$6 for 10M of silicon. It works really well. We use it doubled and we just stretch it 2x. Latex wasn't listed as an option. We don't have any real glider buffs so we used what we found. Thanks for the suggestion.
Wayne, you are a clever guy! Great job! Now... about the Pug-- I WAS ignoring it until you pointed it out, and then missed the rest of the video. :[ Had to watch it again AFTER learning to ignore the Pug... but it's all good.
We discovered that the trigger would sometimes pull the pipe with the pin off the ground and not release the bungee. A stake in the arm will fix this problem. We also solved the problem by putting a weight on the pipe near the end of the trigger board.
I am just about finished building my launcher to your specs with a few mods. Having trouble finding the silicon tubing, esp for anywhere near that price, can you tell me where to get it? Thanks.
Sorry, I really don't have any idea and I have not measured it. I have launched a Multiplex Twister, FunJet Ultras, and an Easy Star. You can put whatever you need I guess. I take about 15 step on the bungee I use and it works well. If you needed less, you could stretch it less or stretch more if needed.
@stevecraignet Most of the stuff on the launcher I learned on RC Groups threads. I just pulled all the pieces of information together and then built one. The pug is Dancin' Sam Slade. We call him Sammy. He is going on 14 now. He is my wife's dog but he has attached himself to me the last couple of years. Sorry you had to watch it twice. ;)
Very clever Wayne. Sorry....gotta steal your idea! hehe Launching a FPV Chimera flying wing. Thanks!
How come you didn't use latex tubing? It's cheaper and a better elastic. Good idea with the second ring.

@873Mike I ordered it from HobbyKing. Product=10329 or Product=10609
Any Hi-start tubing source should work.
Good luck.
When you have it stretched out how much tension is on the bungie in lbs or kilograms?
why didnt you launch it
