    Interesting! I suspect it will be difficult for many to get consistent results because of differences in humidity when the stars were prepared. Some very nice effects are possible with slowed-down compositions, such as fireflies, but these are usually with more or less inert additives such as barium sulfate or strontium carbonate. Sugar, which is both fuel and hygroscopic, I would not have thought to add. When I read the subject of the video and saw the thumbnail, I'd imagined some co-crystallization product of sucrose and KNO3.

    The slow burn looks like it would make a good primary fuel for a blue star comp...
    Bit cheaper than lactose.

    I like the hang time. Try those in a shell with some dragon eggs 💥💥💥

      Might be worth trying transition star... Dragon egg core covered in sugar comp and primed the usual way...
      I'm getting really into layered rolled stars.
      Sure the take forever to make, but you can do a dozen batches at once with different combinations and stagger them.
      Start a new batch every day until you have 7-10 and then as they dry you'll have a batch a day to recoat and apply new layers.
      I'm currently doing it by hand... But I'll get a mixer soon.
      Cut stars are nice and convenient for tests but I find rolled stars perform better.
      And the methodical process is appealing to me (not for everyone).

    Maybe try using powdered sugar with a red gum or sgrs as a binder and acetone for wetting... Just a thought 🤔

    I believe sugar likes to absorb moisture, I wouldn't use it in compositions with metals.

    The composition of the stars mixture is normal tiger tail stars mixture (plus sugar) ?

    What ingredients do you mix sugar with? What is the mixing ratio? I'm Vietnamese so I don't really understand. Please answer! Thanks

      No worries bro, there I usually have blackpowder based firework star mix, potassium nitrate + sulfur + homemade charcoal, all of that needs good grinding in whats called ball mill and all of that will sound more easy if you might have some time to check out few of my videos like making C6 firework stars, should open up the view for you on pyro stars 💯

    Why do u need holes in these paper lids?

    • @TheSCP_Foundation
      @TheSCP_Foundation 8 місяців тому

      He made a batch of these, he uses them for the top side and under side. One hole he uses for the fuse. They could also provide ventillation for gases to escape, which can contribute to a more efficient burn.
