I am certainly going to do this method. I'm not very good with the regular iron as I always burn myself. This way seems better for me to do. Thank you for sharing this.
Interesting thought. I’d prefer using a normal iron, and put the alu piece between two baking sheets to protect the iron. I think this way is easier to apply pressure to unwind the alu. I’d also make sure to provide ventilation / open window just in case the paint on the can emits some fumes.
been tryna flatten cans to make patches n scrapbook stuff but ironing them is GENIUS 🙏🙏
Thanks for watching. Happy Upcycling 😊

Ooh I wonder if it would work if you put it through a laminator!
I tried a laminater but no success, just warms things up
Maybe do a second pass with the straightener parallel to the long edge, one edge and then the other, to flatten it more evenly?
I don't have a laminater but I am guessing it doesn't get hot enough. 🙂
@@UpcycleDesignLab I think it's hot enough but it doesn't stay with the heat on it long enough like the iron does
hmm wouldnt this work with a laminator?
I don't have a laminator so I don't know. But you could give it a try. 🙂
