Would love the copy of heaven. I haven’t read a Randy Alcorn book as of yet and my goal this year is to read something of his. Thanks for thinking of us!!
Yes! It ended up being a little more than a week that I covered but it definitely went well with reading. Unlike this current week I'm in wherein I am reading almost nothing!😭
I heard Heaven mentioned at church and would love to read it! You finished many books this week! I’m in a real slump right now, which could be because I’ve been so busy and not had much time to read. I did finish the first book in Gabrielle Meyer’s series and really liked that!
Yes, being busy takes a toll on the reading life, as I discovered this week. It's a good thing that last week (which is what this weekly reading wrap-up is about) I read a lot... because the WRW going live tomorrow - I read basically nothing. 😂
Hey Greta! You are the winner of this copy of Heaven!!! Message me through any of my contact points (in my bio or description box) and I'll arrange to ship the book to you! ❤❤
I Must Betray You is so good!! It's crazy how, although the communist revolution feels so distant, it really isn't. My dad was 15 when it happened... his entire family lived in poverty in western Romania, many were so negatively impacted by the government.
Yes, it feels distant but it's not. When I was young, I felt like the 50s and 60s were ancient history, but my parents lived through that, so it wasn't that long ago, actually.
Another wonderful video and great, detailed reviews! Your bookshelves are looking good, did you accomplish your goal!? Do you have certain time(s) of the day you like to read? I need to come up with a better plan haha 😅 Happy reading 📚📖
I did accomplish my goal, which was to eliminate anything I knew I would never read or re-read, and to create some space. I did create quite a bit of space for fiction, so that's good. I usually have time to read at night but then I'm sleepy. I like to read when I'm a passenger in a car, which happens a decent amount of time.... but the other people in the car like to talk to me so that doesn't always work. 😂 Otherwise I read any spare moment I have.
I just finished the first in the Timeless series and gave it 4 stars. I also would like to keep reading the series. I have started Heaven but haven’t finished it. I need to pick it back up! It’s been excellent so far. (You can exclude me from the giveaway since I already have a copy.)
Anne, if you can find a way to watch the movie White Nights with Mikhail Baryshnikov and Gregory Hines, I think you would enjoy it. It came out in 1985 and gives a good feel for living as a "prized" citizen in the Soviet Union. I plan to start Evermore tonight or tomorrow. I read Always last month and really enjoyed it. I'm going to go into it as a light, frothy, alternate history read. I read Joni Eareckson Tada's book Heaven last year. I'd like to read Randy Alcorn's book, too. There are so, so many things I am looking forward to. But at the very tippy-top of that long list has to be Jesus. To finally see His face and hear His voice...
I think I've heard of that movie. Never seen it, though - sounds like one I should watch! Yes, Evermore is a frothy read, which I kind of expected from the cover and the description. However, I will say she has written some other historical fiction that WAS accurate as far as I know. In particular I'm thinking of her biographical series. Those I think she heavily researched. I have not read Joni Eareckson Tada's book about Heaven but I've heard good things! It's on my radar for sure.
Oh, my gosh, is that a new Ruth Sepetys? I love her novels! To your point about young readers, when my cousin was a teen, she was really into Septys, so I pre-ordered her new book at the time, Salt of the Sea, for both of us, and we buddy read it! I love books about time travel or with a plot that plays with time! Sounds like lots of great books for you - enjoy!
I found a used copy of Heaven and bought it after your recommendation. It is definitely on my TBR! (Since I already have a copy, I don’t need to be part of the drawing.) I am currently keeping my eye out for a Ruta Sepytys to try. I saw someone reading one of her books at the pool over the weekend and was excited. I didn’t know her as an author before you mentioned. Thanks!
Oh, glad you found a copy of Heaven! I have read two now by Sepetys and really enjoyed them over all. I will say there are a few cuss words but they're not gratuitous in my opinion.
Book two in the Timeless series was my favorite. I can’t really say why without spoiling. 😊 So happy to be reading Ruth with you! I haven’t read Jodi Hedlund. You have me kind of intrigued.
I definitely enjoyed the storyline in the second book and I think I know what you're talking about! Yes, I'm really enjoying our discussions about Ruth. I will warn you that Jody Hedlund can get close to the line as far as physical intimacy goes. Everybody's different, but some people do find her to go too far as a Christian author. Just a heads up!
I love Ruta Sepetys books. I haven't read that one yet and will have to pick it up. I was first introduced to her writing through my middle school students recommending her books to me. I love how she picks a lot of lesser known points in history to explore in her books.

Absolutely!
I'm wondering if you will have any book recommendations for the Fall season? 🌻
Oh that's a good question! I don' t really read seasonally, except for Christmas, so I'd have to think about that.
You had a grand reading week! Love the variety and the knocking off of promots!
Yes, love the sense of accomplishment!
I’ll be reading evermore end of this month!
It was a fun read! Nice change of pace.
I have really enjoyed Rita Sepetys books in the past and that one sounds really good.
It was very good.
Looks like you had a great reading week!

@@insearchofwonder thanks so much! I really appreciate it!
Glad you're having fun with Deck of TBRathon so far!
Thanks for organizing it. I'm sure it's a lot of work!

I love the Timeless series. Auto buy for me and I rarely buy books. 12:00
Same!

I believe it's her most recent solo book. I'm sure you'd love it!
I Must Betray You was such a powerful book. I had the same reaction and even had to stop reading for a few days, it got so intense. 1:48
Yes, it did get quite intense.

Gabrielle 🔥🔥🔥🔥so glad you’re enjoying it.
It was great! Looking forward to the next one.
All the Ruta Sepetys books I have read have been so good! And yes, all young adults need to read them!
Agreed on both counts!
I must betray you so good so glad you enjoyed it. It taught me so much.
Yes, I agree!

Have to love when one book crosses off a bunch of other challenges. Such a bonus.
YES! It's the best.
I love Ruta Sepetys books. I haven't read that one yet and will have to pick it up. I was first introduced to her writing through my middle school students recommending her books to me. I love how she picks a lot of lesser known points in history to explore in her books.
Yes! I read Fountains of Silence earlier this year and learned so much about twentieth century Spain that I never knew.
@@insearchofwonder That was my first introduction to her books. Definitely left me searching for more info about this time period. ♥️
