Brings back memories, and for all the ppl that are clueless. The kids first run he ran to far outside meaning he didn't go through the cones so that's why the coaches didn't give him credit and probably the reason why Nates kid didn't light him up the first time.
Nobody was was laughing their ass off when the other kid blew by him on the first drill. And where's the wrap up? Instead of being so "proud" teach him fundamentals. He's gonna need it when he ends up being 5'7" 140 lbs in H.S.
Father's are always like tht when it comes to football.....i know for a fact i was the coaches son and the Quaterback....they feel a sense of pride when thier son does something good on the field
Wow Nate, completely disregard all the other kids in line, the dissatisfaction expressed through your child's body motions, and the pride of the other kid and his father. I'd say you taught them all. Shaking my head, A fan that use to look up to you.
I played football as from kid to adult and enjoyed it and I understand a parent being proud of good play. That being said laughing and cheering when the other kid is still on the ground needing attention in not good sports at any age. I have seen NFL players show more compassion.
Watching this reminds me of all of the soft West Coast football because very few West Coast guys actually tackle. Guys do not wrap up. Then when they play Southern kids and try that stuff they become the stuff of posters. Why wouldn't they teach an athletic kid with pedigree, like this little man, to wrap up? Real talk. Keep tackling with his lead shoulder is going to make him the subject of someone else's video. I guarantee it. Get his head up and wrap the runner up at the waste. Any real football folks watching this would agree.
How do grown men laugh and record another kid getting his bell rung, like the other kid isn't there. Have some class. I guess that's why ol Nate isn't getting no PT in the league no more. How bout we laugh at that. If it was your son, and someone else was out there recording and laughing at your son (nates), what would happen. Show some respect.
Jairon Harrison Kid's football. I would understand if there were all adults out there. Kids are very sensitive, because at this stage in their life, they are developing who they are. Nobody wants to feel not liked or accepted. I sorry if I took it a lil too far, I just put myself in that situation with my son, and I probably would've said or done something to Nate for acting out like that. Sorry I took it personal
I completely agree with you PPerkins08 these kids are young and although you want to be proud of your son during practice you still have to respect all those that are out there and blatantly LOUDLY laughing like a hyena is very rude and disrespectful and could hurt a kids feelings. Saying "its football" is not an excuse. That kid could not want to ever play sports again. Yes in Football you have to be tough but there comes a time and age where you start treating them tough. 6-11 years old is not that time. ESP around 6 and 7. At that age kids are supposed to be developing a genuine love for the sport. Soccer and Baseball is the prime example those kids LOVE the sport because they have fun with it at young ages and once they get older they develop the competitive drive to want to be better. You cant force that and that's the issue with football. You cant pressure a kid into doing that and then laughing at the other kid who got pummeled. You are supposed to showcase sportsmanship.
Kenneth Coleman Thanks man, that's was exactly what I was trying to say. I think you articulated it better than I could, because I was just caught up in my emotions. I was just sitting there thinking like, what did that other kids parents feel as well as the child, when he busted out laughing and so forth. I have a son that very same age, and I probably would have said something to Nate for embarrassing my son like that. What if the shoe was on the other foot, I don't think Nate would be laughing then. Just like you said, that could've made that kid lower his self esteem about his ability to be able to perform in the sport, and maybe not want to play again. You never know how you can change someone's life (negative or positive), in what we say or do to them.
Defense, Helmet to helmet, 15 yard penalty, 1st down (who's cheering now?) However, nothing wrong with chasing a scholarship with a few heavy concussions...go entertain 'murica.
And this is what is wrong with football today. Terrible form tackling, the reason why he whiffed on the first one. Kids getting encouraged to go for the big hit rather than tackle properly.
I agree. Coach always told us get your head across and wrap up, keep your head up until you hit or you can't see what you're hitting. But I led with my head from time to time too. Usually when I got pissed and wanted to murk somebody
Yea he popped him but the real issue is the coaches didn't tell him to wrap up and run thru the defender when he tries to hit a RB who knows to lower his pad level and keep his balance that's a TD Every time my boys learn football...and for everybody cryin about them laughing shut up...maybe if we stopped teaching our kids to be so humble and play down there accomplishments maybe we'd birth a generation of free thinkers and people not afraid to go after what they want in life
THIS IS A CRIME !!!!! KIDS SHOULDN'T PLAY FOOTBALL SHAME ON THEIR IRRISPONSIBLE PARENTSTHESE PARENTS ARE LIKE ASSASINS!!! SHAME ON YOU BY LETTING THESE YOUNG BOYS GOING THROUGH ALL BRAIN DAMAGE
Do you believe in letting your kids do what they love? Most concussions don't kill you. If you were a parent I bet your kid would grow up in a bubble so he wouldn't get sick. You would be a horrible parent for letting your child go to a birthday party for the risk of him getting sick or falling down. Think before you write dude. Also you can just put down one of Americas greatest sports we have played this game for a long time buddy.
+Jacob Winde my little one plays soccer basketball in 2 different teams weekly during season, watching these kids hitting each other in the head it's not a sport !!! they can break an arm or a knee that should come to normal but when it comes to Brain dammage" Wow with all what we know.. seeing and hearing what Brett Favre and other stars are saying ... having kids they wish them not playing football .. that says a lot, i used to die for Football don t get me wrong but ...
Looking at this from a coach's perspective, that was horrible tackling. Kid needs to get lower and wrap up. Hitting up high might look good on the highlight real, but your just as likely to have the RB knock you over as you are to knock him down.
As a coach I would say these drills our way outdated. You saw the first time the running back simply ran right around the tackler. The coaches then made him cut inside and turned him into a victim. You do not see a place like this in a football game. This is not situational coaching. It looks like a bunch of men at a cockfight.
+PatsFan5101 You don't force a runner into a no win situation. Everyone knows most lead with their heads. So many things wrong. Instead of having the whole team stand around how about having the QB hand it off? Make the linebacker read the play not blindly run into a collision. In a game the runner will go right around him. Maybe shed some blocks. How many times in a game does the middle linebacker get a 10 yard unimpeded run at the back? Get the kids a lot closer together. Show them where their head goes. Get the camera guy out of practice too. These kids want to learn football they are not there for your entertainment.
How so? You didn't hear him giving his son encouragement to play a sport that will keep him health. He said "you make your dad proud." He's wrong cuz he enjoys the nature of football?
Horus osirius A simple correction isn't lashing out. xD And yes, intelligence is most certainly shown through grammar AND vocabulary. So, we've now come to the conclusion that you're a soft, ignorant, unintelligent hater of encouraging fathers and football. Wow, you're on a roll.
I read most of the comments and some were on point. If you pause the video just before the contact, you could see that the tackling player did not use his helmet first on the initial contact. It was a shoulder hit, luckly for him it was enough force to knock the ball carrier down. The only valuable technique missing (as some already mention) is the wrapping of the arms after the contact. Football is a contact sport full of excitement and emotions. This video was a Father/son bonding moment. NMNL!
Most tackle leagues start out in kindergarten these days, where football is serious or has any tradition at the high-school level. Not many kids under 6 come out, but you get the occasional young kindergarten kid (as young as 4 in some cases). Speaking first hand, we have a pee-wee (K-2nd), Junior (3rd and 4th) and senior (5th and 6th). But the kindergarten kids don't really play against the 2nd graders. We have separate kindergarten games although they are considered one big team with 1st/2nd.
most football injuries come from when a player is scared of contact and lowers their head, though they may have the wrong approach, theyre doing the right thing
i said that >.> i was just stating the possibility that he may not have wanted to do football initially, doesn't mean he can't get into it once he starts playing.

That's not an insult, but you can't understand this game without having played at some level. The beauty of this game is the competition, structure, discipline and bonding it brings to young boys and young men. I never played past high school, but my life wouldn't be the same without football. For those complaining about the other boys self esteem: the beauty of football is that the very next play, he can go and beat his opponent the very next play, nothing is given to you in life or football, every kid has the opportunity to go make a play. There's nothing wrong with celebrating when you do, especially a proud parent
But they did it in a way where they were laughing when you see that kid is hurt, I know it's football, I've played for 7 years, but seriously their 5 years old!
John Smith The issue isn't the hit by a child its the responses of grown men! There is absolutely no need for them to be jumping up and down during PRACTICE because their kid made a tackle. The bigger issue is the fact he is not learning anything from this drill, if that were my son these grown men were mocking I would be in jail. There is no reason for adults to act like this, and unless he is the coach no reason for him to be that close. If he is the coach no reason for him to be recording, if you aren't turned off by this video you are either a) not a parent b) a bad parent.
I never comment on UA-cam but I have to here. To everyone saying that this is football and people who have a problem should "Shut up", this is not football... Football is a violent game, a collision game and a tough game. But football is a game that teaches young boys how to be MEN. A man does not record little kids getting leveled and then put it on UA-cam for the world to see. A man, makes a big hit, then puts his hand out to pick the other person up, and on the next play try's to make another play. A man has character, humility and civility. A man who is in charge of young boys learning to play football, would coach after every rep to make those kids better. Not simply say run in-between the cone or the camera is rolling. Football is a hard-nosed impact game played at the highest level by some of the toughest people. But this is not football, this was set up and staged for a camera. Football can be a great tool to make young boys great men, this is not how you do it. Jumping around hooting and hollering and putting it on the internet. Remember this, the boy who got hit, is also 7-8 and may not be as developed as the boy who hit him yet. Its not like one grown man took out another grown man, he's a little kid. Kids at that age could possibly fall over after bumping into something. They are kids, let them be that. You got your views, you got your 15 minutes, now be and adult, and take this down.
I see quite a bit of grammar mistakes when I read people's comments on UA-cam but I still play it cool by not busting people's chops over all their grammar mistakes. It's allright
already taller than his father
LOL.. AHH, GOT'EM!!!
brooo savage of the year
man
You did him dirty lmao
That coach's reaction to the other kid getting hurt was vile.
Brings back memories, and for all the ppl that are clueless. The kids first run he ran to far outside meaning he didn't go through the cones so that's why the coaches didn't give him credit and probably the reason why Nates kid didn't light him up the first time.
I like how he showed the bad play and let him get back up and work harder big salute! #footballdads
I didn't know Nate and is son are the same height
Lmao
HAHAHAHHAAHHAWHWH

Focus on the positive. These kids are learning teamwork, and here is a father-son moment. Some great things are happening here.

Dude he's 6 years old stfu
+Garrick Respress my though exactly, head up wrap up, keep feet digging. teach em young. my boy was taught at 4 to tackle with pads not head!!!!!!
Nasty Nate passing on his love of sports to his own kid.

at their size their helmets are half as big as they are. it's almost always helmet to helmet.
Tits, Beer, Football, AMERICA.
Loved that first tackle.
your laughing at a child?

Awesomeness kid has talent!!!
I FEEL LIKE THEY ARE VERY EDUCATED COACHES

Tomes the chrane
It's little kids, proper footwork and stuff is hard to teach them
Man i like that kids attitude.
Horrible. You have to wrap your arms around the offense then put weight on them. Not bodily harm them.
I like how you added "Haha" to the end because you know you didn't want to start a fight
Hits like that don't even hurt haha. Y'all be saying how wrong this drill is but u have never even played the sport
He walked away like a badass
Everybody needs to stop hatin and they were ligal hits and football is ment to be rough. He like a youger version of me
Exactly! I think we were all thinking that they were like younger versions of Jacob Rose.
You are supposed to coach these kids up. They are not at practice for your entertainment.
Adults living vicariously through their children...
Terrible tackling form. Gotta wrap up with the arms.
bro he's seven
Never too early to teach good fundamentals.
Billy Stevens not even seven he’s six
Oh I just now realized this comment is six years old.....
i saw Nate a while ago in S.A with his son playing basketball

your an 80s baby...crack baby
I hate people like you
we did this same drill in football it was always my favorite

That's a MURDER!
You ain't Chris Smoove BABY!
Lol he aint chris smoove BABY ! And nate Robinson son made a smoove move by lighting that kid up lol
Wtf is up with everyone hating lol, the kid is 6. His helmet is bigger then his body, and his dad is just cheering him on.
Stupid drill. These guys should not be coaching kids.
Stupid drill? That's how you learn to tackle. Should they play tag at practice and tackle during the game?
+PatsFan5101

True. Some "big hits" in football are just unnecessary and showboating. A tackle works and that's it.
Nate played football at Washington and was a beast and he played some qb
Nate Robinson worst dad of the year......
How so? You didn't hear him giving his son encouragement to play a sport that will keep him health. He said "you make your dad proud." He's wrong cuz he enjoys the nature of football?
Horus osirius I think you're gay...
Horus osirius Would you like to elaborate? If this was referring to intelligence, you forgot a comma before "ape man."
Do you think grammar is intelligence?
It's easy to see when someone has nothing to say... don't lash out like a child..

great way to build a kids confidence....

Hits harder than our 8th grade team where i live.
i like how the guy was excited for him lol
That was AWESOME

Who would dislike this?
You hit him hard like BOOM!
Nate Robeson your son is so great he can even play in the NFL!!!💸😎
My name is Jordan

I remember playing against him when I was in 3rd grade
i said that >.> i was just stating the possibility that he may not have wanted to do football initially, doesn't mean he can't get into it once he starts playing.
Nate Robinson a fool yo he wa mad HYPE!
I actually remember when I was nine when I tackled my 5'7-5'8 brother i was actually real small,I still can't knock him down.

he will live its football
oh the beauty of the inner city :)
he stayed down after the last hit at the end of the vid. the coach goes over and kneels over him
Well said. Many people watch these vids and I was just trying to give some advice. Be safe.

Small children crashing into each other. This is America! Lol great hits
HE IS A BEAST #BEASTMODE!!!
Dude, he's a little kid and seems to be enjoying it just fine. Maybe the parent is excited that his son is good at something he likes to do.
other kids were like it's my turn damn it!
Why the coaches shorts so long
that awkward moment when these 2 hits are harder than most of my undefeated freshman teams hits at practice.
I see quite a bit of grammar mistakes when I read people's comments on UA-cam but I still play it cool by not busting people's chops over all their grammar mistakes. It's allright
one of the coaches immediately walked over to the kid. I think you need to go back and watch the end again.
HAHA that first line is hysterical!
1st tackle: ok the title is being sarcastic
2nd tackle: i guess not
3rd tackle:Oh shit even a stare down afterwards
Wow, great role models those kids have as coaches....
wow that kid is a beast
nate is really laughing at the other kid getting rocked by his son hahahaha
