing people's 💵 in advance before you even know that you know that you know for sure you can deliver. I hope you do that video on the KS model because I'll be there to watch, learn and enjoy. I hear ya, it ain't really just about toys, but like you said, Chad it's about grown adults backing a company they feel good about, their money, their hopes, etc. If I'm already running a good successful toy company, I'm leaving well enough alone and doing my best to offer new products on my dime. I missed the opportunity to back the robo skull, not that I would have anyway but I was waiting and watching for it to go up on sale. They have some figures that I was interested in on the 6in side but I was waiting to see how they come out before I army build some. With this current news of MGR can't finish their own home work I am not sure they will be able to finish someone else's. My interest is waning fast for the robo skull.
@@SteelDog91 that Roboskull MkII has had numerous tooling issues. I’m waiting to see if they implode too or if they pull it off. Because their campaign was the vehicle - the figures were add-ons. If the vehicle can’t show up, their figures can f**k right off.

Between the Nam cancellation, Skeletron most likely not delivering the 6in figures/rest of campaign until 2025, me being burned on a few figures from the Invincible Toy FCS campaign that will now never seemingly get fulfilled, my 3D Joes blu-rays from the Hardcover Omnibus STILL not being delivered, etc etc, I am officially DONE with any toy related or adjacent Kickstarters. Period.
Any toy company that wants my money will have to offer a standard preorder and/or just put the stock on their site to sell, just like Vala does it. I’m over it.

The epic failure campaigns, you can usually tell them. Overpromising, tons of stretch goals; these are just a few red flags you can look for. Also, wishful thinking is NOT a good strategy for choosing which to back.

FMF 's Monster Force had my interest but wait two years for a preorder and show figures of three waves but no figures. I lost interest. It's hard with my ADHA. The best way to get my money is have find your product on the store shelf.

Looks as if Marauders updated the gift card percentages for those of us who backed at higher levels to 175% or 200% of the pledge value and 125% value for any backerkit add-ons. Still not happy that we did not have the option to just wait it out, but now the kick to the sack now feels more like a grazing.

Completely agree. My patience is very thin with the Roboskull/Skeletron figs I'm still waiting on. The lack of delivered product from that campaign has kept me from preordering anything Monster Force related. Not playing the wait 3+ years game again. Have something in stock and I might buy, but I'm not pre-funding your unproduced action figure lines anymore.

I was waiting for those figures backed them and never got the email. And That's exactly why they should stop Kickstart projects. If you have faith in your product just make it and let people enjoy or dislike it and go from there. 100% agreed. MGR should have stopped Kickstarting years ago. They’re more than established enough to out money back into the company. And this project was just bad since they went from four figures to 37 with NO molds in place.
@@Its.Chad.I really appreciate you highlighting this with your video. I’ve been a big fan of MGR and have backed 3 of their previous Kickstarters, so I initially had full faith in this one too. Then months and years went by, with their updates being so minuscule, my spider sense was tingling. So much so that I left a fairly long comment in the discussion on their Kickstarter page. I kept my comments civil and slightly optimistic, but had to pronounce my skepticism. Then 3 weeks later, they are throwing in the towel. Like you said, I am truly happy that they are refunding my $400+ (initial pledge and Backerkit add-ons), but I don’t understand why the failure because it wasn’t their first rodeo. ?
Last thing, again I am thankful for the refund, because the only other time a Kickstarters project failed me was - Paladium Books and their Robotech minis kickstarter. They didn’t deliver even half of what they promised then took the money and ran.
I’m now officially done with Kickstarters. With so many competitors competing for our $, and this hobby getting more expensive- I’m not paying for anything else until the moment it ships to me. Thanks again.
This was the first kickstarter I backed. Never doing it again.
I didn’t back this, when I heard about it I had an idea for a gift for a friend and client of mine that served in Nam. It feels like they used their reputation to establish the line, then decided they could make more off of it later on. I know delays happen but this feels like an abuse of trust. I've bought a few things from them but I'll have to do some serious thinking to do about doing business with them.
Well I backed it. Big time. And I’m with you about reconsidering giving them money moving forward.
Really bummed by this news about the company. I'm a real big MGR fan and spend about $60 an order every other month. One of the things I caution people about in my KS breakdown vids is that these campaigns take 2+ years before you get a product and a lot can happen in that time (Dime Novel Legends anyone?). MGR have always struck me as smart cats who had it figured out and knew what they were doing, so... I'm giving them the benefit of doubt, that this is a one step back move in order to avoid a bigger mistake in the future. I haven't looked at the details of the delay/cancellation but I'm guessing they did too many skus and couldn't stick the landing. we'll see how the future plays out but I'm hoping this was an evasive move to avoid hitting a mountain.

I was going to back this when it first was announced and now I’m so glad I didn’t. I was looking at their website off and on, hoping that there would either be some kind of announcement or see the figures listed for sale, after all the backers received their orders. I don’t blame you or any of the other backers for being pissed off. It’s going to be super shady, if they now offer all the same figures in their store, but at a higher price! That would tell me, that they used all the backer’s money to finance other projects and then couldn’t afford to pay for the items ( from the company that they originally had producing them )that the money was supposed to be used for. This whole situation seems really weird and shady. MGR is definitely going to see a decline in sales because of this.

I had bought a lot of stuff from Marauder Gun Runners and was half-way through customising a number of figures, when one day they decided they would no longer sell to the UK and EU. Now I'm left with these incomplete figures. Marauder Gun Runners suck.

I honestly haven't bought but like 3 full figures in the last 2 years. The Snake Pliskin, Jack Burton, and the Charlie Brown geared up figures. This is just 1 reason why I can't do kickstarters and crowd funding. I wouldn't have done the dragonfly from hasbro if that wasn't the first GI JOE vehicle I ever owned as a kid. So there is a lot of sentimentality to the dragonfly and wild bill. After reading about the story with the pre-classified 1:12 army figure kickstarter and people getting scammed I couldn't do it. Not with Vala, not Skeletron, not Eagle Force...sorry...put the product out and I will buy it. But this? I would have bought the figures when they released on their site...now? I think I am done. At least for a long time. Look at the 1:12 brutal realm or whatever now that BBTS is co sponsoring kickstarter. And guaranteeing it next year...but look at it? It's gonna get hit with copyright strikes...there is a total Conan, Lion-O, He-man, Skeletor, etc rip offs. After Hasbro smacked fans hobby with their air eagle (Sky hawk), you think Mattel and whoever owns Conan now won't be coming at them?

That's 1 area I respected Bobby for only doing initial first wave then everything else on his own. I bought some of the first 3 waves. Wasn't for me though. Sold off most and will try to sell or trade the rest for 25th to 50th joe vehicles I do want. Or older joe vehicles that fit modern line. I even respected his decision when his costs went down he cut prices. I don't see any other company doing that. Even Mgr. It's just a case of biting off more than can chew. Eyes bigger than stomach. Aren't Mgr also partnering with skeletron and fresh monkey to do these other lines? They should have focused strictly on their own campaign and let everyone else do them.

Oh trust me I'm almost at the point of turning on a camera and going off on my own rant about operation monster Force. Those figures we're supposed to be out October of 2023. Every two three months they kept saying oh we're pushing it back they have to be pushed back there's problems there's this there's that. Then they sent out a mass email August, you will have your figures in August. August is almost over and they send out a new email. Now it's October beginning of October that's when you'll have your figures. So that's 2 years since this line was announced a one-year Delay from the time they said the figures should have shipped. So this leaves me wondering how long are people going to have to wait till series 2. A series that they put up for pre-order before series 1 even shipped. And that's the thing I like this line, I think that one doctor figure who has a head that's a brain in a jar is a really cool looking character design. But I'm not going to pre-order him if I'm not going to get him until 2026

I think some of you are misconstruing the failed kickstarter of Marauder versus say Fresh Monkey Fiction’s Eagle Force and Operation Monster Force. Yes, the waits have been incredible, but has anyone had to pay for the FMF products ahead of time, before they’re shipped? The preorder on BBTS is a placeholder for those who want the product, and it allows FMF to know approximately how many it needs to fulfill.

It's more so a matter of them going a full year Past the scheduled release date. And this isn't a new thing from them, but it seems more and more often as their products are getting delayed and pushed back further and further. There's some kind of breakdown happening in the supply chain, and it's concerning and should be addressed. Because are we going to get Series 2 of operation monster Force next year, or will that be delayed until 2026, or even 2027. I'm not knocking the products themselves they are of nice quality. I have bought in several Naughty or Nice figures from them I have heard good things about Eagle force and the review samples coming out on operation monster Force have been glowingly positive from a lot of different reviewers here on UA-cam. My thing is there is something going wrong behind the scenes and I feel like it needs to be addressed
@@Rebelxstudios True. I agree. But I believe Chad’s main point on this particular video was about the Kickstarter platform and particularly MGR taking the money, and after 3 years not delivering. My point was simply- at least FMF hasn’t taken any of our money upfront (that I’m aware of). But yes, again we’re having to wait too long and there must be some mishandling somewhere. I’m inclined to believe it’s in the foreign manufacturing market (yes Vala seems to be the exception) but I’m not a toy producer; so like the rest of us, will just have to be infinitely patient or find a new hobby I suppose. Truth be told, I find plenty of other things to spend my money on the meantime.

You do know that Saudi Arabia didn't renew the Petrodollar. Plastic comes from oil. The US dollar is no longer backed by this resource. The money paid for plastic "dolls" no longer carries the same value as it use to. Marauder Gun Runners either needs to lower the quality of the plastic used, or ask its customers to cover the new cost.
More reason to ditch 1:12 scale if anyone asks me. That’s why JOE got away from 1:6.

The industry is in a shambles right now. There are way too many options, and we are seeing companies leveraging crowd funding that should not be. i.e. Hasbro, McFarlane, Mattel More and more I find myself shifting to the independent companies, and following what they are doing with excitement. My only problem with lines like Action Force and Delta-17, as awesome as they are, is they just don't tug on the heart strings.

this shit is why I stopped backing kickstarters. They can fail and unfortunately the way they are setup these days they fail spectacularly by getting people to sink large sums of money. I know there's risk and kickstarters have no garntees of success but they are setup these days to get people to sink what would be massive amounts of money to most of the backers. I'm just done with it. Caues they don't end up with you out a hundred dollars or something but to be out hundreds or thousands usually. Pre-orders that take your money up front and make you wait 6 months to a year are bad enough. Thankfully Bobby Vala makes it easier when you get his products and they exceed expectations.
I feel bad for the people who really wanted these figures. But hopefully everyone gets their money back. This Kickstarter stuff (to me at least) is like going to casino. This is absurd Chad. The damage this causes to the toy industry is strictly exclusive to the consumer's faith in the integrity of the business. The restitution would be a full refund to those that backed this (are you listening Kickstarter?). Obviously this is financial suicide for Marauders (and possibly Skeletron) but it is the only action that could restore the lost faith. Justice could only be served if the complete $500,000 of investments refunded to backers cripples Marauder and gives a wake up sign to anyone else thinking of committing what Marauder has done.

For me it’s disappointing but there’s so many pieces in the background we don’t see as consumers. It’s likely they didn’t meet the numbers needed or one of the things you mentioned like tooling or constant delays. It’s definitely annoying but I like what they’ve offered so far and have a few pieces. I’ll let the dust settle and see what they do going forward.

If you have a business proposition then sell me stock in the company, if you want me to buy your product then have a product for me to buy. I waited till the very last day to back it so I knew exactly what I was paying for and it was a nostalgia purchase (dragonfly was my first go joe vehicle as a child). Now I am sitting here hoping my old ass doesn’t die in my recliner before my 3ft long helicopter shows up. To be fair I got no place to put it and the kids are going to kill me when it shows up so the delay is only partly a bad thing 😂

Kids still haven’t got over the toy gigante hiss tank I bought off eBay last year 🤣 apparently I am the reason they can’t have nice things now.
They are giving refunds, which is good, but if they did some work on it, and they are returning the money, that's a HUGE hit for 3 years of work and expenses that go unpaid!
Even just the act of issuing the refunds themselves, it's time and money spent that goes unpaid...

But I’m gonna be hard pressed to turn around later and re-purchase these figures - especially if the prices per figure are higher.

This really f…ing sucks. I liked there company. I got some 1/12 scale weapons from them the same time I got my first series 1 AF figures and I liked them. I got my first figure from them last year at JoeFest when I met you in person the first time. I love that figure. I planned on getting some more when the time was right. It sucks they’ve been living the high life on customers kickstarter money instead of making toys. When you had the skeletron guy on your channel last year I felt like he was shady as fuck. Maybe it’s the weed but you can’t bull shit a shitter and all I heard was bullshit out of him. I felt like he should’ve already had toys to customers by that point. All he’s been doing is stringing customers along one figure at a time. Every six months to a year on one piece of product while he’s flying around on customers money. Coming out of the covid debacle Bobby is the only new start up company that paved the way to start a successful toy business. People see what he’s done. Then they pull on our heart strings trying to recreate nostalgia toys from our childhood that we want and then take everyone’s money and run. I wanted to get a skeletron or whatever it’s called but I wasn’t getting one until it was available to be purchased. Not sure if I even want one at this point. I’m just going to stick with Action Force and Hot Wheels because that’s what makes me happy. I know this sucks but car rants rule. Thanks for sharing and have a good day sir.

I don't know everything there is to know about the kickstarter model, but from what I do know, i never liked it. I prefer to know that my dollars are going to something you offered, advertised, and made good on, preferably from a store shelf. Heck, I hardly back pre-orders.
For the life of me, I can't understand why a well-established, well-funded company like say, Hasbro or even a smaller successful company would resort to this type of model to sell toys. If you're a toy company, that's more than paid the bills making toys up to this point, then make toys and sell them, period. Please, for the love of our almighty heavenly Father, STOP taking willing people's 💵 in advance before you even know that you know that you know for sure you can deliver. I hope you do that video on the KS model because I'll be there to watch, learn and enjoy.
I hear ya, it ain't really just about toys, but like you said, Chad it's about grown adults backing a company they feel good about, their money, their hopes, etc. If I'm already running a good successful toy company, I'm leaving well enough alone and doing my best to offer new products on my dime. Oh, and by the way, my Father-in-law was a Vietnam Vet, Army and my Wife enlisted in the Army during Desert Storm so i completely feel ya on the significance of your expectations.

I missed the opportunity to back the robo skull, not that I would have anyway but I was waiting and watching for it to go up on sale. They have some figures that I was interested in on the 6in side but I was waiting to see how they come out before I army build some. With this current news of MGR can't finish their own home work I am not sure they will be able to finish someone else's. My interest is waning fast for the robo skull.
@@SteelDog91 that Roboskull MkII has had numerous tooling issues. I’m waiting to see if they implode too or if they pull it off. Because their campaign was the vehicle - the figures were add-ons. If the vehicle can’t show up, their figures can f**k right off.
