This is crazy awesome . I appreciate rocks so so much , I have been left at the river bottom more then once when my ride would leave without me . I just can't stop. . I am so in my element among the prehistoric treasure . I have been this way since childhood . I am so happy that you too see the fascinating worlds within . I have taken folk to find gold using my innate sense for geolegy and they found gold . I just wanted my beautiful rocks . They thought me crazy and were happy to hoard the riches . Good for them . I will take rocks any day this young man gets it . I love this . Rock in people . And what if it is a brain ? . We are blessed to be . All you Rock appreciaters love and incredible discovery to you all . Never forget how to play . Stay safe

I love your respect for the native indigenous people of your country. That you acknowledge them and their ancient crafts and knowledge. I used to hunt that green rock. Ours used to have black specks in it and was tumbled in the ocean. I think it was serpentine. I lived in Ahipara in Northland, New Zealand when I was a kid. Greenstone or Jade is a very important rock for our Maori people. As an indigenous woman myself, your love for your people and land resonates deeply for me. Our relationship with the land, ocean, waterways and season is spiritual. Keep up the great content Nate. ❤

Hey Brother, great videos with a great vibe included!
I also spend a fair amount of time out in the western backcountry of California and have a similar fascination for life and it's natural wonders. Thank you for these, and also for encouraging folks to get out and see this stuff! It's Amaaaaaazing!
Oh, also, If you get in an area like that again, next time try sitting down with a large flat rock, and a smaller handstone and grind like grinding corn in a metate. It is a sound that has echoed through the pinion covered mountains around my home for eons and has a great effect at calling the good stones to you....don't forget the animals too.....they are your katchinas! If you ever get to Bishop, CA lets go on walkabout together. I have some stuff I would love to show you!

Loving the patterned rock! Please keep them for your rock garden. The spear point was a cool find too. Indian artifacts intrigue me because your hands have been the first to touch it since an indigenous person has handled them. Fantastic hunt and great finds! 😉 Please tell me you kept ALL your finds, please.😊

OI Brother ,, carfull on the river glass assumption ..I thought this for a couple months till i then got a chunk that was way to thickto be glass i looked it up and to the "Nature Givin knowledge".Blue topaz!! It looks just like river glass it's like a 5 on hardness it is best to chip a little piece off a nice chunk like you found and peer inside to see if there are inclusions of natural impurities forming inside and it has a slight blue hue... also brown or empress topaz as well its like brown beer bottles still not sure crush the little chip u made and it will polverize like glass does. Glass river glass also when chipped breaks off like flint does sharp jagged flakes .... keep it coming . Best .

Wow wonderful finds. That is a great rockhounding spot. Our family farm is on a hill overlooking a small lake. It happens to be a perfect place for arrow heads. The Potawatomi had a spot there by the lake so up on the hilltop in the field are arrow heads and it was a spot where they made the arrow heads after getting the flint or obsidian from Kentucky. They also would send smoke signals to a neighboring tribe a few miles away on another lake. It fires the imagination when I find castoff rocks or arrow heads. Who held it and who made it?

I live in Idaho and mostly hunt sapphires and opals, but soon I will be staying in Sonora ca. for a week or two... anyone know any cool spots around that area? Not really interested in gold, as its surely mostly found around there, and no shortage back home. there's got to be something cool that gold miners wouldn't have given a crap about that maybe is sitting in tilling piles around Sonora????

That's cool that you've got your little superstitions, like rubbing those rocks together to coax out special rocks. My superstition is that the very FIRST keeper I find, be it a beautiful jasper or agate or feldspar, I hold in my left hand while I rockhound. Whether or not any of it makes an objective difference doesn't matter to be, because even if it's only in my mind, it feels right.
