First game has been my experience with SAP lately; the community is getting too optimal.
Yeah, the game isn't robust enough to have a good meta, so once people optimize, it becomes less fun.
Yeah today I finally gave up. I’m demoting myself from player/viewer to just viewer 😭. Game autochoosing perfect teams against me is just too strong…

The meta is fine. Just reorder your teams. People are used to strongest unit in the front.
@@FrostyFyre I’m in the same place, frankly. Just not enough variance for things to stay fun. I think the biggest limiter is the thing NL points out about people resetting. I’m having a hard time getting to round 3 without at least one loss, and I’m not running bad teams … it’s wack.

Not very useful information egglord, but I got a level 3 skunk last night. Reducing a 50/50 to a 50/1 really does makes your gourd overfloweth with pog
Butterflies also copy the stats of _healthiest_ friends, so it can make them target something that isn't their 50/50 carry. (They're changing this to copy from the friend with most combined attack and health though)
@@miguel7888 I thought they were changing it to copy the friend with the highest attack out of the ones with highest health. There were a lot of cases of them copying a 30/50 instead of a 50/50 because thats the one the algorithm has seen first
try running that with tiger and your gourd wouldn't be able to handle those levels of pogicity.

There is a youtuber who does the duck strategy and his win rate is insane. I am pretty sure this is what has screwed with the game meta.
Roll shop vigorously to get 5 ducks, if you lose a couple rounds that's fine. Combine ducks to get a lvl 2 duck and a tier 3 unit in shop. Roll through the shop and freeze a few good pets, don't worry about too much about spending on rolls since you'll be getting +5 gold when you sell the ducks. When you sell, everything gets +4+4 and if you get a good tier 3 you'll have a significant advantage in mid game rounds. Usually can get 6 or 7 wins.
Ducks cannot be overlooked. The duck might have similar importance to Dodo in the long run.
just in case you were wondering ladybug is actually the colloquial name for a family of beetles, so they are in fact red beetles

NL's caterpillar got weakened and then turned into butterfly removing the effect.
But the opponent turned first and then morphed! keeping the effect!

The abilities resolve from the highest attack unit to the lowest, NL's bat had less attack than the enemies catterpillar, so it weakened it after it transformed
NL, the lobster is a can of food, but in animal form. Anything you summon out of battle (i.e. when pivoting to a better tier) gets buffed. Anything summoned in battle does not get buffed.
This game is brilliant but it really does need a penalty for repeatedly abandoning runs, so many people just sit there and manipulate a perfect first shop now.

I used to abandon games when I was down to a single life, then realized I was missing out on some hard earned 5 whole points and now I have 20 points. But in all seriousness I never restart to get a good team in the beginning, that's a cheesy way about it
I think Lobster buffs the animal you bought before battle. Its used so that if you buy a duplicate it gets a buff before you combine thus giving the combined animal +2+2 perminently?

Being kicked from the queue is too large of a punishment, instead there should be a point system that removes a rank point for each loss/abandon while giving you a rank point for winning, if you get 5 rank points you get bumped up a rank tier and get a bundle of shop points as an incentive, the higher the tier completed the bigger the point bundle.
I think his complaints are overblown. Competition is just getting better.

@gothen nah there are literally people restarting to get a good shop and then playing it optimally to cheese midgame.
This is the only game where I wouldn't mind an ELO/rank system. It's actually fun to do your best with what the game gives you.
@@measlesplease1266 but a shop only gets so optimal in the first round, what's the big meta here? Resetting until you get a few fishes? Or an ant and two beetles? I suppose you can manipulate rng your first round but it's just luck and skill from there on out.
And I have a hard time believing a ranking system wouldn't make competition even harder
@@gothenmosph5151 for context one play is to reset for 5 ducks. Sell all for juiced up shop. Ive had an all duck shop before and it's nasty especially if you time a tier up animal
You absolutely know more about the game than me, but I feel that blue bird is pretty good early scaling. It can definitely make the difference. Perhaps I'm wrong, again you are the expert here.

If you abandon a queue, one of your five slots should be occupied by a 1/1 sloth for the remainder of your next game.

Run 2, last turn, I believe the play was pill ant, buy lobster, sell shrimp, buy better stat animal/shrimp.
Don't know if it would have saved the run with the team you went against, but more stats is more optimal. Lost too many stats from selling dromedary and ignoring lobster
Probably buy caterpillar with lobster, instead of shrimp, bc that gets the most stats and has long-term potential
Doing the math, it would have been a draw as you lost by 4 hp, and the caterpillar and shrimp with lobster play gives you +5 attack (shop shrimp has 1 more than roster shrimp)
i've played too much super auto pets, as soon as NL' s battle is over I click the screen out of habit and accidentally pause the video. done it 4 times already and im half way through the video

How does a winless run happen? Well... I was watching your series from the beginning (the game doesnt work on my PC , god knows why...) and I decided to try It yesterday on my mobile... I got my cheeks clapped so hard, Holy crap I did not imagined it was even possible....

Bat is overrated, change my mind. I think it's better to super scale a couple of huge units and if your units are bigger than your opponents then you're gonna kill them in one hit anyway so bat does nothing and provides no scaling. It's only really good if it's LVL 2-3 in the late game when people have melon armour
Just scale the bat as a big unit or have the bat as a 5th trash unit whose effect is good without needing investment. Bat doesn’t need stats to use its effect, and it isn’t allergic to getting stats from dragon/t-rex or whatever.
Like seriously, it’s that simple. Garlic armor and melon armor are both really really good and weak overrides it, which means bat is good in midgame for potentially sniping their juggernaut and late game for shredding protective food to turn draws into wins

ultimately, basically, you can't one-shot kill anything with more than thirty health if it has melon armor.

But if you sell cow, get 1 gold, buy cow sell cow get 1 gold, rather than buy cow use milk buy cow then sell for 1 you get an extra gold? Unless I'm wrong 😅

So, I know it's weird, but I'm wondering, if NL's going to go with the scaling Dinosaurs, why not just get as many separate Dinosaurs as you can? Like a Level 2 Dinosaur gives everything else +4/+4. But if instead you have 3 level 1 Dinosaurs everything else gets +6/+6 and the Dinosaurs get +4/+4. So while a level 2 dinosaur gives 16/16 worth of stats every turn, 3 level 1 dinosaurs give 24/24 worth of stats each turn and the dinosaurs are actually scaling with everything else now too. Oh an it's not like the Dinosaurs start of that small either. I mean, 13/8 isn't really something to scoff at.
by the time you're getting t-rexs consistently, in battle synergies start mattering again.
